  1. Cash, you don't have to make a new birthday thread every day.

  2. Arrangement is killer but the mechanical performances and other production issues are bringing this down. Solo piano/piano ensemble mixes can't get away with sounding like this. Needs work. NO, resub
  3. Who? I mean what are some Rated-E-for-Everyone action/adventure games that feature strong female leads? I'm talking about games that would be appropriate for say an 8 year old girl.
  4. It should be fixed now. Please redownload. Some of you guys (Nuts, Prophecy) send WAVs that don't always encode properly in RazorLAME, which means I have to re-export the WAV data in Audacity to make an encodable file. Forgot to check it this time around. My apologies.
  5. Check first post for music, under Endgame section, semi-finals link. EDIT: wrong zip, fixing EDIT 2: fixed
  6. I think it's cool. I'm more surprised at your "seriously?!" reaction. Games like Zelda are a nice way for little kids to practice reading. Also please name some games like Zelda that feature a female protagonist that you would also consider appropriate for a small child. Okami, maybe, but Ammy is a wolf-goddess and not particularly relatable.
  7. Really need more MMZ mixes on this site. Such a great series of soundtracks. Vocals are rough in certain places, but overall I think you did a good job; like Andrew said, some of the more subdued sections expose some intonation issues. The rest of the mix is really killer. Lots of energy and great balance. UYES
  8. Another great WCRG track. I don't know if I'm listening to the same track as these other guys, but I don't seem to hear a problem with the bass (?). Anyway great groove, nice sound choices, solid percussion work. Really awesome arrangement. YES
  9. Loved this track in the WCRG, but I gotta agree that the vocal melodies take a major departure from the source tunes. NO, resub
  10. Listening again I can hear the sequencing issues you guys are talking about. My previous vote didn't mention them, so my bad, but while Vinnie's fix helps with the dynamics, there are issues with the left-hand sequencing. Also there's some embellishment at 2:54 featuring some very out of place blue notes. Really jarring. Great arrangement but still needs work on the technical side. Might be worth collaborating with a pianist. NO, resub
  11. I have a drop dead date for music at the end of November, but I really need pieces before then. AS SOON AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE.
  12. We do not have Tapatalk installed on these forums, no.
  13. You should put your reply underneath the quoted text in your posts, not above.

  14. I played some bot games with Nabeel and I feel like I finally know what's going on in this game.
  15. I'm sorry, I've had power back for a few days but I've been busy with other things. I will put the music up soon.
  16. I got the white one with AC3:L. It's pretty cool.
  17. Still no power at my house. Remixes are still due today at the indicated time.
  18. That's exactly the problem though. There's too much material. There is far too much that takes place in the 50 or so years after Yavin. There are a TON of people out there who are fans of Star Wars that have zero interest in the Expanded Universe; you can't market a movie to these people when they have to learn all of this crap about the Jaina being the Sword of the Jedi and Jacen becoming Darth Caedus. Try explaining the Vong War to someone who has only seen the two trilogies, or to a kid that watches Clone Wars on Cartoon Network. It's all too complicated to easily convey in the opening crawl of Episode VII. If they're going to keep all of the EU material, they have to set the new trilogy in a significantly later time period where much of what happened in post-OT material is largely irrelevant, like maybe 200-1000 years later. Oh, and people really should give up on the Thrawn Trilogy being the template for the new movies; they take place only 5 years after Return of the Jedi, a movie that was made nearly 29 years ago. All of the principal actors are much, much older.
  19. Hello everyone. Hope you're all hard at work. Remember, remixes are due on Sunday, November 4th. I don't have power at my house because of Hurricane Sandy, so music and voting will probably not be live until I get power back. Please try to get your mixes in on time anyway.
  20. That's not true though. I mean the prequels are relatively old; there has been a lot of Star Wars material that's come out since Revenge of the Sith that has been excellent, such as in comics and novels. There are people out there working on Star Wars that care about and understand what's good about Star Wars. I think that at this point, the only real problem is the two decades worth of Expanded Universe material. The 50 or so years after Return of the Jedi is pretty thoroughly documented in novels and comics, and Star Wars Legacy (a long running comic book series) covered a time period even further down the line (about 130 years after the Battle of Yavin). Even if they pick a sweet spot like 80 years after the original trilogy, they still have to explain a lot of things like the Vong War and all that messy stuff. There may be a significant fork in continuity with this new trilogy, which, honestly, would be really refreshing. The books did a lot of interesting things, but there were a lot of developments that I just wasn't a fan of; plus there's just so much that's happened that sometimes it's hard to keep everything straight. A clean-post-RotJ-slate might be just what the EU needs.
