  1. I believe there's an offsite animal crossing project.. based solely around the K.K. songs...
  2. Awesome! Welcome to Nick. Haven't seen you around before, so yeah... Side note: This is quite possibly the best idea I've ever taken credit for.
  3. This one is like... half-joking... Kind of a joke theme.. I'll post a new one Monday. Probably going to run Monday to Monday
  4. Har. Happy +1, you sneaky, sneaky dude...
  5. Hello and welcome! This post is a spur of the moment thing, and completely and totally impulsive. Hello, and welcome to FPHC01!~ FPHC stands for Four-Part Harmony Competition, and this compo will take entries based on themes or lyrics where the entrant has written a multi-part harmony to fit the theme. Yes, this is a singing compo. RULES: 1) Entrant must write a 2, 3, or 4-part harmony which uses most, if not all, of the words provided in sequence, or repetition. (Use common sense). 2) Entrants are NOT ALLOWED TO USE ANY FORM OF AUTOTUNING. This includes any proper auto-tuner, vocoders, etc. Anybody caught using any autotuner will be disqualified. 3) Either upload to your own webspace, and PM me the link (DO NOT POST YOUR ENTRY IN THE THREAD OR YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED) or email the song to me at [email removed] 4) Entrants may supply only one entry. 5) Collabs are allowed, and encouraged. If you participate in a collab, you may enter with either 1 collab, 1 solo and 1 collab, or 2 collabs (with different people). 6) Entries must be 100% A Capella. "i'm double majoring in mechanical engineering and physics, i use to draw everyday for years, but i wana pick up the pencil again, my singing is getting half way decent, i'm almost as good as frank sinatra, but i haven't been training that much lately, i've reached world class status in 3 video games, i'm barely starting to play racquet ball, i have terrible flexibility and i probably will never have good flexibility" Notes: This will end in such a short period of time because there is already painful amounts of interest on IRC, and I just posted the link. Further FPHCs will have more advance notice... yey...
  6. Yeah, the site is still good to go, I'm just not remixing anymore.
  7. So I regret to inform that I'm withdrawing from the project. Best of luck to all.
  8. I think the hoops reference meant the "Run this race, then race a boss, then run the silver coin challenges of each race, then rematch the boss, then run each of the races again in the trophy challenge, then do the T.T. challenge for that world. Rinse, repeat 4 more times then unlock Adventure Two, which is mirror imaged tracks and impossible Silver Coin locations... " aspect of DKR (I just played through it earlier this week)
  9. I recently saw a Starcraft:Terran submission, Piano Solo up on the panel... shut down, though...
  10. 0'42" - sounds fine to me. 2'31" - I REALLY like that chord that's there... Because it starts with a chord that fits, then hits that note, then goes back... I think it should stay...
  11. Anything you add to this needs to be added in extreme moderation... You want things to add flavor, as opposed to adding another lead voice... EDIT: Also, I had to do a double-take when I saw my name in the URL... And I'm like... "I've seen your name before", then I remembered Brad's "I want to build you a computer" thread... =D Tip for Mr. Sexyphone: Place the microphone a little further away so all of the key clicks don't get picked up by the mic.
  12. Good times, indeed. Also, true IRC ninjas are in too many channels to always pay attention to what happens in any given channel at all times... I'd say there's actually... around... 15 minutes per day on average that I actually pay attention to the channel, plus any time added for highlights... Most people that I actually want to talk to, I have their AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Skype, or phone number...
  13. Taucer figured that one out at the DC VGL meetup
  14. Happy +1, even though it's all your fault...
  15. This question is specifically for Israfel: What happened to that OWA remix you had A WHILE ago. It wasn't posted on OCR, but was on your site a while back. And I downloaded it, and lost the CD it was burned to. To all of the judges: I know that as a newb to meetups, I was really excited to go to one (DC VGL!). I've only attended 2 so far, counting MAGFest, and I feel every bit as excited about going to the next one. As judges, and somewhat community moderators, you see and hear the best and worst from most everybody. Does this change how you feel about meeting up? Do you, as established, prominent jdgfgts feel the same sort of anticipation before meetups that you used to feel?
  16. I'm not a judge, but working with someone of greater skill doesn't make you a better remixer. Practicing, along with some good natural talent will improve your mixing. Sounds like you want to know judges are willing to collab with newbs to give newbs a free ride to the front page.
  17. That's why you make it sound like what you want it to sound like. Otherwise, find a live performing group that you can explain it to.
  18. Very weak throughout. Try to make your chords differ from the note the melody plays. Very empty. Nothing going on. 4:38 is very long for as little entertainment value as this mix carries.
  19. File updated. I recorded that MP3 straight from the OST I had. Bass channel wasn't coming through, so I got a new one.
