  1. That was fun listening to all the entries and voting! Good luck!
  2. I like this idea alot. I used to do this years ago with SectionZ.com was still around. I like the basis of the rules so far. But I wouldnt go with base FL, but at least the Producer Edition (or Full Plugins Edition) if we can. It has alot more to play with so we more wiggle room for creativity.
  3. I've always wanted to give one of these compos a try. This sounds like a good one to start!
  4. This is awesome! I'm glad you all enjoyed it! I had alot of fun working on it!
  5. Sad to hear Trism, but your health is always more important. I am still very glad that you invited me, as I had a blast getting back into music again. I even had probably the most fun in a while arranging something. You can always hit me up for a future project if you chose to! I'll submit my completed track to the judges. @Chimpazilla
  6. How's the project moving along @Trism? Its been a few months since I've heard anything.
  7. I know you've been busy Trism, but have you had a chance to go over my latest update?
  8. I knew about the accusations against Soule for a long time, well before I came into the project. I'm in the same mindset as djpretzel. I enjoy the music, but not the person. I'm still on board for this project.
  9. I went through several albums that I have, and I didn't find anything. But the fan made album scene for the Chrono series is huge. I remember Chrono Compedium had a huge database on them.
  10. I'll go through all the Chrono doujinshi albums that I have. I'm with Taucer that I've heard this too.
  11. I don't think so. Using a program to master a track outside of its original source is pretty normal. I use Sony Soundforge along with FL Studio.
  12. Mostly its all EQ. There is very little lows to mids. This is causing it to sound like it's being played through a handheld speaker (gameboy, gamegear, etc). If you played with the EQ it would bring this out quite alot.
  13. I like this quite a bit! It's cool to see genesis style FM tracks. Currently my biggest thing is that the sound is too thin. Like it is being played back through a Game Gear speaker. It lacks the depth and fullness the original had. I also second DarkSim on the arrangement itself. I can tell the differences between yours and the source, but only so. If I did a remix of a track using similar instruments and/or style, I would try to enhance or take my arrangement higher than the source. Good take though!
  14. This is absolutely fantastic. I love that bass! Always good to see a mv mix!
  15. I've been focusing mostly on the COVID folding. Its cool they can let you focus on that.
  16. I think its a misstep. Now I like the ideas they have and what they are trying to do to make it different from FF7, especially as you go on. However! The execution of those ideas, well, it is very poor. The voice acting is terrible. A big portion of the dialog seems cliche, and it hurts to listen to, even in Japanese w/subs. There are several scenes that are awkward, characters that act awkward. I really want to like this. I like the idea of seeing Midgar fleshed out. But everything is so hollow. I'm getting serious FFXV vibes from it and Square is going down a road I don't think they can come back from.
  17. I'm not an expert on this but I usually follow Creative Commons License when it comes to people asking to use my music (Remix or Original). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creative_Commons_license Now if you create your music with no intent for profit, the user of your remix needs to follow this as well. If they plan to use the music in a game meant for profit, it goes against what your license originally intended when you first wrote the piece. This gets even more complex if the company/composer who owns the original rights, allows remixes as long as no profit is made whatsoever unless directly licensed. In short, you release for free, they must also release their game for free if they use your remix, unless they get explicit permission from the original rights holder (ie: Original company/Composer), then from you. If you release it for legal profit, again they must first get permission from the original rights holder, then from you. It's all about whether they want to make money.
  18. VRChat has always interested me, just never used it. Sounds cool! Gives me another reason to use my headset.
  19. It is tough to say if it's the chords themselves or the instrument being used. It sounds like both. If you want to check, replace it temporarily with a clean instrument like a piano, with no FX on it. If the chords sound clean and still work with the song, then you know it is the synth/fx you chose. That will give you a good start on fixing it.
  20. This is super cool! I'm a fan of well arrangements for orchestras. The arrangement is top notch and you nailed the national anthem style well. The sounds used are good quality, but lack some mids and lows, which could be just EQ mixing. I'm looking forward to a live rendition if you plan one!
  21. I like this quite alot! I only have two small issues with it. First is the the incredibly panned bass you add in at 0:22. I think it should be centered more. It takes too much away from the rest of the mix. Second is the drums. I like them but they are too repetitive. I think it's mostly from the fact that the rhythm is too basic. It's mostly just BD and snare. Very few additions come and go. When I hear the little ramp up from the other added percussion, I was expecting more to come in and really drive the beat. But nothing happened. A good mix to start!
  22. I want to like this so much, but three things are seriously holding me back on it. First and the largest, is the reverb you use. It sounds like the whole song is being played into a metal tube and you recording the out come on the other side. It's really jarring. Second is the glass chords you introduce at 0:10. They do not work well with this. The further the song progresses, the more they hurt my ears. The clash too much with everything else. Try some different instruments for them. Third is the vocals. I did not expect them (not a bad thing), they are very loud compared to everything else. I like the idea of adding them, but when they come in, they scream "LISTEN TO THESE VOCALS". Take a more subtle approach to them. This is so close to being a great remix.
