  1. And on that note... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
  2. Updated your sources. Also... Check http://wiki.thasauce.net/index.php?title=Freshly_Baked_ReMixer_Challenge#Challenges for the most up to date challenges list. Hopefully Rama updates his first post sometime soon.
  3. Whoa... o.O I need to check out threads in Comm more often. These shirts are awesome.
  4. Ah... Mr. Akago. Been a while since I've seen your name pop up around here. I'm currently at school, so I can't listen to anything, but I'll check them out when I get home... (~7 hours from this post). No promises, though. I've got a lot going on already. Also, if there's one in particular that you REALLY want to see, which usually will have a better chance of have that request fulfilled, then post your suggestion/challenge here: http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=14364
  5. Wow. I totally forgot about this thread because it failed so hard. Then checked it this morning and lolled.
  6. So click the link... And when it gives you the 403, click on Go (Or your browser equivalent) and it will start the download
  7. I already sent Rama an MP3 ripped from the .gbs. He'll update the first post at some point. Songs that have been requested that are generally less remixable by nature for one reason or another.
  8. If memory serves correctly, Crescent Island was recently the source tune of a PRC... 98, I think...
  9. And on that note, the more work I have to do for your request, the more I un-<3 you, but the more Rama doesn't know the difference. So please, think of the underlings. pCe
  10. Well, I picked up your track about 5 minutes before I had to leave, and since it's a 4 minute track, I didn't get to really listen a lot, but my general thoughts are this: - Because of the nature of the source tune, your remix is very incoherent. - Once you get past the dreadfully long intro (1:04 is a bit long), there's a lot of stuff happening. Guitars, synths, bass, percussion. All in the same range, trying to grab my attention. Work on some EQ'ing, because everything sounds really muddy at this point. - There's not a lot of energy through this piece, which makes your slower sections seem slower. Also, by the time the 3:00 mark rolls around the string hits are getting old. - Around 3:15-ish or so, when this new synth comes in again, it starts to blend with everything else you have going on, again. Overall thoughts: Needs a lot of work. Some good ideas, but it needs to be cleaned up and checked for repetitious strings throughout the piece. Hope that helps.
  11. First attempted remix (failed. Shot down here, quicklike. 3-way collab. DJBren, ReaktorZer0, Me): http://www.escariot.net/nbots/Castlevania_Adventure_Stokers_Deathwish.mp3
  12. Well, I joined this forum in early 2004. This coming leap day marks my 4 year anniversary as a member of the forums/site. I once attempted a failed remix collab in early 2005 (http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2599). I then helped Aetherius start up the Link's Awakening project. I then took an 18 month break from the site. Lost inspiration, really. Then I came back. Just for the hell of it. Since I've come back I've attended two meetups, (VGL and MAGFest). I am now working on the SM64 project, and have a couple remixes that I'm working on. In the news of non-OCR related stuff. I was a member of, and am now an assistant director of my (old) high school's marching band and drumline. I write, arrange, and teach music to students. I had lost a lot of inspiration because at first, the reason I made music was to get it posted to the site. Now I come here, mostly just hang out on the forums and chat, and make music for my own enjoyment, and a project. If there's one tip that should go to newbies, it would be that you shouldn't come here and remix music specifically for the purpose of getting music posted to the site. Make music for your own enjoyment. Submit it if you want.
  13. http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=14364 Make your requests here in a couple weeks. I think I told the same thing to Mewtation at MAGFest re: Golden Sun projects. I mean, I've been around for quite a while, failed at a remix submission, working on a project at the moment, and have some shitty originals sitting around. I don't feel that I'm qualified to take on a project. One of the best things to do if you REALLY want to see some tracks remixed from a game is post in the requests forum, or find something like the Freshly Baked Challenge, where you can request song(s) to be remixed. It has already been said a couple times, but there are too many projects right now. Doom 2, Seiken Densetsu 3, Pokemon, Super Mario 64, Dragon Warrior, Tales Series, Crescendo to Chaos, MegaMan 4, Dirge for the Follin, Super Dodge Ball, Kirby Super Star... All of these projects are currently in the Projects forum. We either need to finish these projects, or purge the dead ones. Along with those projects, people are working on individual mixes, working on original music and albums, working jobs, working through school, and general life commitments. http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3232 This is what happens to "Back burner projects"
  14. I remember this project from when it started. LONG ago. Helped work with Aeth to setup the first website, which is still live, but not updated. Until I decided to take a break from the community. Came back, only to find that the project wasn't going anywhere. Now that it's officially dead, someone can probably remove it from the projects forum. Sad to see this project end the way it did.
  15. Why are people requesting now? Stop requesting. Nothing will be recorded until Phase 2. Which is... not now.
  16. Maktone is definitely the guy I was thinking of.
