  1. I still have Bible Adventures, and I used to have Bible Buffet, the BEST CHRISTIAN / COLOR DREAMS GAME EVER MADE. SO GREAT I MUST TYPE IN ALL CAPS. Yeah, Bible Buffet is like a random mash-up of Mario Party and Zelda. All of the enemies and levels are made of food. Best party game ever made! *Stumbles over to amazon to buy another copy* Edit: Also, Spiritual Warfare is a great Zelda ripoff. It gets pretty tough to beat as well. Both Spiritual Warfare and Bible Buffet are worth the money.
  2. Third Strike is metal. Ryu's sidekick of death is metal. Kudos for Chun Li's thunder thighs. LOL!
  3. This is one extremely unpredictable console war, but I think that the PS3 will surpass the 360. Sony still has its fans, and those fans are coming out more and more with the price drops and releases of games that don't suck. The 360 will always have its market though. I just think that the pie is big enough for all three now. I predict that the PS3 will be the biggest home console in Japan. Wait until Final Fantasy 13 comes out. They won't have a choice, and neither will many Americans. The Wii? Who knows, it might be the biggest selling console all around in a few years, but regardless all three will be successful.
  4. He has some pretty big shoes to fill for the Omega Man. If he lays off of the 'Vintage 2004' crap and doesn't act too cheesy, he might do a good job.
  5. So, last night, I downloaded Blue's Journey for virtual console. I don't know why. Maybe it was the screen shots that remind me of fantasy zone. People, this is one messed up game, and for some odd reason, I don't feel cheated. There's tons of great Engrish and crazy Japanese weirdness. Everything looks like an acid trip (like Fantasy Zone or Wonder Boy), and the shop keeper is in a stripper outfit (and has huge breasts). There's also a lot of weird "Japanese" voice acting and possibly the most retarded ending I have ever seen. It didn't take long to beat, but I appreciate the game for it's weirdness and uniqueness. The game play is pretty fun, with a ton of different power-ups, and weapons that increment in power. You can also grow and shrink at any time to go from power to speed. You can play with a friend (yes, has coop) when they come over, and they will go "What the hell is this weirdness?" Oops, I just wrote a review. Has anyone else tried this game?
  6. I met Tsunami Bomb back when I was about 16 or 17. They kept bumming cigarettes off of me. That's back when they were on Hunter's (from AFI) label. They were a good band. Well, if you're looking for an awesome power metal band, listen to Dark Moor. They have a guy singer now, but check out their older stuff, especially their best album, Gates of Oblivion. It's sublime power metal. Catchy, hard-hitting, and rarely cheesy. The singer, Elisa, has an amazing voice and range. Only a woman with that extra girth can sing like that. My favorite female vocalist is Cyndi Lauper. I think it will remain that way for a long time.
  7. Okay thanks dudes. I'm playing the whole game other with the other guy, and it's been fun so far, because I know where everything is.
  8. SPOILER ALERT... Keep going.... Alright. At the beginning, the princess says that the has "something to give you", but she never gives you anything. Do you have to beat the game with Luigi too? I've gotten all 120 stars and the extended ending, but that part still doesn't make sense to me. Also, how do you make the text white? I tried using an html font property, but it didn't work.
  9. I went looking for the movie at the store, but it they had only ordered one and someone bought it. Still haven't picked it up, although I plan to. I know that it was made by the same guy who did Sea Prince and Fire Child, which is really good. I will see it eventually. Also, I've had that duel on my mp3 player for 3 weeks now, I love it.
  10. R.I.P. I'm not very familiar with his remixes, but I will give them all a listen now.
  11. Legacy of the Wizard and Fantasy Zone (that's right, I'm mentioning them for the 1,000th time). Amazingly catchy, unique music but not a single remix from either game on this site. Legacy of the Wizard's music is similar to melodic power metal, and Fantasy Zone has some crazy acid jazz thing going on. There's nothing like it. Other games with good soundtracks (and a severe shortage of remix attention): Final Fantasy Mystical Quest - Final Fantasy with heavy metal? It was quite a shock when I first played the game. The non-metal tracks are solid too. Ninja Gaiden 3 - the first two haven't even been milked completely, but 3 gets no respect). Has lots of cool 'power metally' songs with minor 'verses' and major 'choruses' Little Nemo: The Dream Master - I know there are mixes, but c'mon, there's not one for every single track lol. Soundtrack has much variation in style (from rock to jazz to classical), but is extremely consistent in goodness. Smart Ball (a.k.a. Jelly Boy) - This game has cool music that fits the surroundings in the game. I can't explain it. Get an emu and play the game. Blaster Master - still underrated
  12. The only VC release that I cared about this month was Magician Lord. Here's hoping for Ducktales, Battletoads and Double Dragon, and Super Fantasy Zone. This is my dream lineup for next week. It won't happen - not a single one of these games.
