  1. For all we know those are the congratulations screenies already.
  2. That post right there put you in a massive debt. If you don't understand, read the first post of the thread.
  3. Tales of the Abyss: NO Good and fun game, yes, but for good reason it shares the same flaws with Tales of Symphonia. Rez: YES Amazingly fun and addictive game. On a side note: Trance Vibrator which came with a protective covering? Wonder where you're supposed to put that thing when you're gaming, lol. Though to be fair, I never used it and only heard of it, so I don't know if it really adds to the experience or not. Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria: YES This game is incredible. The look and feel are your standard RPG look I suppose. Nothing too special there, but the game feels weird at first. Why do you ask? This is because the entire game world is 2D. You can only walk left and right and jump and crouch. Houses and shops are done by pressing up on the d-pad when at the location. The platforming in the game is excellent as well. The crystals add much potential to how high you can climb as long as you've got quick and steady hands. The combat is a strategic style with assigned AP points to your party, which can be customized a LOT. You get 20+ characters throughout the game and aren't obliged to use most of them if you don't want to. I'd rather not continue because there are still so many mechanics I've left to cover. Really though, this game is worth your time even if you don't have any time to spend. Also, notice how I didn't say NO to Rez because the DC version looks better and the PS2 version suffers from slowdown. Do remember not to judge a game based off of a remake or a port of the same game, it's kind of annoying since we've restated the rule a bunch of times already. >_>;
  4. I was honestly expecting OCR kids to play DotA with since when I play with my RL friends on GG there is no more challenge except for the rare occasion where we end up playing against a member of a pro team like the one time we played against Freezer from TeG. Anywho, what heroes do you end up playing? It'll be kind of hard to gauge if you're only a pubbie and don't really care for the team aspect of the game, but because I intend to go an compete, I think that gives me a different mindset on each character. I usually take a solo lane with my friends as PotM or Tinker, but I'm never opposed to dual lane when I'm Mercurial. Now this may come as a shock to the pubbies, but a triple lane when I'm Lina or Lesh is just amazing. If you've never seen/heard of it, I validate it with this: First Blood in a mere 10 seconds after creeps converge.
  5. OHKO = One Hit Knock Out edit: jacked on that one in a much more clever way...and twice no less Also, the Moltres reference was to SSBM and the talk about Groudon was purely from a size-ratio to game mechanic standpoint. I had no intention of bringing in whatever knowledge is needed about the pokemon itself.
  6. Honestly, that's all Groudon really needs, just to stand there. I doubt it'd be like Moltres which is a OHKO, but his size definitely is going to have the developers remove any attack they were thinking of.
  7. Yes, I have played the game. I've only played with friends and we play Burnout for the crashing, hehe.
  8. I checked around and saw that the old DotA thread was long gone. So does anyone play? I bunch of my friends and I started this past year and we're at the point where we want to start joining leagues and getting into competitive play. For those that don't know, DotA is a WCIII mod that is actually part of the CAL lineup. We don't use Bnet for a multitude of reasons and have turned to GG Client. So yea, if anyone wants to test their mettle, I go by the name antigrav and am usually hosting games in the European rooms. When my IRL friends are around we play in the high level rooms, but otherwise just the ones that look full.
  9. Burnout Revenge: NO If crash mode isn't as fun, I have no reason to play a Burnout game. I'm sure it makes a good racer in itself, but I've never given it that chance because I've never owned it. Beatmania: YES Is it possible for you to just have me down as a positive for each Bemani game? Speaking of which, if it hasn't been done yet, I'm nominating ITG 1&2. For those not in the know, these are the two games made from the makers of Stepmania where they went all out with the DDR system. Having at most 4 arrows to hit/hold simultaneously instead of the old 2. Capcom Classics Collection 2: YES A fine compilation. Has a couple old games in there you don't want to play, but makes up for it tenfold with the awesome games that are in there. Castlevania Potrait of Ruin: YES This game maintained that same Castlevania feel while giving a fresh take on the series. Having two characters really made the game feel like anyone who favored a particular style of play could enjoy it. The main game was a load of fun and especially Sisters mode. There's good replay to be had here and the multiplayer wasn't bad if not too easy for a skilled slayer.
  10. I was actually just about to comment on Fox's look. I like, it actually. Can't say I like it more than his SSBM look, but I do like it. Also, about that update. I don't remember Mario's third jump to reach that far...unless they're just visually tricking me and/or lieing.
  11. I've read it forces you to spend time on it because you can't save at any point except the town. This excites and worries me. I mean, just imagine spending so much time going down the levels of the dungeon only to die and get screwed either by Game Over or by spending way too much en (I think that's the currency.) reviving your chars.
  12. That seriously is amazing. I hate games where they don't tell you any of the prereqs before you start pumping points into skills.
  13. Etrian Odyssey: How do you know the skill trees? I'm assuming the standard you go online to check them out, but are they presented in game? That would be incredible if you could know all the skills and prereqs ahead of time. Phoenix Wright: That fifth chapter was a lot of fun, but unfortunately I don't think the sequel was up to par with the series although it added more puzzles to solve so when you were investigating it wasn't -as- boring. Though in retrospect, those mini-puzzles made the actual trials easier because it allowed you to look at the evidence objectively before the trial forced you to.
  14. It's really hit or miss with finding stepcharts online. Some are just incredibly good feeling while others are just unsyncronized pieces of crap that should have been worked on for at least twice the time.
  15. I really want to get Etrian Odyssey. Old school hardcore dungeon crawling for the win! How is the class system though? I mean, in terms of the balance and not having two of them available to you from the get-go. Also, a little off-topic, but I've only recently realized the gems that Atlus is bringing state-side.
  16. Groudon is pretty big, huh? Anyway, all this talk about items and levels and music doesn't really interest me. I hate how they're just buying time with them. All I really are about it getting a solid character list to see who did and did not stay and to see if they are expanding further than the characters they have already revealed. Also, I want to know what version of each character is being used. I'm sure this is a shared feeling of the community...but I just wanted to type.
  17. I tried out Big Bang Beat when a webcomic I read mentioned it. I was so surprised on how good it looks. I was very pleased. (Of course, not to mention the gameplay was pretty tight too.)
  18. You would be surprised. They're done pretty consistently. Any song is really up for grabs if you want to go and make a stepfile. I've been out of the PC DDR loop for a while now, so I can't exactly back what I'm saying, but I'm pretty sure I'm right.
  19. I'm not flaming him for disliking I game I enjoyed. I was pointing out that the logic he was using to explain himself was not appropriate for this thread. His continued explanation, however, was sufficient. Halo 2: YES Solid FPS for the Xbox360 and quite seriously one of the reasons for it's wide success. This in mind, it's not meant to be played alone. Ever. So if you have no friends and/or Live, you should not own this game. Jump Superstars: NO It's an amazing game, but it's meant for a very specific group of people: Fans of Shonen Jump. Okami: YES Amazing visuals with a great sense of style. Beatmania: YES Surprised?
  20. If we're talking about a series, I own DDR 1st-5th mix then Max, Max2, Extreme, Extreme2, Supernova, Konamix, and finally Disney Mix. So that makes 12 DDR games. I've also owned every version of Mario Party at some point in time save for the Wii version, but that probably won't be too far behind knowing how much my brothers will want it. Copies of the same game? I usually try to be careful about that unless I want the extra content...so none really stand out to me right now.
