  1. I recently watched an anime for the first time in a few years. As most of you know, I'm a big fan of superheroes (American comics and Japanese tokusatsu shows). This past NYCC while hunting around for Kamen Rider figures, noticed a crap-ton of Tiger & Bunny figures by S.H. Figuarts (the company that makes really great Kamen Rider and Super Sentai figures). I liked the designs so I decided a few days ago to check out the anime. If you haven't seen it before it's pretty wild; it deals with the commercialization of superheroes, through corporate sponsorships (company logos on suits), endorsements, and reality-TV marketing. The main guy is Wild Tiger, a been-around-the-block hero who's disillusioned with the commercialization of heroics and cares more about saving people than doing his "job," and him getting saddled with the up-and-coming Barnaby Brooks Jr., a Bruce Wayne analogue who's using the super-heroics industry to find his parents' killer. The action and animation is excellent and the characters are all really wonderful; all the heroes get some time in the limelight. If you like superheroes and fun action anime, check it out.
  2. I'm sorry guys, I really need to focus on getting Apex done. We will start the finals next week.
  3. I appreciate your hard work tenfold.
  4. Alright guys, I really need all final tracks this week, by Wednesday. It's a hard deadline because there's a physical run involved.
  5. I set it up.
  6. As Nabeel said, I picked up a deluxe this morning. DarkeSword if you want to add me.
  7. Merged this into KS Central by mistake. Split back to its own thread. Check it out people!
  8. Yeah, make a new thread for game discussion.
  9. So Kickstarter has gotten pretty popular in the last year or so, especially in the gaming community; we even ran a pretty successful one this past fall. More and more people are getting involved in small projects and looking for funds, or just finding cool projects that they want to see funded; as a result, we've noticed an increase in Kickstarter threads. Because we don't want Community to turn into one big Kickstarter bulletin board, here are some rules we're enacting, effective immediately: If you are a posted or to-be-posted remixer and you want to promote a Kickstarter that you are involved in (for your new album, a game you're doing music for, etc.), you can make a new thread in Community with the details. If you are a posted or to-be-posted remixer and you just want to promote a Kickstarter you're backing or interested in seeing get funded, please post it in the Kickstarter Central thread. Anyone else, please post your kickstarter in the Kickstarter Central thread, regardless of whether it's your project or you're just a backer. If you are a posted or TPB remixer and you don't have an OC ReMix Artist Profile link in your forum title, then please provide a link to your artist profile or name the mix that's in our posting queue so that I know not to merge your thread into Kickstarter Central. EDIT: I'm extending this to other crowd-funding sites like Indiegogo as well.
  10. My bad. Yeah, feel free to make a new thread on significant birthdays, but just make sure you're not doing it every day.
  11. That wasn't actually my suggestion. There is no reason to make birthday threads for people who are not active in the community; meaning, don't just look at the "Today's Birthdays" thing at the bottom of the forum and call out the birthdays in a thread.
  12. Pop electronic and pop rock are just very simple. The structure of these songs is easy to understand and easy to listen to. Verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus-chorus-fadeout. Easy peasy. The mark of a great pop song is the hook; that bit of melody that digs right into you. Take a look at the history of American music. A little after the swing era, music sort of "split" in two directions; one was towards increased complexity (bebop, etc.), and one was towards simplicity (rhythm 'n blues, rock, etc.). The simple stuff became much more popular because it was easier to listen to, easier to dance to, and easier to play. Rock continued to evolve and spawn different off-shoots but the simplest and most accessible forms of the genre were always the most popular. Electronic music is the same way and pop electronic music borrows a lot of the same ideas from pop rock; catchy hook, diatonic harmonies, simple chord progressions, verse-chorus-bridge song structure, etc. Also just want to say that there's nothing bad about any of this.
  13. can you send me a forum PM with those names?
  14. Cash, you don't have to make a new birthday thread every day.

  15. Arrangement is killer but the mechanical performances and other production issues are bringing this down. Solo piano/piano ensemble mixes can't get away with sounding like this. Needs work. NO, resub
  16. Who? I mean what are some Rated-E-for-Everyone action/adventure games that feature strong female leads? I'm talking about games that would be appropriate for say an 8 year old girl.
  17. It should be fixed now. Please redownload. Some of you guys (Nuts, Prophecy) send WAVs that don't always encode properly in RazorLAME, which means I have to re-export the WAV data in Audacity to make an encodable file. Forgot to check it this time around. My apologies.
  18. Check first post for music, under Endgame section, semi-finals link. EDIT: wrong zip, fixing EDIT 2: fixed
  19. No. Sheik is in Ocarina of Time.
  20. I think it's cool. I'm more surprised at your "seriously?!" reaction. Games like Zelda are a nice way for little kids to practice reading. Also please name some games like Zelda that feature a female protagonist that you would also consider appropriate for a small child. Okami, maybe, but Ammy is a wolf-goddess and not particularly relatable.
  21. The whole thing looks absolutely awful.
  22. Really need more MMZ mixes on this site. Such a great series of soundtracks. Vocals are rough in certain places, but overall I think you did a good job; like Andrew said, some of the more subdued sections expose some intonation issues. The rest of the mix is really killer. Lots of energy and great balance. UYES
  23. Another great WCRG track. I don't know if I'm listening to the same track as these other guys, but I don't seem to hear a problem with the bass (?). Anyway great groove, nice sound choices, solid percussion work. Really awesome arrangement. YES
  24. Loved this track in the WCRG, but I gotta agree that the vocal melodies take a major departure from the source tunes. NO, resub