  13. I've got to get Sonic Mega Collection back from my brother. My favorites are Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles. Plus, Ristar is awesome.
  14. ^ I disagree with almost everything about your post. Galaxy has a unique story, especially for a Mario game (for example, involving the concept of reincarnation). The sub-story is extremely capable of evoking emotion, and the ending battle is epic (although it's a bit too easy). There's one thing I didn't like about the ending, which deals with an unresolved issue. Maybe you know what that 'something' is. Edit: I wouldn't mind something like Super Mario RPG though. Also, I've never played Ratchet and Clank, so I can't really say anything about that.
  15. Well damn, I just just kept jumping off every time a cut my tie with a coin. I'm going to beat the shit out of it tonight.
  16. Do you only have to get 100 coins? Every time I miss a coin, I jump into the pit to make myself die. But if you only have to get 100.... that wouldn't be too bad.
  17. I'm at 106 stars right now, and I must say, HOLY CRAP this is hard. Those purple coin missions are TORTURE. And that daredevil run in molten galaxy was a pain in the ass. I still haven't beaten the purple coin mission in toy galaxy. Oh well, I'll have to suck it up. Gotta get all 120.
  18. I agree with you. A lot of NES, SNES, and Genesis games are still way more fun than today's games. Sonic The Hedgehog on Genesis? They still can't find a better formula for Sonic. The old Mario games are fun regardless of nostalgia - Yet it can't be (fairly) compared to games like Mario 64 and Galaxy can because they are vastly different games. A Link To The Past is still a blast to play, but it's entirely different than Twilight Princess or Ocarina. It should be compared to games like Minish Cap, which play similarly. I'm an old school gamer, and most of the new games I choose to play are shaped by the games I liked back then. Those old games are still good, but nostalgia is such worthless bias when a superior version of a game is released.
  19. I had to work really damn hard to get one. I went looking (specifically for a Wii) over ten times, and came back empty handed - Then someone here on OCR, who I can't remember, told me that big shipments were going to Best Buy stores on a certain day. I went, and I was next to the last in line. The last guy was a coworker. I picked up that Wii and walked back to my car with great pride and the chummiest grin you would ever see. I was pissed off during launch, because all of these random people, who could give two shits less about Nintendo, were there because of the hype. The same people who get hyped over the PS3, the IPhone, or whatever else. I hate those people. I couldn't get the Wii because the trend whores out there were getting them first. Anyway, when I got one, it felt damn good. Best $250 I've ever spent. Edit: Wow, I curse a lot.
  20. Me too (well, in a year from now for sure, because my library is growing). And it would be cool if we could store music, photos, and the like on there, as well as play our own music to games that have crappy music. Why Nintendo is so reluctant on this I have no idea.
  21. ^ While I admit the graphics have aged poorly, I still enjoy the game. I think a remake of Ocarina would be cool (yes, as much as I hate Ocarina fanboys, I am one). Also, here's a question: At the beginning of Wind Waker, the story says that the hero never came after the Hero Of Time, and the world was then covered in water. Now, Twilight Princess happens 100 or something years after Ocarina - If that hero never came, then who is the hero in Twilight Princess? Seriously, I wish Nintendo would have kept the story consistent, like they did with Metroid. And what about Zelda 1 and 2? Is that like super-ancient Hyrule?
  22. Great game, but Galaxy has usurped it. It has everything good about Mario 64 and then some, yet there are still people arguing that it's almost as good as 64, when Galaxy is superior in every way. Nostalgia. That's why I love Mega Man 2 so much.
  23. Hell no. A Link To The Past was better than Ocarina of Time, and Galaxy is significantly better than both Ocarina and Mario 64. It's about time one of the most overrated, fanboy-worshipped games of ALL TIME got booted down. The only reason why people are convinced Ocarina is so great is because of nostalgia. But it's a fact that if you take away that nostalgia, Twilight Princess easily takes a piss all over it.
  24. I'd just be happy with a fucking 10-gig external hard drive.
  25. You don't. You just play and kick their ass. It's not the Gilmore Girls, it Smash Brothers, Atma. Sheesh.
