Sorry, don't know of any. And honestly, electric guitar (metal orientated) is one type of sound that's very difficult to "capture" in a soundfont. There are plenty of performers here who would be glad to help you out with any guitar stuff you need, myself included.

What? Doom I and II, while areas that were slow and low on monsters did exist, were primarily built around throwing as many big beasties at you as possible in the area given. There were many many outdoor environments, and, gasp, mostly took place in daylight! Stayed close my patootie, sir.

I've eliminated clipping (that I could find), and rebalanced/remixed the orchestral sections (new instruments). I love the dual cello's that replaced the general string section, they sound much more sincere. Also added a guitar related bits and pieces, more subtle than anything else. Rerecorded the clean Schala part with a better-blending tone. We'll find out in a few months. Thanks for everyone's help and suggestions!

Honestly, you can blame Doom 3's absolute suckage on Resident Evil 2. There's a video interview out there of Carmack saying that no game scared him before or since like Resident Evil 2 did, and he wanted to replicate the feeling he got playing that with the Doom franchise. Unfortunately, Doom was never about scares; it was a thrilling run'n'gun in space with a few "scary" environments thrown in as an afterthought. This, and the closet-monster approach is why Doom 3 failed as a game and succeeded as a tech demo.

Well, let's say this. Remove the backing track and what do you get? Just a series of sounds with no musical value whatsoever, and you know it. This is only impressive in terms of the autoplay function, which has already been done to death (and beyond) with SMW. It's not musical, and it's certainly not melodic in any way.

Maybe it's just me but I don't really hear much musical to the Mario sounds. It's more like just sounds playing over real music with "hits" happening at appropriate time -- regardless of whether or not they're the right note. The percussion (Yoshi stomps) are the only thing I can really match up out of it.
