  1. No no no... I didn't mean it was an attempt to best the track. I just meant that IMHO, he's created a better song Like you said, organically, and I just happen to like it better than Still Alive
  2. I think he DID out do 'Still Alive'. 'Want You Gone' is amazing. I absolutely adore it, and the lyrics are absolutely killer. The chorus hook... phwoar... I'm in love...
  3. Awesome. Awesome awesome. Love the style. But it needs way more of the source tune in there. I completely agree with DJMystix... the absolute best part of the source isn't even here. And I can totally hear this mix building up to that particular section; it would fit in PERFECTLY with this style. Perfectly. Keep working on this. Needs moar awezome-source
  4. I had this exact idea a few weeks ago!!! Sonic CD: East VS West. I'd be all over the east part
  5. I thought Sonic Colours was great. Awesome fun without the tacked-on BS as is norm. Can I just say, the old Sonic in the teaser looks frikken awesome. Sonic needs his black eyes back. They're uber-adorable.
  6. this is your first remix? Wow... if only my first attempt sounded like this! Agree with what has been said about the delays. I really like the samples, but having them so exposed is probably not the best thing. I can imagine some strings in there... soft to start with... maybe introduce some pads toward the end to build up to a crescendo. That gradual build will basically tell the listener straight off the bat all they need to know about the mix, if you catch my drift. The rain effects could be effective, but are introduced way too late in the piece to really add anything. But yeah, I'm definitely digging this. I love the source track dearly, and it's nice to see you doing the source justice. Keep up the good work!
  7. Saw that this was up in a thread at HardcoreGaming101. Downloading as we speak. I am a huge fan of V4... this is gonna be awesome :D
  8. I remember this from the WIP forums, and I'm so, so, SO glad this is finally up. I adore the Halo soundtracks. Out of all the generic, cinematic orchestral music that seems to be all to common place in games today, the scores for the Halo series have always stood out for me. It's always been memorable, apt and so completely head and shoulders above the rest of the pack, so I'm really surprised that the games don't get more coverage here. But what a way to bring Halo back. I've loved this track for a long time, right from the very first WIP. 'Never Forget' is one of the most intensely emotional pieces ever written for a game score, and the use of it in this mix is divine. I love the slow and deliberate pace of this mix. It's very measured and well thought out, and I totally agree with Mr Lloyd's remark about the lack of bombast; it's refreshing to see the restraint in tackling these sources; it could have very easily been 'balls to the wall' by the end of the mix, but in this case, the more reserved approach really pays off and goes a long toward making this mix utterly unique and totally unforgettable. Outstanding. Kudos to you, my friend
  9. I totally would... except I don't think it would get through... it's YEARS old :D I might do a revamp of it one day... I've got a few remixes I want to re-do :D

  10. I am really starting to lean toward the Caanoo. I'd really want analog control for MAME (Space Harrier, OutRun etc...) and the like. Still. You're completely right... it wouldn't have been too hard to include both a stick AND a d-pad... especially since the machine is basically for emulators...
  11. I can totally see the Crazy Bus Theme (?) in an Akira Yamaoka-Silent Hill kinda track. Totally.
  12. Thanks for the info! As far as I can tell, the WIZ is more heavily supported. HOWEVER. Using GINGE, the Caanoo can use software and emulators etc that were programmed for the WIZ. Hmmmmm...
  13. I'm really wanting to get a GPx2 machine. I'm torn, however. The Wiz is $50USD cheaper than the Caanoo, is smaller, and has a D-pad. However, I really dislike the button placement. It looks like a d-pad, and doesn't look very comfortable to use. Also, it only has 64MB of RAM. http://www.thinkgeek.com/electronics/retro-gaming/bfc7/ The Wiz's follow up, the Caanoo, has an analog stick, proper face buttons, double the RAM, and a larger screen. However, it's larger, it has no d-pad, and the screen doesn't seem to look as nice as the one on the WIZ (from what I can gather). It's also dearer. http://www.thinkgeek.com/electronics/retro-gaming/e5ef/ The price doesn't bother me, but the Wiz seems to be way more popular online, so I'm stuck. I hate decisions. So I'm throwing it out to you guys. Anyone out there have one or both? Which should I plump for? And how is the analog stick on the Caanoo - is it irritating using it as a d-pad substitute? Again, I hate making decisions
  14. Brawl was awesome. Melee was great, and in my eyes, Brawl was the perfect evolution. I even, EVEN liked Subspace Emissary. Played it through to the end in one sitting. There's not many games I do that for, let alone finish these days, so Brawl must have done something very right. At least by me. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion though, I guess.
  15. I assume your talking about Deus Ex: Invisible War. In which case I'm disagreeing. I adored Invisible War. As much as I loved the original Deus Ex. Sure, it was different, but c'mon. The game was still awesome. And still pretty far ahead of most other FPS of the time. I've never, ever understood the IW hate.
  16. Just saw it. Wow. You guys weren't stuffing around when you said it was up there with the classics. I'll be picking it up when it's released.
  17. Yeah, all I've basically got left is mastering... my Cubase has carked it for some reason, so I need to reinstall it and do that... then boom... done EDIT. Also, I notice in your sig that you're not supporting/spectating VROOM !!!
  18. This is perhaps the most incredible thing I have ever read.
  19. So it really is on the level of Mermaid, Beast and Aladdin? I have to see it then. Those are the holy trinity of Disney movies as far as I'm concerned. I think only Snow White, Pinocchio and Sleeping Beauty are the other Disney films on the same keel. Maybe Alice in Wonderland. I love some me some Pixar, but the greatest tragedy of CG taking over the mainstream was the seeming death of the classic fairytale. But if Tangled is bringing it back, then that's a pretty amazing thing. Kinda reminds me of the death (pretty much) and resurrection of the 2D fighter. But seriously, I'm going to have to see Tangled now.
  20. This track needs more love. Mr Mystix, I still have your original version of Eternal Tears from all those years ago, hahaha! I adore this track, and I've told you that before. It's so awesome to see you up on OC ReMix dude... I couldn't be happier. Congrats on debut mix man, and awesome, awesome track... one of my favourites!!!
  21. haha, no worries man haha :D

  22. Right back at you man haha Actually, when I first read that comment, I actually lol'd. Y'know... like out loud and stuff
