  1. Cool. I'll drop by this thread again if I run into any issues.
  2. I'll be there with my girlfriend if I remember to buy tickets. >_< No go on a meetup. sorry. Are you going to cosplay as anyone/thing?
  3. SUCKERS!!! Macs can zoom in on the screen 1600x.
  4. I'm impressed with domainsvision's hosting services, but I do have a few questions. All the domain names I own were bought through directnic.com. Do I have to pay a fee to move those around? Also, I want to create a portfolio site in addition to my kwarp.com one. Is it possible to keep both sites on one server plan, or would I need two separate ones? In you case for Wordpress, you downloaded an installer and just host everything on your own server space? That's pretty nice. I like that.
  5. http://www.kwarp.com I've had this website for about 2.5 years and it needs a bit of a change. I'll be as specific as I can about what I want: -I like blogs. I can write a bit, throw in pretty pictures, and have the server archive all my entries in a neat organized manner. The easier to update, the better. That's primarily what I want to do with this website. -I also want the ability to embed .swf files (mostly viewing content but also site navigation if possible) -and host mp3 files Here's my current situation with servers: I pay nothing and get some nice webspace on a business server, but that could suddenly disappear at any time. I also have limited programming options, and can really only interact with the server through PERL, which I don't find desirable. So I've got three options: 1) Stick on the current server if there's an easy solution 2) Join a blogging site that suits my needs (Would I pay? How much? Can my domain names redirect to my blog?) 3) Buy some server space (I fear this is expensive). Wisdom please!
  6. You're probably better off dropping by apple's support message boards. Lessee here... http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=120 I presume you still want to keep using the computer if you can. First off, see if you're under warranty (1st year of ownership). If so, take it to a mac genius and they'll fix your computer free of charge. If the warranty has expired.. dunno.. you could try installing the OS again and hope it works. See what the apple boards have to say about it.
  7. Sonic RPG makes sense to me, Sonic Western RPG does not. I predict more info at E3.
  8. You also gave us no information about your game at all.
  9. 2008 sounds good then. I'll hold out and see how Banjo-Threeie fares.
  10. Hey guys, now that the 360 has been out a while and a few games catch my interest, I thinking about picking one up. I'll be blunt: I see the console's processing power as a shallow gimmick (online is what appeals to me mostly). I understand processing power creates higher-quality graphics and physics which is nice, but "more of the same but only better" isn't quite what I'm after. I guess what I'm asking is if anyone's played a 360 game that uses processing power in an innovative way, something that delivers a fresh new gaming experience.
  11. I had this happen to me a few years ago. Drack's got the right idea. Most likely all your files are safe and sound, but not quite accessible. In my case, I had a second copy of windows installed, and I just poked around files in the old windows until I found my things.
  12. well maybe in adventure mode...
  13. We've already got Metaknight and the Halberd. Nothing else is necessary.
  14. I am liking this slow supply of information.
  15. Good point TheCoop. With the business model Microsoft has, they must handle it that way. Perhaps the business model is to blame then. Microsoft sells their OS on CDs alongside an activation key. The CDs they can legally copyright, but they can't do so with activation keys. That ambiguity forces Microsoft to be extremely stringent with how their OS is distributed. Alternatively, Apple sells their OS as part of the hardware package, and effectively avoids those problems. Perhaps Microsoft should try a similar approach: force the PC hardware distributors to handle the OS, in turn containing all legal and piracy issues within. Keep the consumers out of the picture entirely. Meh, I guess I'll buy an activation key then...
  16. The salesman at the store told me it will install for 2 or 3 computers, and with a price for $300 that seemed to make sense. It seems the fine print actually says it installs for only one computer, right at the bottom in the middle of a paragraph, not even in bold or italics. I'm unhappy at the store, Microsoft, and myself. Mostly Microsoft.
  17. I went and bought Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 (2002) to install on a few Intel Macs. Turns out the $300 copy only registers to 1 computer. I need it on 2 and have to get another serial key (25-digit code). So I'm unhappy. Suggestions?
  18. Phoenix Wright brought out that feeling of magic I used to feel when I first got into videogames. I had never before played a text-based game been so exciting or entertaining. I'm going to wait patiently for 3 and 4 to hit the US. Spacing out my playtime makes the series more refreshing to get back into.
  19. Why not make a "non-competitive" mode where no wins or losses are counted? EDIT: Yes Malo Mart is win. Anyone have an opinion on Mario Party 8? I've seen pretty bad reviews.
  20. Around 1997, my public elementary school had a PC game in their computer lab. The game was consisted mostly of puzzle minigames to guide creatures that resembled lemmings on a journey to their new home. Most of the minigames were in isometric 3D. Ideas?
  21. Kinda iffy on the Upstage. I don't like the aesthetic. Essentially what I want to do is load my cell phone with videogame ringtones. I either want to program the tunes in on the phone, or connect via USB or Bluetooth. It MUST have the durability of a Nintendo product. I also figure text-messaging is a must. A color screen would be nice. I have no need for a camera phone.
  22. I don't recommend Kororinpa, you can beat the whole game in 3 hours. Mercury Meltdown comes out in a couple weeks at $30, and reviews seem overwhelmingly positive.
  23. Currently I own this Jurassic Park monstrosity: Drop-proof and water resistant of course, but quite outdated in media capabilities. For under $200, I want a cell phone capable of custom ring tones and text messaging. My cell phone plan just expired, so I can chose from any phone network. Suggestions?
