  1. http://www.box.net/shared/iqpjk5c5fk So I adore Kamelot. My favourite band in the history of ever. The great thing about their songs is that they are just plain and simple GOOD SONGS. Taken out of a metal context, they work. So this is a start on a house mix of 'The Human Stain' from the Ghost Opera album. Such a gorgeous song, completely beautiful in it's bleak depiction of the tough times that humanity is facing at the moment, yet it retains an underlying sense of hope underneath all the darkness. EDIT: Shit, totally forgot to put the source in here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFP1hn2W2hU I can't sing like Roy Khan... nobody can. So instead of even attempting to emulate his vocal stylings, I've gone off on my own tangent. Melodically, it will be the same basic stuff that went on in the original, but I think my vocals are unique enough to make it not sound like a total carbon copy. This is the first WIP, so there;s way more yet to do. The lyrics I have in there so far are a mix of the first and second choruses... it's an intro chorus, and I think it works in relaying the initial motivations of Roy's fantastic lyrics. Lyrics so far: So it hurts to be alive my friend. In this silent tide we're driftwood passing by. Don't you wish you were unborn again. Just for a minute just for a minute more. I hope you guys enjoy this
  2. Dude, that track is brilliant. Some of the other tracks are a little hit-or-miss when it comes to production, but you've obviously got a lot of talent, so I can only see you getting better. But that Bob-omb Battlefield remix. Wow. Just wow. (actually, reminds me a LOT of housethegrate, which is just awesomeness) I demand you link me to an mp3 now. Youtube just doesn't cut it
  3. I bet! And no way, I'm super happy to have you onboard
  4. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That dude is my idol. His music makes me cry... I still tear up at the credits theme to Turrican 3... it's so, so pretty Nice work mate!!!
  5. SSX 3 is the greatest snowboarding game ever. It is so, so much fun. I could only imagine how that game, with a revamped trick system could play out. I don't think there's enough in this trailer to go all sad face on yet though... show me some gameplay dammit! BUT, knowing what the game companies are like these days, and in what ways they 'bring back' beloved franchises, I completely condone reserving judgment till we see more. A dark tone for SSX shouldn't work though... the others were almost impossibly happy and colourful. We'll see then.
  6. Next couple of days you'll have a WIP I'm off work most of monday and tuesday, so I'll work on a WIP and link ya
  7. yes, yes, YES! The percussion now occupies more space, the extra layers you've added to that last half make all the difference! The additions enhance what the foundation of what was there, retaining that awesome sound, whilst at the same time, building on it. I adore this.
  8. I enjoyed. A lot. Turrican 3/Mega Turrican/Super Turrican are among my favourite OST's of all time. Wow, this is awesome. It starts off pretty low key and dark, then it goes all Tubular Bells, and THEN the Marty O'Donnell mixed with 80's synths and lush electronic beats comes in. Fantastic stuff. The vocals are very well done... I've not heard such a unique spin on what I'm assuming is Vocaloid before. Slick stuff man. The only criticism I can really notice is that one the beat kicks in, it sounds great, but I dunno, the overall sound could be a little fatter. When the strings are in there, this is a total non-issue. But when they're pared back, it loses a little presence. I can hear maybe some filtered pads with a small helping of Bitcrushing going on... However, I am truly nit-picking, because you've retained that total Turrican sound whilst at once making it sound unique, modern and fresh. Everything is crisp, clear and well defined, and apart from MAYBE that one suggestion (and the fact that it's over way too quickly), this totally rocks my world. The Turrican love is here, and it's aaaaallllll good. Love it
  9. So, WIP 2... http://www.box.net/shared/886eou8933 It's a bit longer... repeated the main hook again... mainly to work with some backing bells that are now present in the second run through. This segment will change too, I'm planning on adding more harmonies in there to stop it sounding like a repeat of whats gone before, so yeah, I have plans for that. Other than that, I've re-balanced everything, added some sub-synths, re eq'd a lot. STAY TUNED.
  10. And it will have NO problem getting through man. It's seriously brilliant
  11. Haha, thanks man! I'm going for a pretty authentic 80's sound, so I guess I'm on the right track! Yeah, this took me a couple of hours, so I plan on finishing this pretty soon!
  12. So this is a remix from Anamanaguchi's brilliant soundtrack to the Scott Pilgrim Vs The World game. My take on it is called 'New World Moroder' Source is 'Rock Club' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2RuEBM7A1A) WIP 1: http://www.box.net/shared/s7b0j21pho WIP 2: http://www.box.net/shared/886eou8933 So, if you haven't yet guessed from the title of the track, this is a total ode to my biggest influences, New Order and Giorgio Moroder... with a bit of Human League in there too. I wanted to create a track that sounded like all those LP's I used to listen to when I was younger... records with awesome 12" extended mixes of classic 80's dance stuff. I want you to think you've just pulled out your favourite 45' to shake your groove thang to. It's pretty basic at the moment, but there's plenty of potential here I think for plenty of awesomeness. Enjoy guys... expect an update real soon!!!
  13. Nice. REAL nice. I'm a total whore for anything NiGHTS, and I just finished my tracks for Lucid Dreaming, so you have no idea how great the timing of this release really is. Totally, pardon the pun, chill (XD), and sexy as hell. 'Take the Snow Train' was always one of my favourite tracks from the OST, so yeah. This is incredibly relaxing, production is as clean as all get up, and it just happens to completely accomodate the state of mind I'm in right at this point in time. Great, great stuff man.
  14. Mine are DONE. WOOHOO! I'm very pleased with myself at the moment haha. Deadlines are awesome
  15. It's a little more than that. I don't see how any of it is much like Sonic Adventure 2 or Advance 2... it is close to that 25% of Sonic Unleashed that was decent, but theres a lot of great, new elements in there. In short, it's just a lot of fun. Some of the best audio/visuals on the Wii coupled with mostly great design. It's the biggest surprise of the year for me. I expected it to be completely dire, but no. It's not much to say it exceeded my expectations, because I didn't have any. For it to turn out as well as it did, wow. I'd even say it's one of my favourite of the year so far.
  16. I put my 2 cents in too. Some people, seriously...
  17. I actually really, really adore the first cover. Great work man, much appreciated
  18. Yeah, I can tell you the lyrics are most definitely not emo. Nice to see you can pigeonhole something so quickly, Mirby. Tsk tsk. Were the lyrics written with a specific emotion in mind? Yes. But 'Emo' they are not. Anyway, thanks for all the awesome comments guys. I'm really, really glad you all enjoy the song!
  19. Quoted for truth. I loved my PSP... the first 2-3 years, I built up a collection of about 20 games... which sadly is about how big the collection ever grew... there's just not enough on the platform that interests me... I play my Atari Lynx more than I play my PSP these days... Hopefully the PSP 2 will remedy this... I'm always excited when a new platform comes a knocking
  20. Mine doesn't... but mine is Aussie, so it's probably different...
  21. Sounds great. Nice and crisp and clean, great sound. However, it just feels like it's lacking a little. Some more variation in the percussive elements would really help in taking this to a whole other level. Some warmer background elements would help the verses, BT-ish kinda glitches and cuts perhaps throughout the track would help keep it interesting. Some filter sweeps in the synths would add a lot, as would perhaps some secondary bass arps and such. Don't get me wrong, what you have here sounds fantastic... it's just missing the personal touches, little things here and there that would stop it from sounding a too-straight forward trance mix. I'm really excited to hear more of this mix. Very, very promising EDIT: And for the record, this is one of my favourite songs. Period. Great choice of source
