  1. That's an amazing story Trapical. My school has nice history of senior pranks. I'll list what comes to mind: -Stacking up desks outside their classrooms -Showing up nude -Editing a school video with the "Rejected" internet cartoon -Stealing a teacher's coffee mug and holding it hostage for months. Here's some plottings for this year. Nothing's really interesting enough to warrant a prank though: -Our school has a uniform of tan pants and white shirts. Thus we wear tan shirts and white pants. -Buy signs like "Employees Only" and "Beware of Dog" and post them all around school -Hack the computer network somehow...
  2. I had this dream that seemed to flow like a videogame. I was in an environment where I had to align a raft for a woman jumping off a ledge. I missed again (I think I tried multiple times) so to save time and reset the scene I jumped into the river to end my life. After jumping in and sinking like a stone for two seconds I realized I wasn't in a game and was going to die. I sunk some more and fainted from the water pressure. Then I woke up. >.> I think my dreams are trying to tell me something.
  3. I've seen consoles hooked up to computers at USC with those kinds of screens. They looked very high end.
  4. I was disappointed with that mission. spoilers: I only had to save three of them to pass the mission.
  5. So it's about anticipating the sequel is it? That's really awful for the creators involved.
  6. can't stick around gotta keep moving on guess what lies ahead only ONE WAY TO FIND OUT must keep on moving ahead no time for guesses follow my fdhweui instead just jdfhwe on what you can be ewfjhwefwehwjlwdhwl follow me dwjf in me trust me and we can ESCAPE FROM THE CITY I'll MAKE IT THROUGH ME AND YOU FOLLOW ME
  7. I'll skip the context and get to the point: In the movie industry, composers compose the score, the movie gets released, and they get a steady stream of royalties for a while. In the videogame industry, composers get payed a lump of money and move onto the next project. Why is that?
  8. I played through Classic and Adventure mode in Melee today. It's been around three years since I last played them so it almost felt new to me. My heart rate was up and I was sweating it pretty hard. Giga Bowser's tough stuff.
  9. After that the difficulty settles down for a bit. It doesn't get insanely hard again for a while.
  10. see bold I'm not liking this level-up stuff very much. It's a great excuse to replay missions yes, I hate constantly equipping for every mission. Also why do we need 4 skill rings?
  11. Always possible. How can I check those things?
  12. PC, Windows XP I've been using the standard Bit Torrent client on bittorrent.com for a couple years without many problems. Last month the client completely stopped connecting to trackers (it couldn't locate them). I don't recall any changes to my internet connection around that time (DSL wireless router). I tried swapping to a different client, bittornado, and had the same connecting problems. Around that time I also tried downloading a file through mIRC. I connected to the channel and found the and communicated with a bot, but it couldn't connect and send me the file. I suspect this is somehow related. Thoughts?
  13. I see why Matt chose that review score despite the rest of his review suggesting something higher. He wanted to make a point to the Sonic team to get rid of the programming glitches that still plague Sonic games. I can respect that. Posted this in the Wii thread but hey whatever: Snagged the last copy of Sonic Wii at my Toys R Us. I've played for about an hour now. The game looks really great, but the menu music is kinda bad. The first set of missions are tutorials that end in around 10 seconds, so the music recurs a lot more than I would like. English voice acting is awful. I swapped to Japanese right away. Much more pleasant. Controls don't feel spot on, but that's part of the learning curve I think. I felt the same way about Excite Truck at first but now I can steer through anything. Speaking of which, Sonic feels a lot like Excite Truck with the sensitivity dulled down a bit. Sonic's jumping is handled differently this time around, where the height of the jump depends on how long you hold down the jump button. Not what I'm used to, but it works within the game design. Shaking the remote to attack feels REALLY good, but I need to work on the timing a bit. The level-up system isn't taught seemlessly, but it's pretty easy to figure out, and you'll want to figure it out fast. Sonic's pretty sluggish at the beginning. Overall, if you liked the better of the Sonic Adventure titles, you'll probably like this game a fricken lot.
  14. I have no fun without items. Then again I play as Kirby...

  16. I don't think I trust IGN's review scores for Sonic games. Matt essentially gave the game a 6.9 because the experience isn't evolved and refined. Good review, bad review score. 7.5 range seems fair.
  17. I BEAT ELITE BEAT AGENTS!!! I can do anything now. Also beat Kirby DS. Despite being mostly recycled content from the GBA Kirbies, it has the Kirby feel that makes the series so wonderful. <3 Beat Pheonix Wright recently too.
  18. The storyline in Diddy Kong Racing is fundamentally flawed: why did taj have all the balloons? If wizpig was terrorizing the island and all the animals were fighting him, why did they then compete against each other to get the balloons rather than working together? If they were that important for getting wizpig to leave, why didn't taj just give them to diddy and his friends? The stats for all three kongs in the DS version are terribly poor and worse than the original characters - so why did they even send for diddy's help in the first place?
  19. EDIT: Yeah Monkey Ball blows. Awful job AV. :\ No way. Wii's momentum is better than ever. I'm still working on my launch games (Excite Truck, Elebits, Monkey Ball) and there's Wario Ware and Wii Play I still have to buy. Sonic comes out next week. I also spend a lot of time with the channels now, mostly Internet and News, dipping into Forecast and EBV every few days. Virtual console titles close the gap with recent purchases of Kid Icarus and Comix Zone. I haven't been in a state of gaming this constant in my entire life. Don't get me started on my DS backlog....
  20. This thread gravitates towards Sonic and the Secret Rings.
  21. Until you get those moments when you tap too lightly for the screen to detect. #$%&!
  22. My teacher once ranted about a time when it was almost impossible to keep in touch with friends he didn't see regularly. There were no online networks or even cell phone networks for that matter. People had to write letters to each other, and be consistent about it too. For the entire first semester of college, my teacher had no friends at all. Facebook > null
