  1. I'm thinking some people here should definitely upgrade. Why are there so many people with FL4... Wait, no, nevermind. DUH
  2. Use Logic? Not sure why it's doing what it's doing. Are you using FL6? It's changed a lot so it's new in a lot of areas. Maybe it's a bug? Also, there are timestretch options in the sampler window... doublecheck those, would you? p.s. ESQ-1 reprazent WHUT
  3. It depends! Some people like them non-weighted, I guess it's better for fingerdrumming but I usually mouse-sequence the drums I dunno about you
  4. First songs I learned were FF6 songs... very easy to figure out by ear. Actually, wait, it was the DK Hammer song. LOL?
  5. http://www.parstimes.com/gallery/niyaz/ Won't let me direct link, but if you search that page, you will see the [excellent] tabla player, and how he has the mic set up. He does have two mics, but look at the placement of both of them, they're pretty much right next to each other. This guy goes totally nuts on the tablas by the way he was entertaining to watch.
  6. The first thing I do is ask questions to myself. For example, "Why are there no non-trance Vectorman remixes?" usually leads me to remix Vectorman in a non-trance style. I almost always remix something because I think or know it deserves recognition, hence why I have so many Deus Ex and Vectorman tunes, and a good amount of the stuff I had on VGMix was fresh material. A lot of it was from games most people knew about, but the actual song covered was something no one's done yet. As for the anime remixes... there's still SO MUCH GROUND to be covered! I gotta get busy Also, don't make me jinx my muse... if I talk about my actual physical composition process, I won't be able to make anything good for at least a month
  7. uhhh hey larry you suck clocks
  8. How about "$50 and all I got was a fucking Super Shotgun"
  9. I used to do the same thing with the Granulizer [i just remembered!]. But that was in like 2001/2002 so the application of said technique wasn't very good
  10. -FL Studio for 95% of everything. -Cool Edit [maybe I should upgrade?] for sample recording [e.g. capturing the audio from a .swf advertisement], which I do a lot, and final trimmings of my songs. -Modplug Tracker for chiptunes. -2nd hand Kawaii K11 for MIDI control So yeah, my setup is pretty minimal.

  12. Don't do that then D: I think it is a known bug with FL6. I can't recall ever needing to use that function so try not to do it yourself
  13. TO I mean one where I can extract stuff from the .WAD. Pretty much all I [feel I] need to do on my song right now is just get that Romero sample. Remember I asked you about that like a few months ago? Also, Leather Goddesses of Phobos
  14. Why is it so hard for me to find a Doom .WAD utility? Google gives less than stellar results, that combined with confusing websites makes a sad soc
  15. OCR00001_to_OCR00500 24 24 30,397 45,228.684 GiB 492.13 KB/sec OCR00501_to_OCR01000 22 21 23,682 46,486.682 GiB 239.84 KB/sec OCR01001_to_OCR01250 21 11 17,185 17,199.046 GiB 197.17 KB/sec I dunno, looks like the download speed would be fine to me. Are you behind a router?
  16. No, you can have portamento on polyphonic synths/samples, it just sounds funny
  17. Portamento? That does a bunch of pitch sliding though, but is that what you're thinking of?
  18. Well, shit, that looks like a FANTASTIC midi controller to me! Is it velocity sensitive?
  19. Your mom is velocity sensitive :3
  20. Wait a second. Hold on... Do you hear that? It's the sound of a compo beckoning >_> Set aside an hour sometime this week and we'll try to get CompoST 54 running
  21. Uematsu on keys? You'll need maybe like one or two octaves. Actually, if all you want to is record lines with your keyboard [like melody and basslines] 2-3 octave keyboards are fine, but if you want to do piano solos I would go for at the very least a velocity sensitive 63-key synth/controller and recommend the full 88 keys
  22. most software has dB meters in it, but any waveform editor will show you the FULL song [Audition, SoundForge, Goldwave, Audacity] and whether it goes above 0 dB or not, of course.
  23. USB cables can actually handle way more information than MIDI cables [uSB1.1 even], so yeah you're fine.
