i was gonna do an acoustic chrono cross arrangement album with danny b, but that's pretty much dead in the water. i still like the concept though.

PRC90: Haven't I seen this jazz before? (Deja Vu) [Results]

I really wish these threads could be posted in the general community forum. If I had seen this earlier I might have joined. :/ -
Final Fantasy VII: Voices of the Lifestream - History
suzumebachi replied to zircon's topic in Projects
I forgot my damn USB drive again. I should fucking staple it to my leg or something. D: -
Agreed. The previews I've seen so far look like complete and utter shit. The CGI looks like it was done by a high school drafting class.

Oh come on, nobody really misses orange OCR. Blue/gray keyboard OCR is where it's at. Or rama's fancy CSS themes. In any case, I drink to 7+ years of OCR, and here's to 7+ more!

Oneup Studios Is "Back With a Vengence"

Your signature can die in a fire. Otherwise, hurray! -
It depends on a guild. A small guild with 10 people who don't play very often is naturally gonna be less talkative than a 500 man guild (yes, they exist). The guild I'm in now has about 50 active players, and the guild chat might as well be IRC. As far as partying goes, it's really only necessary for the occassional group quest and for instances. There's nothing stopping you from grouping up with a couple of guys and blazing through a bunch of quests, though. My only real complaint is that the new LFG system WoW uses sucks compared to the global LFG channel it used to have. Wait what? Warcraft has RIDICULOUS amounts of lore. There's entire wikis dedicated to it.

OK I opened it up and took a look at it, did some research etc. Turns out the action of the Wurlitzer EPs is pretty much exactly the same as an acoustic piano, except that rather than striking a string, the hammer hits a reed instead. So... do any of you guys have any experience with fixing up or regulating pianos?

Acoustic guitar is one of the hardest things to simulate through sequencing. Picked or plucked CAN be done, but it's quite difficult and requires a shit load of attention to detail and extensive first-hand knowledge of both the guitar, and your sequencer. Strumming, or rhythmic accompaniment on the other hand... well good luck with that. I've been trying for 6 years and I can still hardly fake it. If you truly know the inner workings of a guitar, from there it's a matter of translating what you do on a guitar to your sequencer-- down to every minute detail. Also, Virtual Guitarist is a copout. And SSH does NOT use it. At least not in the songs I've heard.

2/10. I gave you two points for capitalizing shit and essentially nothing else.

Most old electro mechanical organs are loud when you turn them on. It's the sound of the air being moved through the pipes or some shit. I think. Though I could be entirely making this up. But my friend has an old Hammond electro mechanical organ and it sounds like a friggin leafblower.

OK so today I got a whirlie. It's a Wurlitzer Model 140A. 64 keys of suitcase win. Except... I know pretty much little to nothing about it. All the keys work, but there are a few that are kinda sticky (to be expected, considering it's over 45 years old). I've been scouring the web looking for resources for maintenance and fixing it up, restoring it, etc, and coming up with pretty much nothing useful, mostly just people charging to fix them up. So I'm wondering if any of y'all know anything about wurlitzer electric pianos, and how to go about remedying the stickyness. Also, pics coming soon.

Work in the Retail World

Zophar's Gumbo Domain? My previous experiences are pretty much a detailed example of how NOT to do business. Rife with failure! I eat profit out of tin cans while financial Baby Jesus cries. -
Overzealous is about right. The editor who nominated all the articles for deletion is part of the so called Association of Deletionist Wikipedians. I can't help but question the good faith of a group of idiots who dedicate their time and effort to expressly deleting articles. In the meantime, the articles are on ThaWiki.

So Knytt and Within a Dark Forest are art, but Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are not. OC ReMix, doujins, and scene music is art, but every artist who has ever sold anything is not. Retarded YouTube videos and shitty flash animations are art, but an Academy Award winning motion picture is not... Yeah... Right.

OCR01560 - Final Fantasy X "Lake in Ontario?"
suzumebachi replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
this is freaking cool. yes, that's all i have to say. -
I have 6 now. I was finally able to create another toon after deleting about 12 more characters. It seems like they did decrease the maximum number of characters. :/ Also, I agree that bear DPS was out of hand, but what they did was terrible over correction. All that really needed to be done was decrease the damage of mangle, and they should have left it at that. But then they went on to decrease their armor by 50%, significantly reduce their HP, broke savage fury, and turned predatory instincts into crap. Now not only can they not generate threat, but they can't mitigate damage nearly as well either. The priest thing is totally overblown though, Prayer of Mending with no cooldown was amazingly overpowered, and a 10 second cooldown (as opposed to the 20 second one on test realms) isn't too bad. The shadow priest nerfs do suck though, as if they didn't cause enough threat as it is :/ You gotta question the timing of the huge druid nerf alongside a huge warrior buff. It's almost like blizzard is saying "dear druids, thanks for taking over the tanking duty while all the warriors specced arms to level. but now that there's enough level 70 warriors, we'll be forcing them back into prot spec and taking your tanking ability from you now. can't be having any dps warriors, shadow priests, or feral druids in end game instances you know! thanks."

Does anyone know anything about homebrew stuff for PS3 vs 360 yet? One of the things that made the last generation so cool was all the fun stuff you could do after you modded it (or disc swapped if you were a cheap bastard like me). You know, emulators, movie players, internet browsers... operating systems... etc. Others (*coughXerolcough*) say that the PS3 is likely to be the console of choice for homebrewers, but I find this EXTREMELY unlikely thanks to the ridiculous CPU architecture of the Cell, whereas, if I'm not mistaken, the 360 is still based on PC architecture, correct? But then again I don't know shit.

and you didn't save the .swf? you should be ashamed!

Did they lower the maximum number of characters you can have on an account in the patch today? I tried making a bank alt, but it said I have too many characters, so I deleted a number of unused alts on other realms, but it still says the same shit, "you have reached the maximum number of characters." wtf mate? I would have posted in the customer service forums, but the WoW forums are apparently down as a result of DoS attacks from all the nerfed druids and priests (not that I blame them).

there was a 8-bit katamari game?

Why do game companies even let Uwe Boll touch their franchises? Let alone make sequels... Jesus.

Video game controller to electronic drumset controller
suzumebachi replied to CSmith's topic in General Discussion
I'd suggest getting in touch with a EE major that knows his way around MIDI. What you're asking for is not impossible, but it's definitely not gonna be easy either. In order to do it without a computer, you're gonna pretty much have to build a convertor from scratch. There are guides on the web that tell you how to build a PS2 to USB adapter from scratch, and that would be a good place to start. At least then you could get a feel for how the PS2 controllers work, and if you look up the specifications for MIDI you could maybe figure it out yourself.
