  1. Quoted for fact. It's one of my absolute favourite games of all time. Sad news indeed.
  2. WIP: http://www.box.net/shared/azqqztg0510egzvd4zjs This mix aims to be a mash up of 2 tracks: Franks' Track from Street Racer on the Saturn/PSX: http://www.box.net/shared/smrketl34yg7i3rasgot & Level 2 from Bram Stokers' DRACULA on the Mega Drive/SNES: http://www.box.net/shared/f5k07bm243h1txrkz1il Think 50's horror movie meets Psytrance/Infected Mushroom + Space-Trancey stuff... and you'll be on the right track. Still very, very basic at the moment... HEAPS of shit to add... loads of synths, etc. Arrangement factor at the moment is fairly low, and I haven't done a lot of the 'mash up' work yet. The intro is also just kinda there, but yeah, WIP 1 Hope you guys enjoy this! I'm having a whole heap of fun doing this at the moment... so, so much fun
  3. Yep... I'm up for it too! Feel free to use whatever you like
  4. It's been manual tuned so that the Endless Mine reference could be thrown in there.
  5. Agreed. This is sexy as hell. I haven't been exposed to too much rap (a lot of OCR artists are turning me around to it though...), but DiGi does it for me ever SINGLE time. A complete natural. I'm looking forward to working with him in the future on some stuff. Great job DiGI and Tryezz... definitely one of my favourites:D
  6. I love this track so much. So, so much. So, so so so much. Gotta love José ... his stuff gets me everytime.
  7. Hells yeah!!! Any chance of me getting any sleep is gone...
  8. Still, I don't think it's ever felt out of place. Plus, City Escape... c'mon it's a classic
  9. Well, it's been with Sonic since pretty much the beginning. Sonic games have had vocals tracks since Sonic CD, so it's par for the course:D I'm loving that version of City Escape with the ode to Endless Mine. I absolutely love it.
  10. So, it's July the 5th I'm severely hoping this gets released before I go to work. I hate, HATE timezone differences. Make my brain hurt, they do. I'm so pumped
  11. Dude, this is gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. You have my go ahead for using 'For You', of course. But man, I'm loving this. A lot. A LOT a lot.
  12. Alan Wake. It's like Max Payne, but not. But yes. Eh, regardless, I've beaten the game twice now. All the haters gonna hate, but if you're after a cool story, killer atmosphere, some really solid mechanics, and great music, then yah, Alan Wake. (Also check out the 'Bright Falls' web series that acts as a prequel to the game. It's a little bit of a mind f**k till you actually get around to playing the game. Truly stunning.) The Mass Effect games are a must. Both of them. If you like arcade racers, I'd recommend Split/Second. A more unique, bombastic arcade racer you have never played. Tons of fun. Should be cheap now too. On PS3 also, but still, completely worth owning. Another addictive racer is Import Tuner Challenge. Completely generic in every single way... except for the gameplay. This IS a Tokyo Xtreme Racer game (strangely re-branded). As such the graphics are very, very average; the soundtrack ho-hum, and the car AI is horrendous. Except it's insanely addictive. It's a racing game, with fighting game sensibilities. You should be able to pick this up extremely cheap, and as such, definitely try it out. I pull the game out every 6 months or so and spend 2 days straight just playing the thing. Still to this day an utterly unique, one-off title on the 360. If you're gonna get into Halo, you may as well wait for Halo: Anniversary Edition (or just grab the original Halo) and start from the beginning. To not play through the games in order will be doing yourself a great disservice because, as others have mentioned, the storyline and fiction is rather strong, and a real driving force behind the campaigns. Since all the older Halo's are backward compatible, it would be worth tracking them down. Also, GTA4 has been mentioned, but personally I much prefer the Crackdown games over GTA4 (which is perhaps the blandest of bland games I've come across). Once you start after the Agility Orbs hidden all over the cities in Crackdown, it's all over. Perhaps one of the most addictive games I've ever played... and all because of those damned Agility Orbs... Hope this helps
  13. another? You mean, you've been buying them all? I stopped buying Sonic games after Sonic Adventure... till Sonic Colours came out. It may not have been a pure throwback to Sonic, but I'll confess, I enjoyed it a lot. Just played the demo for Generations, and I'm almost impressed. If this is as close to the old-type gameplay that Sonic Team can get, then I'm fine with that, because it feels pretty damned good. My biggest issues are the frame rate and the resolution. For all the gorgeousness of the art, it's hard to see a damn thing because it seems to be running at a lower clip than 30fps, which really, given what's on show, isn't right. Especially since it doesn't even look like it's running at 720p. I do realize that it's an early demo, but still. I'm all for Generations, because other than that, the demo shows a lot of promise. But if the frame rate issues aren't sorted out, I may have to plump for the PC version...
