The desire for live recordings is an American cultural aspect derived from our history with Cinema. Japan grew up differently and doesn't consider orchestration as important. Neither synthetic music nor orchestras are inherently better than another. Some artists are simply more capable of composing (in this case adapting) their music more in one style than another. Brawl's music right now strikes me as an oddity. The music is composed in an orchestrated style, but performed with syths that don't sound very balanced. They must be works in progress, to be either orchestrated or equalized.

Oh, actually I have 34 DS games. I pop through these things like gumballs... No more DS games for me until Phantom Hourglass.

We probably won't hear anything from Nintendo until the Tokyo Game Show at the earliest. Oh well.

Oddly, I like this arrangement quite a lot. Then again, the source material carries the song pretty far. Admittedly, the instrumentation is rather meh. (no nostalgia here btw, played Kid Icarus for the first time when it hit the VC)

SEGA's taken notice of the fake list and I'll bet they're observing consumer interest. We might see some of those games in the future.

I second that. Those things on max power took 100 degree Los Angeles Weather down to 85. It's the only way I could sleep in USC's dorm rooms last summer.

I've been there a couple times myself. The one with the huge NiGHTS poster on the wall right? The store's in a pretty dangerous area. Another good place to look is Japan, but you might need a native to help you out. (my trip caught me Hoshi no Kirby, Kirby's Pinball Land , Ouendan 1 & 2, Jump Superstars and Jump Ultimate Stars)

RPG? I'm thinking worse-case route and not expecting it to ever be finished. Really those things are nightmares to make.

This defeats the point of a single-player mode, but I wonder if The Subspace Emissary will have co-op...

I'm starting to see where the limits are. OSes and browsers are just a means to access content, so music composed for those mediums don't fall under game. However, the ambiguity does appear when games and browsers merge into a single entity like the Wii's Photo Channel. As DJP said, those issues fall into judgement territory. That works for me. (philosophy is fun )

I don't completely buy that argument because I'm not convinced that the Mii channel isn't a game. I would consider online doll-maker programs as games, as well as race customization modes in Oblivion. How does OCR define these activities? I dropped by Wikipedia, but their definition of a game is strategically vague. *sigh*

The movie had some clever, unpredictable jokes. Good movie.

A vast majority of PC users don't need the latest tech to do their job. The only exceptions lie in the area of top tier film editing, top tier sound composition, a tiny portion of game development, and a few insane photoshop artists. That can't amount to more than a million people.
