That is before the A-Laws decided to kill millions with a press of a button. A bit silly that they'd do that considering they had the upper hand... As for an anime recommendation in general, I'd say Genius Party is a must watch if you ever need a reminder why anime is typically considered the tops in the animation genre and maybe in any media as to showing wonderment in audio-visual form. Some of them are literally eyepopping and unfortunately, they don't have a domestic DVD of it yet. But plucking it off of Tokyotosho is so worth it. Get it any way you can. Can't go wrong with a bunch of 15 minute shorts based off of the theme of 'birth' that just goes to every types of storytelling extremes you can think of.

Really good, as expected of Phantom. lol. It's really not the most innovative show, but it just does it so tastefully and with very good gravitas. And the music is just chilling at times. Amazing soundtrack, really. As for Berserk and Claymore, the most people can expect is maybe an OVA of Berserk or if there's enough demand (I doubt it), it might make it into an anime overhaul like Full Metal Alchemist did. At least with Claymore, they can do something about it, though Madhouse stupidly decided to go with an anime-original ending. Maybe they can do something about it... And speaking of Higurashi, the new show Umineko no Naku Koro Ni (When Seagulls Cry) is really good too. It's basically like Higurashi except with a mystery surrounding a witch instead of a rural god like in Higurashi.

Phantom had a really great first half and almost-too-similar-to-the-Professional second half. I hope it throws more curveballs because the show is solid so far. And yeah, this season's FMA is LEAGUES better than the last one. Mainly because this is the 'real story' of the manga and not some bastardization and hippie-hand-holding version of it. And the animation/music of EACH episode is amazing. It's obvious they pumped a lot of effort and money into this one. Bones seems to be doing that recently, the same story with Soul Eater before it. Now I'm getting around to Tokyo Magnitude 8.0. It's like a typical disaster movie, but except it's anime. lol

It's bound to have a lot of wacky and macabre humor. I hope it's at least Darkman levels of funny, dark, gruesome violence.

Samurai Sentai Shinkenger! Episode 26! The Fated Battle!!!
I-n-j-i-n replied to DarkeSword's topic in General Discussion
I don't follow Shinkenger since I have like... 50 anime shows and 15 American/British shows to keep track of, but the Sentai series has been good for the last 5 years or so. Kamen Rider to me, was still best during Kabuto and Den-O, but this season is getting gradually better. -
Very good point if online play if crucial to a gamer. I think some games like Resistance 2 actually has good netcode, but it's really annoying to think that every game has their own netcodes while the 360 has a rock solid code for EVERY online game out there. That is a major difference as far as console games online goes. And I don't touch Wii games online unless it's really fun to do so (mostly SSBB). At least the PS3 isn't TOTAL garbage online like the Wii is..

Video Game Sales Down for the Year
I-n-j-i-n replied to Avatar of Justice's topic in General Discussion
Well, the OBVIOUS answer is the economy. I literally am scrounging up pennies to pay for my games (makes for very embarrassing trips to Gamestop and Bestbuy..) Also, I think it's because compared to many recent years, there hasn't been a knockout game out in June this year. SF4, RE5 and most of the biggest 2009 games actually came out from February through May (when UFC started selling like hotcakes). And personally, I do feel that the gamers should support the industry if they love games. But I guess rampant piracy mostly targets PC gaming than consoles. And honestly, the pattern of buying one game and maybe 2 or 3 DLC games per month hasn't changed for me. In fact, I'm probably going to buy at least one Wii VC game, at least the Fallout DLC + Monkey Island + TMNT Reshelled + MvC2 + Batman Arkham and even a PS3 with a few games in August alone. -
^ I honestly think that is a pretty stupid reason. There are so many great arcade sticks out there. And if you think about it, the d-pad is only nominally better than the 360's too. Get a SF4 Tournament Edition stick and get it over with. I don't understand why people gripe when there's even the fight-pads if you must play d-pads.

It's cool and all, but it's a fake robot. Not really impressive other than as a cool, huge artpiece. I hate it when people call those giant artworks as actual 'robots'.

Wii is great for certain games (namely, NINTENDO games), but come on. PS3 is a full on multimedia platform. I still prefer the 360 overall due to its online features and a sturdier online community and more game-oriented nature of it all, but PS3 compared to the Wii is almost not even fair. If anything, I'm just slightly worried about the PS3 not having as many niche games as the PS2 did. Hell, it has less of it so far than the 360 does (even in Japan, which is plain weird.. though the PS3 has more obscure franchises like Yakuza series..) Give wads of points towards the Wii if retro game emulation on the big screen is your thing. Otherwise, PS3 and 360 all the way for me. I keep borrowing a PS3, but I'm too tempted to get the $400, Bestbuy PS3 + Killzone 2 + MGS4 combo.

Yeah, she does feel a bit like Akuma in that sense. I just don't like fighting her as Carl or something, because she has some very unexpectedly good close range options. That electricity is like Blanka's.. I hate it. Love it when I'm Rachel though. lol

One of the most tastefully done memorials I've ever seen. Also one of the best overall concert efforts I've seen. Only fitting for the occasion I guess. Even though I think MJ was probably broken in the head and might even have committed a dozen crimes (whatever they were), I guess all that matters is how the people reacted to it. Pretty sad that he truly was vilified before his death. Now to see if any of the kids become huge stars 10, 15 years from now.. This circus won't end and I have to admit it's actually been pretty fun. And surprisingly sad.