  14. WIP 2 with Main Vocals: http://www.box.net/shared/mdpulj55q6z1kssefqun So the main vocals are in. Not mixed in properly yet, but yeah they're there Still missing the backing vocals, harmonies and all the little vocal snippits I want in there though. Some of the vocal transitions may be little abrupt, and they need a little more de-essing, but that'll be fixed in time. These are now the final version of the lyrics: (and YES! I DID end up throwing a little 'we're no strangers to love' in there... LULZZZ) Turn around; I have never seen you before, but I'd like to get to know you some more. You're straight out of a fantasy. I can feel the heat between us. (You're the one that I need right now) Let me tell you something; Move a little bit closer and just rock with me, oh yeah. (You're the one that I see right now) This time I know it's for real. Together we can blow this night away. CHORUS: (x2) I've got my head in the clouds. I'm jumping around; You're love has got me tumbling upside down. Nobody can do the things that you do. I feel the change and it all comes back to you. VERSE TWO: Turn around; You know that we're no strangers to love. These nights with you are all I dream of. And when I think about it I die I fall for you a little more everytime. (Guilty of love in the first degree) Let me tell you something; There's nothing to it so just rock with me, oh yeah. (All I need is you here with me) This is where our story starts and ends Because it's happenin' all over again. CHORUS: (x2) I've got my head in the clouds. I'm jumping around; You're love has got me tumbling upside down. Nobody can do the things that you do. I feel the change and it all comes back to you. Lemme know what you think! :D
  15. Jeez thanks guys!!! This is the Brass soundfont... got it from Hammersound or whatever it is YAAARS ago. It's old, but brilliant for 80's stuff: http://www.box.net/shared/1rr988028xeo22rjg1f7 Oh, and these are the lyrics I've got so far... verse 2 is still subject to change. They're cheesy, and I've packed a fair few song titles from Stock Aiken Waterman songs into them as an ode hehe. I TOTALLY fit 'we're no strangers to love' in there too VERSE ONE: Turn around; I have never seen you before, but I'd like to get to know you some more. These nights together are all I dream of. And when I think about it I die I fall for you a little more everytime. (Guilty of love in the first degree) Let me show you something; There's nothing to it so just roll with me, oh yeah. (All I need is you here with me) This is where the story ends Because it's happenin' all over again. CHORUS: (x2) I've got my head in the clouds. I'm jumping around; You're love has got me tumbling upside down. Nobody can do the things that you do. I feel the change and it all comes back to you.
  16. So this is a total do-over of an old WIP of mine... an 80's disco cover of my favourite motif from Wave Race 64... the tunes that play when you come in first or second place. The need to revisit this WIP was strong, and inbetween other tracks I'm working on, this was a great pallet cleanser. It's a little repetitive at the moment, because the vocals aren't in yet, but yeah. Source tunes here (1st & 2nd tracks in video clip): My WIP V1: http://www.box.net/shared/xniksevmnxu9infqnuip My WIP V2 with vocals: http://www.box.net/shared/mdpulj55q6z1kssefqun As you'll be able to hear, I've elaborated a lot on the original source tunes, each of which is 30-odd seconds long. Still sounds a little new, so forgive some of the balancing issues, missing elements and placeholder samples. This will have vocals, I will record them when I have a bit of time to myself. The WIP itself is a complete re-master of my original remix, and sounds about a billion times better than the old track haha The name of the track is 'It All Comes Back To You', which is what the original WIP was called... a title that will make sense once the lyrics are in there. Expect a lot more soon! Oh, and it's totally got a Rick Astley vibe... just sayin'.
  17. This year was a disappointment for me. After the last 3 years of total brilliance, this year was way down on the AkumajoBelmont-Scale-Of-Awesome. It was good to see Azerbaijan win, as you said... they deserve it after all these years. And yes, 2009 was an AMAZING year for Eurovision. So many fantastic songs... particular favourites are Sweden's 'La Voix', 'Norway's 'Fairytale', Bulgaria's 'Illusion' (which was BAD live, but the recorded track is brilliant), Finland's 'Lose Control', Iceland's 'Is it true?', Greece's brilliant Sakis Rouvas classic 'This is the Night', Slovenia's 'Love Symphony', Croatia's 'Lijepa Tena' ... I could go on forever. Really, I could.
  18. Utterly gorgeous. Sounds fantastic... and I have nothing critical to say whatsoever. Downloaded. Total keeper
  19. No no no... I didn't mean it was an attempt to best the track. I just meant that IMHO, he's created a better song Like you said, organically, and I just happen to like it better than Still Alive
