  1. Haven't posted here in yeeears, but had to say something when I heard. Thanks for a lot of great memories in high school, listening to remixes with a friend. End of an era.
  2. One Media Ventures song sounding like another Media Ventures song? Naah. (Pirates switched composers at the eleventh hour, so much so that they didn't even have time to record all the cues with an orchestra)
  3. If Mega Man Legends doesn't apply, then Skies of Arcadia sure as hell does.
  4. And here's where Grant's ending up- Big Huge Games, known for the RTS series Rise of Nations and XBLA game Catan. He looks to be taking a more supervisory role as audio director. The company's in Maryland, too, so it's a pretty big step for the guy.
  5. This Friday is his last day, leaving both the soundtracks to Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts and Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise as his last work at the company. His MySpace post: Grant's music is the reason I got into game music a decade ago, and remains as one of my favourite composers in the field. Good luck in your future endeavors, Grant.
  6. IGN thinks that MIDI is outdated and should be completely scrapped in favour of prerecorded stuff. They're not a credible source for VGM. I don't think Honeyhive Galaxy is live, though. It does remind me of Toejam and Earl, however.
  7. Funny how you almost perfectly described Time's End. It's by Theophany. http://rapidshare.de/files/38146939/Theophany_-_Time_s_End_Legend_of_Zelda_Majora_s_Mask_.mp3.html
  8. chez dogulov is Ben Cherian. Others, I can't help there.
  9. I discovered this on your site around the same period I read Ender's Game for the first time. Rather excellent on both counts.
  10. Slip up in my Lemmings bio- "One can assign a lemming to build a staircase that functions as a bridge".
  11. Of all the tracks to arrange in Psychonauts, I wouldn't have expected this one. Nice main theme cameo. Oh, and the game pic so should have been Boyd Cooper.
  12. Majora's Mask- The hell? Better than Ocarina of Time. I've probably splooged elsewhere on this, so I could elaborate on demand.
  13. Only two votes for Psychonauts? How disgusting.
  14. You know what would be awesome? The Engine Room from Rusty Bucket Bay done metal.
  15. Every time I see a game over screen, I'm taken out of the experience that little bit more, and I'm less inclined to continue playing. Easy games that still make me feel that make me feel like I'm accomplishing something cool plzkthx.
  16. Diddy Kong Racing- YES Better than MK64, for truth- you all know it. Weapons that rely not on luck, but skill. A single player mode that has some semblance of progress. Planes. A totally awesome Dave Wise soundtrack. I'd recommend Chadly's second 'hardcore' gamer to play less, appreciate more. Should something like Fallout 2 not be recognised because some people bite off more than they can chew?
  17. N64 Banjo-Kazooie Conker's Bad Fur Day Diddy Kong Racing Jet Force Gemini Rayman 2: The Great Escape The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask PC Grim Fandango The Curse of Monkey Island
  18. Just replace 'Rareware' with 'Nintendo' and you're good to go.
  19. General Scales should totally be the Star Fox boss, only to bail out at the last second for someone completely different.
  20. -I'll vouch for that one at least. Rare often use their manuals to expand their plots. -The Toyota quote was meant as a joke, and wasn't really intended for final use. -Buggered if I can remember where I got that Prince quote from. Pretty sure it would appear in the credits, if anywhere. I'd probably remove it. You can never have enough in this thread. Thumbs up from me.
  21. Viva Pinata! Sincerely hope it finds its audience this time round.
  22. Well, next time I read this one I'll be stopping six pages before the end, that's for sure. Otherwise, thumbs up. Can't wait to see Godric's Hollow on film. Dobby..
  23. SPOILERS I half expected Sirius to say "Fly, you fools!" before falling through the veil. It was so similar I almost laughed. Otherwise it was okay, but Azkaban is still far and away the best book and film.
