  1. I'm really curious what Wario's and Peach's final smashes are. Guess we'll have to wait and find out.
  2. To be honest I thought it looked way way better than say, her face in Mario Sunshine, or one of the more recent sports games. I don't know why people are saying it looks so bad.
  3. Haha, for serious. He's the one I use the most. The one thing I'd support them changing is making the side-B just a little bit more powerful (but still hitting up). Also I was really hoping they'd add in Samurai Goroh as a character, but he just wound up as an assist trophy.
  4. Finally someone actually posts some DOWNLOADABLE music. Let's see, I'll third the Beck recommendation, particularly the more modern stuff - while a lot of them aren't extremely bassy, it's just great car music and music in general. For something bassy, let's see - try this. http://download.yousendit.com/F878314B4CD529B2 Unfortunately, this isn't really a song I'd listen to in the car - it just has nice bass. (A Far Cry by Yoko Kanno.)
  5. Freedom is about to- get The facts about the International Meteor Organization, (IMO) was held in China. k Way. partitioning problem, is the New York City Web site It's All About Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. James Coburn was an actor and a director of the Central_ Bank of The United States of America. He is the Father of the Bride dresses and Gowns for all Occasions.
  6. Just to sort of jump off this - if you want more of what Hunters had to offer, look at Call of Duty DS, which apparently has an identical control scheme but is far more complex and intricate. I'm hoping that for people that want more of what METROID has to offer, Prime 3 is going to satisfy. I just can't see how having multiple worlds and all that could really work easily though without making it pretty linear - part of what I really liked about the older games was the fact that at any time you could uncover an elevator that leads to a previously inaccessible area in another portion. Getting rid of that mechanic would make it seem like "levels" with "missions", turning it into far more of a shooter, no matter how much exploration is in the game. Yeah, I know I'm bitching too much. I'm still going to get it on launch day and play the hell out of it.
  7. What's the big deal with friday updates? You guys keep mentioning them. I don't seem to remember the updates on fridays as being any better than the usual ones...
  8. Playlist is not movies did it! Thanks Mono, now I'll get to listening to all that stuff I didn't even know I had.
  9. So my L-button on my DS phat just doesn't work at all anymore. I think somehow a grain of sand got stuck in the connection. Any recommendations? (Basically should I send it to Nintendo to get it repaired, and if so, how much does that cost - or do I have other options? I really don't want to get a new DS.) Also, just in case no one's mentioned it yet, Call of Duty DS looks AMAZING. It's even better news that the controls are more or less identical to Hunters, which I always thought people complained about too much - I thought the Hunters controls were very comfortable, smooth, and even efficient.
  10. Looks great! I love the style of this game. Good luck at leipzig.
  11. Ugggh, if you're right about this.... But yeah, what they should do with this is allow you to design some kind of an emblem and then stick it ONTO a character, a la F-Zero GX or Mario Kart DS. Personalize it a bit. Maybe. That would still be "meh", just not so much as this. Now, if you could just draw freely and then post THAT online, things would be a bit more interesting. But they'd never do it.
  12. Imagery: Oh right, I get it now. Anyway, just a couple thoughts... Am I the only one who's going to really miss that style of music that was in the first two primes (stuff like the Chozo Ruins theme, etc)? They said on IGN that Prime 3 is going to have more like a sci-fi action film score, and we've definitely heard by this point that they're right. Personally, the music in the first Prime especially was really important to me, so I hope they still have a bit of that flair. Which leads me to something else entirely - I'm starting to get just a bit nervous that they're really going to screw this up. It might be fun as a shooter but if it doesn't have that feel of exploration that Prime and Prime 2 had, along with the whole "solve puzzles to find new items that let you open all that stuff you saw earlier" mechanic, I'll be sorely disappointed. More to the point, I really just hope they're not trying to turn Prime 3 into a Halo clone/competitor. I wasn't worried at all about this until I started seeing those new preview videos, which seem to be portraying it as this badass run and gun FPS with a cool plot. I was happy to see that spider ball footage, which indicates there still might be some puzzle-solving to be had after all. I'm not entirely sure what to make of this quote from IGN: Annoying that they just don't say one way or the other. Anyone else thinking about all this stuff?