I really like Rachel, but lately it almost feels cheap to even use her since she is so powerful in so many ways and can even control the wind. She takes damage very, very badly though.. I really like Carl Clover nowadays because he's all trickery and mindgames over just dumbly throwing off fireballs or rushing in like with most other chatacers. And nothing is quite as fun as playing volleyball with my sis, Nirvana for 50% damage on the enemy. You can even tell they get totally disoriented by that.

This movie is in some ways, a total atrocity. It's fun in spurts and especially if the theater is having fun about it. But wow, it's the biggest bad-film-making ever, and it's beating almost all the good movies ever made numbers-wise. It's just very sad. Also, Spongebob-voice-guy does the racist twin robots. Wow.

While I still believe he probably did some molestin' action, a lot of it can go to his enablers that didn't do a terribly good job of parenting him. Even though he was an adult, a superstar, etc, he needed a real parenting even if it didn't come from within his own family. Just one of the grosses mistakes to let all the drug and pampering enablers take advantage of him and Michael also letting himself be taken advantage. Maybe some blame can go to his own blood and family since they are probably one of the least stable celebrity families ever recorded. And I'm peeved that some kids don't realize that as an artist, pound per pound, MJ probably was the best there ever was. I honestly don't care about hurt feelings there. If you can't appreciate his musical talents, then you simply have no taste in music. I honestly have no respect of MJ for what he could've done to the kids (yes, no 'inconclusive evidence'), but as a musician, he simply was the best and the most influential. Even though I don't like the broken human being himself, I'm not ashamed to say that I was a fan of his. It's a bit ironic because my playlist had the Thriller remix (2008 ) going before the day he died. Also with his voice... Not even man top artists can quite reach the notes he reaches with such ease. Just the tonality of his voice is simply different from many singers, popular or not. And as for the whole 'ooh, we wouldn't have missed him if he was alive', isn't that the point? MJ especially is a bit of a martyr of music since his talent was simply lost. That is basically the whole gist of death in general and the grieving/coming-to-terms with them. I also wouldn't really equate the deaths of every peoples to that of MJ. He had talent. I'm pretty sure I don't. lol

Asian popping almost annoys me since they're so good at it. LIKE AMERICAN CARS, THEY STEAL EVERYTHING. Anyway, this is the most aesthetically pleasing clock I know on the web. Not popping: http://www.uniqlo.jp/uniqlock/

Just went to a GameStop and strangely enough, some misinformed customers (actually teenagers..) wanted the 'Xbox Sensor' and a rude employee said 'we don't have them' and 'go play the Wii'. I can sort of see this becoming pretty popular if it's within the $100 mark. And I saw a lot of these weird, out-of-touch casual gamers go for the Wii when it first came out. Especially when it was all out of sale or in preorders. Snarky Gamestop employees versus misinformed customers. lulz

There are boring gimmicky games (Electroplankton) and there are the really fun-looking ones: I just hope they do something with all the creative ideas they have with it. People keep saying their mind is blown with the Keyboard Cat inclusion, but I also want rampant disregard for copyright laws by putting in Jason, Freddy and a ton of culture references.
-
What they need to do is incorporate Natal's technology with a Halo game, Gears of War game or some other big property (Modern Warfare 3? Or even doing something with Modern Warfare 2?) and package the whole thing together. I think people really are just waiting for that killer ap that uses it really well. Honestly I can't really say the same for the Wii about it except for a few games (the new Wii Sports game looks like it's actually going to use it in a big way). I just hope they're serious about the higher-fidelity controls for core-gamers thing they keep talking about.

^ I don't think it's too surprising. Some questions just come and go so quickly, there's not too much time to even think. Also, if everyone were geniuses at this kind of game, that'd sort of sap the fun IMO. I think the difficulty is basically perfect as is.
-
And yes to Ninja Gaiden difficulty. Maybe the one game on the Wii console that isn't a total pushover. Especially the Nintendo 1st/2nd party titles are concerned..
-
I wish the game was daily. I rather liked the actual 1 vs 100 show, even if it got short-ordered (or canceled if you want to put it harshly) on TV. But playing it is another thing alotgether. Especially with the avatars frolicking amongst others, it's something even the Wii's Mii's can't quite touch. Finally some real usage for the avatars and the game is really fun too. And when I saw the 'official' unveiling of the gameshow, I was sort of shocked too: DECEMBER? That's way too far away..
-
Hilarious. lol Anyway, from the sounds of things, it might have been foul play. Pretty disturbing. Not quite the "Chris Benoit doing Crippler Cross Face on his family then killing self", but close.
-
Looking at the gameplay, it does feel like... 90% Ninja Gaiden. Then again, the old Ninja Gaiden Black (NG1) on the Xbox had an incredible exploratory feel with all of the stages interconnecting before you know it. Maybe they can expand on that into this game.

360 basically the official console for shumps. Why are you even surprised to begin with? I just wish they at least get ported. Some really good ones haven't yet gotten any port-over news.
