  1. This mix is good for maybe twenty seconds, but it gets really old really quickly. The sounds used are pretty cool, but the arrangement just takes about a five second riff and plays it over and over, and the variations are insufficient to make it interesting. I'm not familiar with the original, so perhaps it's just because the original only has one riff and is really boring and repetetive as well. I'm sorry to say that this is not one of DarkeSword's better mixes.
  2. Awesome. Any arrangers who need an acoustic guitarist let me know.
  3. wow, this is definitely one of my new favorites. Those vocals are absolutely haunting, and sound absolutely real (except at that one point where they go insanely high -- but though they don't sound real at that point, they still sound very beautiful)
  4. You might try PMing some of the people who have already offered their vocal talents. I think a lot of people don't really check back on this topic after posting their talents here.
  5. I never would have guessed. Getting back to the subject (ie the song we're supposed to be reviewing here), I'm not particularly a trance fan, but I must admit that this is pretty damn cool.
  6. Wow. Huh? What? Damn, I dunno where such an idea as this comes from, but it kicks ass. It's really bizzare, but it's awesome.
  7. Wow. This is definitely one of the best remixes I've ever heard. A gorgeous arrangement with very realistic instruments.
  8. HAHA! Nice work, PriZm. To be honest, I found the WIP version of this far less impressive than "bowser is pissed," but now that I hear the finished version, this is definitely one of my favorites. Great job!
  9. Nice. The vocals remind me a lot of "Mockingbird" by Eminem. Not necessarily a good thing, but not necessarily bad. Overall, I'd say this is a very solid mix.
  10. Hace mucho tiempo que oye un remix tan bakan como eso. Eso es megasexy.
  11. Flute player wanted. And richter, I highly reccomend you contact the prophet of mephisto. EDIT: Nevermind, I can take care of it myself.
  12. I like it! Thank you. Now I just need to host it... but I'll probably be using it within then next couple days. Thanks!
  13. I guess I wouldn't mind having a real sig. Preferably something involving guitars and/or Xenogears and/or the Chrono series. I'm not picky, just something cool looking.
  14. I'm definitely going to take a look at this one. I guess rubber suit man has first dibs on it, but like I said, I'd be happy to take it if he doesn't.
  15. Damn, rubber suit man beat me to it. If for any reason rubber suit dude can't do it, pm me and I'll be happy to. I also can't read sheet music, but can play very well by ear.
  16. Mods, it would be nice if instead of making people scroll through page after page of performers offering their skills, we had a running list in the first post that could be edited as needed when somebody else offers. Just a thought.
  17. Everybody, I think as well as listing what you have to offer as far as performance, you should also list what you have available as far as gear, because unfortunately, that's sometimes just as important. If you're the best singer/guitarist/saxist/whatever in the world, it's still useless to the rest of us unless we know you can get a quality recording of it. Demos are also a good idea, if possible.
  18. I think this just might be the single best remix on this site. With the exception of one or two on Time and Space, this is probably the best remix I've ever heard. Sheer brilliance, that's all I can say. This is how Zelda's Lullaby was MEANT to sound.
  19. Any flute players? A live flute player would be very helpful with this mix I'm working on.
  20. Hey, mods, is there any chance we could get this sticky-fied?
  21. I play guitar, irish whistle, and keyboards. Acoustic guitar is my specialty. I'm very proficient at finger picking, especially that folky-country-type stuff (see my "Town Life" collab with djp). I'm okay but not spectacular at classical. And, of course, I can do plain ole' chord strumming just fine. I can do electric guitar reasonably well. Either rythm or lead work is fine with me. I'm not all that great at high-speed shredding, but I can generally do more mellow melodic work pretty well. I can also write a guitar part to go along with your mix. In addition to guitars, I play irish whistles and keyboards. On Irish whistle, I'm reasonably good. My whistle is a high D whistle, but unlike a pan flute, an Irish whistle can hit sharps/flats, so if your stuff is in another key I may still be able to play it (D and G are the easiest keys for me, though). I'll give pretty much anything a try. An irish whistle has about a 2 octave range. The lowest note I can hit is D one octave above middle C. I have also now aquired a low whistle, which plays in the same key, but one octave lower. It sounds unbelievably sexy. I'm planning on buying a lower whistle as well. I'll edit this post again once I have it. Here's a list of what gear I have available: -A Yamaha s03 keyboard synth (has pretty good piano patches) -A Yamaha FG-80 steel-stringed acoustic guitar -A Line6 Variax 300 steel-stringed acoustic modeling guitar -A soundhole pickup -A Shure SM57 microphone -E-MU 1212m audiocard -A Squier Standard Stratocaster electric guitar -An SFX-02 Tweak Fuzz pedal -Crate VTX15 electric guitar amp -A Mackie 1202-VLZ mixer -A Feadog high D irish whistle -A Humphrey Journeyman high D irish whistle -A Burke low D irish whistle -A Chilean pan flute For electric guitars, I generally use VST amp modelers (either Guitar Suite or Amplitube) rather than my real amp, as they usually sound much better. I cannot read lead tabs or sheet music. I'll be learning the parts by ear.
  22. This is how this tune was meant to be played. Absolutely brilliant, and one of the best-done orchestras I've heard in a mix.
  23. I wish I could participate. Unfortunately, I lack the gear/software/money required to convincingly synthesize an orchestra.
  24. Sounds like a great idea, but I think you're making a mistake by excluding piano. Pianos are sometimes (I'll admit not frequently, but sometimes) used in movie soundtracks to spectacular effect.
