  1. Both the internet and game news sites have been around for a long time. Why hasn't NP started doing something like that already? Why not five years ago? Anyway, they also need to start including something in each magazine that can't be found online. Something physical - some freebie, maybe just a couple tracks of music from some released game, maybe game demo discs, maybe coupons, something, but they need to start and keep doing it.
  2. Bought a few favorite tracks via iTunes and am enjoying greatly. I particularly enjoy Mindbender, Warhead and Depth Charge. Thanks for your work. Hope you wind up making the cash back it took to manufacture the album.
  3. ANTECHAMBER RELEASE - JUNE 30TH ________ Hey OCR, yes, I'm still alive, and yes, I'm still working on it! Some of you don't have any idea what I'm talking about, so here we go - I've been working on an album of original music for some time now, set to be 12 tracks and released sometime in mid-June. Now that we're all on the same page, I can tell you that I have 10 tracks of 12 finished, which means that this is going to be the final preview set I set loose (I might actually do a third one once the whole project is done but it would be released along with the album) but it should give you a much better impression of this album than the previous set I gave you guys. This set features, in order, all the currently finished tracks for the album. You'll understand that I don't want to just release them one by one and would rather have them out all at once - this is why I'm putting these previews together in the first place, so you know I'm still working on it. Anyway, I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! Download here: (RIGHT-CLICK, SAVE-AS) Tracks featured in this set (in order): Antechamber, Megalith, Spirit Walk, Superbox 3000, Aurora, Fulcrum, Lucid, Atlantis Groove, Stratosphere, Exeunt. Please, I'd love to hear what you guys think so far. I got some great comments last time, and they always mean a lot to me. Incidentally, as I mentioned last time, I've already finished album art, and I'll release it along with the album for those who want it. My website, antipodemusic.googlepages.com, is still open to visitors. I've been updating it pretty frequently with track descriptions and new info, so check it out if you get the chance. Thanks for listening! With any luck, I'll be back with more in June/July.
  4. Definitely add Metroid Prime 2, Super Mario Sunshine and Pikmin 2 to the Gamecube list. Also, I don't think anyone's mentioned Super Mario 64 yet, which should be a no-brainer (I noticed it wasn't on Coop's list for some reason).
  5. I actually liked XIII, horribly voiced though it was. It's worth a play. I'm only mentioning it because about everything else I'd recommend has been said already. Also, I'd add Metroid Prime Hunters for DS. Fun online play even though everyone is better than you. Also Tron 2.0 for PC was severely underrated. Other than shooters, I'll nominate Zelda: Twilight Princess (for either system) because I don't think it's been mentioned yet. Oh. REZ. Play Rez for PS2 or Dreamcast at all costs.
  6. Hey, it's great you're putting out quality stuff. Depth Charge and Warhead sound pretty amazing. I bought your first two, and I'll consider this once I get some cash. Good work, sir Zircon.
  7. Hey, I gave your song a listen. I like all the swells in the orchestra - really helps it out quite a bit. Anyway, you have a lot of nice ideas here. Not really much to say, except that I wish there were more, particularly because I like the direction you're going in right at the end.
  8. Hey, if this is your first classical composition, I've got to say you've done a pretty nice job. If you got just a few nicer samples and (more importantly) applied some good reverb in there, this would actually sound really nice, I think. Definitely sounds a bit "dry" without reverb, though. I actually really like your melodies and harmonies with different instruments. I can tell you put a lot of thought into it. My favorite section is the first whole part through about 2:00. Nice job, and good luck with the others.
  9. Hey, this is kind of cool. I like your abrupt stops and transitions. The 6/8 jump helps move it along nicely. I always love non-conventional stuff, so that kind of thing always grabs my attention. I'd like to hear this fleshed out into a whole song, actually, maybe just with a tad less compression. Good work! Fun stuff.
  10. Well that's a good thing for it to remind you of! Anyway, I've given it a listen. I actually like where you're going with this. My one major complaint is probably just that piano melody you have - something about the way you have it sequenced makes it go off-key from the background every so often. Not a big deal. But seriously, I could totally hear this playing in a factory in a game. Cool stuff. You ought to try a few more of these "scenario" kind of songs.
