Sure there is. Here's the excuse:
OCR's catalog is primarily comprised of unlicensed fan arrangements. Spotify doesn't allow unlicensed fan arrangements.
Our Submission Agreement is an agreement made with people who submit their music to us. It means that artists are okay with whatever distribution channels we decide and are able to pursue, like physical CDs, Soundcloud, or YouTube. The Submission Agreement doesn't protect us from a company like Square Enix or Konami looking at all of the unlicensed Final Fantasy and Castlevania remixes on Spotify and saying "shut it all down."
In a perfect world we'd be able to distribute OCR's catalog on every streaming service under the sun, but that's not really the case. OCR is unlicensed fan work. The only way OCR gets on Spotify is if we're able to obtain a license for every track in the catalog. That's just not going to happen; that's literally years of work that is quite honestly not worth the return on investment.

I guess we're just plain lazy.

While OCR's Content Policy is quite permissive with regards to ReMix usage in streams and videos, we've seen reports of videos getting hit with Content ID matches on YouTube against tracks from our catalog. Some matches are bogus (stolen tracks, false positives, etc.), some are legitimate (tracks that are a part of a commercial release, audio matched to a source tune, or legitimately claimed by the ReMixer). Here's a list of ReMixes we know have had issues in the past. If you're a streamer or video creator, avoid these tracks.
It should be noted that this list is not comprehensive, only because -- as we post new ReMixes -- other tracks may get added. We also don't have any list available for Twitch, though we haven't heard of issues there. It's possible that there are other tracks that will get your video flagged, and we periodically update this list. Unfortunately there's not a lot we can do about it, except recommend that when you contest your ContentID match with YouTube, link OCR's Content Policy. We've heard reports of people using that to get the hit removed.
We also recommend using Rainwave's song widget for Twitch for their OCR radio station. When new songs trigger YouTube's ContentID, Rainwave staff will get in touch with us and vice-versa in order to keep this list updated.

While OCR's Content Policy is quite permissive with regards to ReMix usage in streams and videos, we've seen reports of videos getting hit with Content ID matches on YouTube against tracks from our catalog. Some matches are bogus (stolen tracks, false positives, etc.), some are legitimate (tracks that are a part of a commercial release, audio matched to a source tune, or legitimately claimed by the ReMixer). Here's a list of ReMixes we know have had issues in the past. If you're a streamer or video creator, avoid these tracks.
It should be noted that this list is not comprehensive, only because -- as we post new ReMixes -- other tracks may get added. We also don't have any list available for Twitch, though we haven't heard of issues there. It's possible that there are other tracks that will get your video flagged, and we periodically update this list. Unfortunately there's not a lot we can do about it, except recommend that when you contest your ContentID match with YouTube, link OCR's Content Policy. We've heard reports of people using that to get the hit removed.
We also recommend using Rainwave's song widget for Twitch for their OCR radio station. When new songs trigger YouTube's ContentID, Rainwave staff will get in touch with us and vice-versa in order to keep this list updated.

In the interest of making the forums easier to sign up for and more accessible to everyone, we've made some changes to registration.
In the past, we've had it so that new accounts had to be manually vetted and activated; this was to avoid spam accounts and the like. This worked, but a side-effect was that new members couldn't engage in the community immediately and would become discouraged from participating.
To move forward, we've done the following things:
Updated our manual registration form to use the latest reCAPTCHA. This is to help fight spam accounts. Removed administrator approval from the registration process. New members will be able to post immediately following email verification. Enabled new members to register using their social media accounts. New members can now use Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ to register. If you're already registered for the forums, you can link your existing forum account to any/all of your social media accounts by going to your Account Settings and clicking the relevant links. Once you do so, you'll be able to use your social media account to sign-in, as opposed to a traditional username/password sign-in.
If you have any friends who are interested in OC ReMix but haven't joined the forums, get 'em over here and get 'em involved! Between album projects, competitions, and gaming discussions, there's a lot to do here.

This particular saga is ended; Brandon has requested removal of his mixes from OCR, and we have decided that it makes sense, given his continued reluctance to admit any wrongdoing and continued insistence that we are in some way at fault / corrupt / whatever.
Put frankly, I don't trust him, I don't believe he learned anything from any of this, and I believe he'd just do it all over again in a heartbeat the next time something came up that he didn't like, didn't understand, misinterpreted, etc. As much of a fan as I am of the music he personally has released via OCR, which we have stood behind, and the albums he has coordinated... if I'm taking time away from my daughters to work on OCR, it has to be for the music, for the site, and for the community, not for the twisted ego & paranoia of a single artist intent on stirring up drama, baiting people, making unfounded accusations, etc.
I am willing to endure quite a bit for the betterment of OCR, and I realize that not ALL of the tasks that I'm responsible for are going to be fun, or enjoyable, or without controversy, but I cannot be expected to indefinitely babysit the fragile ego/psyche of someone who continuously makes bad faith accusations without evidence and sees no fault in his own actions, not to mention a LONG history of claims of harassment by other community members, abusive behavior on the forums, etc.
We will be mailing FF3 artists as well as collaborators who have worked with Brandon on posted mixes, as those will remain on the site unless a consensus decision to remove is reached by all parties. Existing published albums are unaffected by this process.
It's sad, but my goodness... I can't be expected to have unlimited patience and tolerance, nor can our staff. Long time coming. Time to move on.

Plenty of folks on OCR playing LoL too. We really need to get some kind of OCR gaming league going with game nights and guilds and stuff.

Making new friends as an adult after high school/college is actually really difficult. You're not put into situations where you're forced to interact with peers on a regular basis. For gaming friends though, I would suggest meetup.com. There always seems to be some kind of local board game group set up where you can go hang out with people and play board games. This can translate pretty easily into video games. You can also try to create your own gaming group. Maybe contact a local library and see if you can reserve a room with some TVs and set up a weekly gaming thing where folks can drop by and play some Halo.
Also, and this is kind of obvious, but there's OC ReMix too. We're a pretty solid community of gamers. Lots of people are real-life friends because of OC ReMix. Not necessarily local, but I know I see my OCR friends almost monthly nowadays due to get-togethers and conventions. Plenty of folks in the community are playing games online like Overwatch, Hearthstone, Final Fantasy XIV, World of Warcraft, etc. We had a pretty active Team Fortress 2 community a few years ago, though I'm not sure how much people play that anymore.
Your location says "nomadic." Where are you actually located? Maybe there's some OCR folks out near you.
 

It's an older thread from a few years ago that fits the new forum we've created. BardicKnowledge is the moderator for this new forum which will be focusing on ludomusicology, and Gario's theoretical analysis of certain VGM pieces fits the goal of this forum. Ryan (Bardic) will be updating this forum tomorrow with a goals/guidelines post about what types of threads belong in here, but the gist of it is that this forum is dedicated to a more academic discussion of existing VGM, be it historical, analytical, etc.

I made a cover song of the Hearthstone theme a long time ago. We used it for a podcast we did about the game a while ago. I'll link it over here in case its relevant for the project.
