  1. Yes, that's accurate. We'll be releasing a genre classification document in a few days that should go more in depth with what each category means. Expansion of the genre list isn't really something we're interested in doing. To be perfectly honest, it's a little unwieldy as it is with three genres.
  2. I think it's good enough to sub to the site. I can only give my own opinion in that I would vote YES. Other Js may disagree with me.
  3. Given that you like experimental music, I wonder what your thoughts are on the latest remix on the front page (http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR03109). Leave a review, let Redg know what you think. Welcome to OCR.
  4. To clarify for Dave, the error occurs when trying to visit a search result from an apostrophe search. When you search for certain terms, the search results include that term in the URL in order to do result highlighting on the page. When an apostrophe is included as part of the URL in the search term, that's what causes the error. Example: http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?p=791840&highlight=writer%27s#post791840
  5. Show tonight at 9PM EDT. Post here if you're available.
  6. If you're trying to do tables, wrap your "tables" in code blocks. 1: Zelda (nes)* | 6+ | 25 2: Streets of Rage 2 | 4.9 | 72 3: Megaman 3 | 4.79+ | 53 4: Castlevania 3 | 4.78 | 70 5: Mario 3 | 4.22+ | 55 6: Phantom Brave | 4.11 | 65 7: Final Fantasy X** | 3.75 | 109
  7. I need a new desktop machine for music and gaming. My current machine is pretty old and I'm still running a Core 2 Duo with 4GB of RAM. It's good for the day-to-day and most games but it's really starting to show its age. Looking to buy or build something that will last me a very long time.
  8. So you just signed up for the forums and have a shiny, brand-new forum account. I'm sure you want to pretty it up and customize it as much as you can, which is great, but we've got a couple of things you need to keep in mind when you're doing that. Here goes! The Real Name field is for your real name only. This field isn't required, and if you don't want to put anything in there, that's fine. But the real name field is not for any titles or nicknames you came up with. If you put something in there that isn't your real name, then you'll be asked to change it, or we'll change it for you. You're only allowed to have one account. Don't make alternate-accounts for secondary identities or anything like that. You're allowed to have one account on the forums. The OC ReMix forums are not role-playing forums; you're not a bunch of characters in a story, you're a real person participating in a community. Please don't make a new account if you want to "test out something" pertaining to how the forum works (i.e. testing permissions, notifications, etc.). That's not your job, that's the job of the moderation team. Full disclosure: I have an alt-account specifically for testing forum permission related issues.
  9. O...kay? If you want him to submit this track, you should tell him to submit it. Posting it here isn't going to do anything.
  10. Yeah I'm not feeling this. Performance is good but the arrangement is not doing it for me. More than half the song feels like an extended intro. The piece builds to something and then once we finally get something meaty, it ends very soon after. Needs more. NO
  11. Nice tunes. If you think someone should be on OC ReMix, then you ask them to submit. We don't do targeted solicitation/talent scouting in any significant way.
  12. You're on the staff, you of all people should be writing it correctly.
  13. We already have a thread for Smash. MERGINNGGG
  14. It was a reference to Iron Chef though. That was the whole idea. The song every week was the "secret ingredient." It actually came before PRC, but used judges instead of voting. That proved to be an unsustainable model for a weekly compo.
  15. It's been a while since I ran a compo and I'm feeling the itch again. I know that people in the past have asked for a Sigma Fortress Remix Gauntlet—essentially a MMX focused version of the Wily Castle Remix Gauntlet. I've been toying with the idea of a Battle Network themed compo but I feel like I should do the SFRG before I put it off any longer. It's something I've wanted to do and it's been a long time coming. I still need to work the kinks out of my Battle Network concept anyway. I'll also say upfront that this will be very straightforward as far as sources go. No crazy surprises with Disney stuff and Gameboy stuff like the last WCRG. Like the previous WCRGs, it's going to be a around 10-weeks long, and if you enter you'll be making 3-4 remixes. I don't know when I'm going to run this; I'm thinking sometime during the Spring or Summer. I want to gauge interest and see when most people will be available to do it. Who's up for it?
  16. Just some interesting history: IronMix Challenge is one of OC ReMix's first ever competitions.
  17. This doesn't belong in Community. Please make sure you're posting threads in the correct forums. Moved.
