  1. We're on a website that's dedicated to adults making big deals about video games and video game music from their childhood. It really shouldn't be a shock to you that cartoons would follow suit, especially in light of how many 80s cartoons have been getting the Hollywood treatment (and thoroughly butchered in the process in some cases). And if you're going to puke, do it quietly and in the designated barf bags that can be found at the entrance and exit of each thread.
  2. One doesn't need to be a fan of the show to see how fubar this rendition of it is.
  3. Around since 1977, and basically considered the "Polish Black Sabbath," Mech did the ending song for the game Painkiller. There's definitely an Ozzy resemblance in their sound and singing. I just wish I could understand their lyrics.
  4. I can't be the only one here who's heard this melody. At one point, I thought this might be from an Electric Light Orchestra song, or maybe even something disco-ish, but I don't know. But I can't help but think it was either actual violins, or a synth that was violin-like, used in the song.
  5. Yes, I'm back again. So far, I'm batting 500 with this kind of thing over the last year. The first hunt was successful ("Jessica" by the Allman Brothers as Rexy said), and the second fell flat (no matches anywhere). I'm hoping to get bumped up to a .666 average with this one. So yeah, here's my third one. It's been in my head for a few days, and it is incredibly familiar... so much so that I'm certain I should know it well. So, here's a link to the music file... https://www.dropbox.com/s/g3s9mr4j2n1xb5i/unknown_song_3.mp3?dl=0 I'm 99% certain it's not a game tune, and that it's a published and well known song that features this little melody in it. A part of me wants to link it to a piece of some rockish song, where the melody is used before a verse or something, but I'm not sure. Either way, it's driving me nuts. I've tried Midomi (it can record the music playing from my DAW, which I didn't know) and Musipedia, but they came up empty (Musipedia had lots classical matches, but none of them seemed right). Can anyone identify this bit of music? Pweeeeeaaaaase?
  6. Sing sing. Chernabogue got a little frisky with Catie, and ol' Andrew Cuomo doesn't like it when guys get touchy with his niece.
  7. I'm pretty sure it was the Stage 1 theme from Ghouls 'N Ghosts. I wanted to learn it on my little half-sized K-mart keyboard, and so already had to kind of remix it a little. There were others like the Stage 1 theme from Altered Beast and the ending song from Castlevania II: Simon's Quest that were done the same way around the same time, but I think it was the G'nG game that got me into it all first. Though, to be honest, it was after I heard "Into the Deep Blue Sky" (BGM 6) from Master Of Monsters that I really tried in earnest to make a piano-only remixed version of a more complicated tune.
  8. No need to apologize. Everyone knows that this movie's going to be so far from good, that it'll take the light from "good" a thousand years to reach it.
  9. This doesn't look like Jem, it looks more like a bad and generic Hallmark movie of the week. Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but I don't think I will be from what I saw.
  10. Civil War "Bay Of Pigs" Their "thing" is writing songs that deal with wars and such, with a lead singer who sounds like a 50/50 blend of Ronnie James Dio and Kevin DuBrow. Not the best stuff I've ever heard, but it's not bad either. And here's Powerwolf's latest, "Army Of The Night." Ignore the lyrics on the screen, as there are quite a few spots that are wrong. Better listen to it before it gets yanked... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeXGA-cr3dQ
  11. I can't speak for anyone else, but my track ended up being less of a remix, and more of an original work. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was about 90% original, and had very little in it from the source track that would have helped anyone recognize it. Hell, I had a friend listen to it who's very familiar with the SNES game, and they couldn't tell it was supposed to be a remix of "The Submerged City." So, rather than starting completely over (which I hate doing) and tying the track up, I figured it was best that I step aside.
  12. Strapping Young Lad "AAA" from the album "City" (It's not Heavy Metal, it's Devy Metal) Powerwolf "Cardinal Sin" from the album "Preachers Of The Night" (Power Metal) Orden Ogan "F.E.V.E.R." from the album "Ravenhead" (Power Metal)
  13. I see that I have a new PM waiting for me from 2002. ...
  14. I know I sent a new WIP a few days ago, but fresh WIPs were just sent.
  15. Two year old- "Fuckle you, Daddy!" **giggles** Father- "Aaaawwwww, my baby's first swear word... and her first grounding." Mother- "Save it for when she's older. She doesn't know any better right now, but we can keep a tally on how many days she'll be grounded right after her 12 birthday." Father- "Good idea." **hears daughter saying "fuckle" repeatedly to the cat** "Though at this rate, she'll be grounded 'till she's 29."
  16. FUCK YEAH TO THAT IDEA! **gets to work**
  17. Ha ha! Thanks timaeus222 :)

  18. I wonder if there'll be a mass exodus over anything lost, or the changes. Let's watch!
  19. I don't own a DS of any kind, so...
  20. Dug this up from a somewhat similar thread that was made a while back... For me, one of the standout soundtracks back in the day was the one for Master of Monsters. While I'm sure some would still call it "background music" for various reasons, virtually the entire soundtrack has an orchestrated structure to it that makes it feel like more than some catchy diddy done to keep the game from being quiet. Whether it's the haunting and solemn " ," the opening march of " " that was getting you ready for battle, or the sinister and impending ," the whole soundtrack felt like something made more for cinematic punctuation, rather than to be hummed as you played. All of the songs also run the gamut of moods, from upbeat and almost playful, to sad, to dark and brooding, to inspiring.Hayato Matsuo did one hell of a job with his debut soundtrack.
  21. It'll be released on 4-20-2016, and every ticket comes with a free blunt to help get everyone into the show's proper state of mind.
  22. She returns from the great frozen tundra of the north!

It's been a good number of years, Aurora. It's great to see you're still around. How've things been for you, and how went the studies that kept you snow bound for a while?

As for me, I'm doing alright. Had some ups and downs, but life likes to do that to us all, doesn't it? I'm still working on the occasional remix, doing illustrative/graphic design work, trying to get a trio of novels done (very far in #2 now), 'Twas is still a thing (did #13 last year), and I'm still tinkering with sprite work. I've got a DeviantArt account now, since I got tired of my freebie site hosts going belly up on me. It doesn't have everything, but I've gotten a fair bit uploaded...

So yeah, that a quickish summary of it all on my end. Hope to hear back from you, especially since I was just wondering a week or so ago what you were doing these days. Hope everything's going your way :)

  23. Heh, I remember you. It has been a long while , hasn't it?

I'm still here outside of the 'Twas stuff and An OverClocked Christmas albums, I just don't post as much as I once did. Still come by at some point each day, though, seeing if anything of interest is going on.

What about you? How've you been since the last time you were visiting and posting regularly (which seems like a decade ago )?

  24. It's obviously Ivan's call, but it seems to me that it's still a port since it didn't originate on the PS1. And thus, ineligible.