  11. Ok, I've given it a listen. I think you have a cool sort of mood here, but it just drifts around, offbeat. I think if you "locked" the notes into more of a rhythm it could help it out quite a bit - the way it is it just sort of sounds hesitant and disjointed. I like that you, albeit briefly, changing up the bass at around 1:08. Maybe you could consider a couple things: - Add some kind of an intro - Develop or at least expand upon your ideas earlier than you are. Move it along. - Maybe remove that 10 second silence you have. - Honestly, a couple better samples for your chorus, vibes and bass couldn't hurt. Nice panning effects with the bass, but try to keep the volume level for it consistent - it keeps fading out. If you just keep it a level volume the whole time, you'll be able to hear it a lot better. See what happens with drums, but it might not work with something like this. Keep on working on it!
  12. This is amazing work. I think it's far better than Everlast was. This is classy, polished, and badass. Thanks for sharing it with us.
  13. Spoiler Plus, you guys all seem to have forgotten about the fact that Dr. Connors still has that sample left alive.
  14. Agreed 100%. That's actually a pretty good idea for how they could have fixed that scene. I thought the same thing - my friend and I just looked at each other and rolled our eyes at the obvious copout. And our theater laughed at that line too - and even more when he said "I loved Harry even more!" Huh, that's funny, so did I. I found myself recognizing it whenever it came up and even remembering it later on.
  15. You might like it - it's got a lot of good action and it DOES have a lot of nice sequences with Harry and Peter. I just didn't really like it as a movie.
  16. Oh yeah, hahah, I forgot to mention that that whole scene was pretty amazing.
  17. Wow, I thought the movie was actually really bad...I dunno. I saw the midnight showing. I thought Venom was handled extremely poorly which really disappointed me, and everything (excluding all the awesome action sequences and fight scenes) had this awful tacky feel to it (I think it was mostly the writing. I'm not sure exactly what else it could have been). Seriously, in between all the fights the audience was either groaning or laughing at it.. when the credits started rolling there was just this kind of rolling downcast sigh through the whole audience. The redeeming value of the movie is that Sandman was pretty amazing, particularly the scene where he's getting up for the first time and the scenes where Spiderman is first fighting him. I think, even though Venom is probably my favorite Spiderman villain, that to fix the movie they should have totally scrapped him and the whole blacksuit subplot (which somehow seemed to only be like the last 40 minutes of the film - wasn't it advertised as the main plot point?) and instead just focused on and actually expanded on Osborne/Sandman/Spiderman. I would have probably rated it quite a bit higher if they had done that. You either make Venom a buff, growling badass, or you don't have him at all. I don't want to see Topher Grace's head sticking out and making some little snappy remark before turning back into Venom again. I think the real root of the problem for me of this movie is just that there's about 4 individual plotlines relating to each villain, each one insufficient for its own film, barely held together with a wire-thin structure. I know some people liked it and it will earn a ton of money, but it wasn't what I was looking for, and I don't believe it held a candle to the first two films.
  18. I like all these new ones. Freshens things up a bit. Oddly enough though it doesn't seem like nearly the amount of new ones I was expecting, what with all those posts in the avatar thread.
  19. I'm goin' for sure. It will be interesting to see how they manage to cram a story in around three major villain subplots. Incidentally I love your sig, Noodle.
  20. Ladiiiiiieees and gentlemeennnnn! The oooooooze is BACK!! I've been waiting a very long time to use my Ivan Ooze avatar.
  21. Hahaha, 18 months... no way they're ditching the ps3 that soon.
  22. AT LAST Ivan Ooze has infected OCR. Bwahahahaha...
  23. So in other words you're implying that it was nothing out of the ordinary? Because, I mean, come on...
  24. The article (from Apr. 27) says that "though he will be resigning, he has a vision" of what the future Playstations could be. The title is misleading because it says he's "planning" them, when he's doing no such thing.
  25. I want Super Metroid, DKC2, and Mario RPG to show up on VC. Then I'll be a happy man. Anyway, I'm actually beginning to consider Charged. It looks pretty cool (particularly because of the online play) and I missed out on the GC version.