  13. But what I don't get is that in that part of the video it said something like "blueprint for future aurora" or something to that effect. If all the Prime games FOLLOW the first Metroid, how could the Mother Brain not be built yet? Also, I think I'm going to stop looking at the preview vids in the channel. I don't want anything spoiled for me.
  14. Hahaha, wow. I wonder if it's possible to play all 6 NES megamen at once.
  15. Just keep that gc controller handy for some of the n64 games - in some cases it's a much better fit than the CC. But seriously, how hard is it to detect when there's a GC controller and just remap the buttons to make it PLAYABLE? When I have to jump with my thumb and run with my index finger in DKC2, there's something seriously wrong. I'll fall into the trap and get the CC too, just so I can play my damn games. Also, I'm not really waiting with bated breath for these Prime 3 vids - we've probably seen the footage already on IGN anyway. Just check later tonight. Got a question - does the CC have a wire to connect to the Wii or is it wireless? I sit far enough back from my TV that a wired controller might not be an option.
  16. Well this is a surprise! Good, I like surprises. But seriously, why don't they just call him "Ash"? Would make a lot more sense. Anyway, this is going to be a lot of fun to play as. I guess if you keep one pokemon out too long it will get weary and slow down or something. Maybe you can't attack after awhile, so it forces you to switch. Anyway, awesome. I hope we get more unconventional characters like this.
  17. Well since it was tool-assisted, he just advanced frame by frame with perfect control.
  18. Check here: http://tasvideos.org/Movies-RatingY-Rec.html That's a list of what they consider their best tool-assisted speedruns on the site. Also, check out speeddemosarchive.com for normal, non-tool-assisted speedruns, which in some cases are nearly as good (watch the 1hr 4min metroid prime run).
  19. Ho man, that's great. I love this kind of speedrun. Next I'm going to watch the 120 star run. I still say one of the most enjoyable runs I've seen was Metroid Prime in 1hr 4min, and that wasn't even a TAS.
  20. I can't play Prime or Prime 2 without going as fast as I possibly can (I've gotten it down to almost 6 and 8 hours respectively with no sequence breaking). Sometimes I even reset if I take too long to do something. I'm not sure why, as the first time I played both I really took my time and scanned and made sure to look at and appreciate everything. Of course I won't rush Prime 3 my first time, but I wonder how fast it will be possible to beat once I know the game really well, especially compared to the first two.
  21. I've used a handy little program called QTFairUse to deal with this problem. Strips the DRM and converts your M4P files into whatever format. I'm not sure how many conversion formats it supports, but I chose MP3 and had no issues. Obviously this is much easier than re-recording all your files.
  22. Aren't you just faster and more powerful in hyper mode? Haha, if they did implement it somehow, MP3 would make for some interesting speedruns...
  23. You know, Metroid Prime was a great game, and it was probably one of my favorite games of all time. But Prime 2 was also a great game, and I think it was WAY underrated. A lot of people talk about how bad it was compared to the first one and while it wasn't AS good, I don't see how you couldn't even have the patience to finish it. Anyway, just as a random aside, the VC is reminding me how hard Link to the Past was for me to beat as a kid and how much harder it is compared to the modern games...
  24. That didn't do it, but video kind is not movie removed all of them. Unfortunately it also removed all tracks from the list as well, which I didn't want. When the rule is enabled there's nothing left in the list, possibly because it's looking for JUST videos that aren't movies - and I don't have any of those. So I'm still out of luck with this.
  25. Regarding the new channel: My brother and I simultaneously slapped our hands to our faces as the narrator lady said "and the worst part is...she LIKES it." Urrrgggh. Still, I like the channel, and it's a cool idea. But why don't they just implement a fully-featured Video Channel and release demo vids of all games, including virtual console? It couldn't hurt and it would really be pretty easy. Also, I second the cry of "super fuckin' metroid". Now all I need is Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, Goldeneye, and maybe DKC3 and I'm SET. (And yeah, I know we're not ever going to see goldeneye and CT is unlikely.)
