  1. A synthwave rendition of Hurry! by Nobuo Uematsu, featured in the game Final Fantasy VII. This is my remix. This is the original song for reference. My arrangement is done on synthesizer. I kept the same BPM to give the same overall timing but manipulated the beat into an electronic/synthwave style. I also introduced many new instruments, micro-rhythms, and timbres.
  2. Ready to have your face melted into oblivion via sonic decimation? The type of sounds you will hear are in the vein of the TB-303 and the Access Virus. Here is WIP 3 of Acidity! It's an acid synth fest with additional distorted synths.
  3. Hello all! Here is a heavy electronica track! It's certainly got a dark and heroic vibe!
  4. Hello again guys. I have just about finished this new melodic dance track. I think I have a banger!
  5. Here is a track I made just as a test. But we all know that a lot of emotions that we vent are from recent contemplation, anxiety, etcetera. I have been thinking a lot about the ethics of human augmentation lately. If you like Metroid, Half-Life, Deus Ex, 80s music, etc then you will likely like this. What do you think so far?
  6. Right, so I've been working on this remix of Duster's theme, Mind of a Thief from Mother 3. Its still pretty early on in development, I guess, but I wanted to get some feedback on how the audio quality is. After listening to it so much myself, I need other people to let me know how it really sounds. I still need practice with adjusting EQ's appropriately and all that mastering stuff. And I wonder if some of the instruments (the bass and strings) sound too fake, since all of them are synthesized or sampled. Aside from that, any other guidance would be very much appreciated, particularly in regard humanization; the drums especially. The're supposed to sound a little chippy, but I'd like to know if other people think it works. Obviously, without live instruments, its harder to get things to sound natural and energetic. Anyway, the download link is here: http://tindeck.com/listen/diuok Thanks for your constructive criticism!
  7. Hey there, i've made a remix of the song "Reconstructing more Science" from the Portal 2 game and require some feedback. I've submitted the first version of the song but it did not make it to the judges panel. This actually is not a bad thing because i've got some very good feedback and worked a few days on the song to improve it. Here are some problems listed in the feedback email i worked on after getting feedback: Now i need to know if any of those problems still are present in the current version of the song or if anything else might be a problem. I thank everybody who is giving constructive feedback <3 _Edit: So i got a very good evaluation after i marked the post as "ready for review" and continued working on the song after i got the feedback. After almost two weeks i've finished working on version 7 and are ready for more feedback. New problems mentioned by Rozovian i am/was working on: -daWaschbaer First version of the song: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4qhWIS85-GwdkFkYm9jVGkxMHM Second version of the song: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4qhWIS85-GwMV9kT1F5QmxMc0k Third version of the song: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4qhWIS85-GwVGNSWk1wcTNKNlk Fourth version of the song: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4qhWIS85-GwZmJJZjhfMjJnZWc With version 4 i've tried to solve the overcompression problem. Fifth version of the song: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4qhWIS85-GwY1loeFhTbTNYc1U I've increased the volume by 3 dB. Fifth version of the song [short]: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4qhWIS85-GwSFFmdEV3VWNheDA I've shortened the song so the length fits the content. Sixth version of the song: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4qhWIS85-GwZWs1WUFwNXZjVFE (Made the reverb less intensive from 2:00 to 2:15 and lowered the volume of the piano from 2:56 to 3:28 (because i wanted the piano to be in the background in this part). Current version of the song that requires feedback (v7): https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4qhWIS85-GwNDV5UmJSOW1zOUk (Tried to fix the problems Rozovian mentioned like the mixing problem, the transitions and the drums. I've changed the piano and need feedback which piano is better. And yes, i was ending on the wrong note and i did not realise it until mentioned. I hope that there is not any overcompression anymore.) (When listening to the song keep in mind that it is meant to become more chaotic the longer you listen to it (especially at the end) Title of original song: Reconstructing More Science Link to original soundtrack: http://www.thinkwithportals.com/music.php (Reconstructing More Science found in Volume 2)
  8. Hello - I've recently re-watched Attack on Titan in preparation for the second season, whenever it's coming out, and I've been really wanting to take some of those elements used throughout the soundtrack and apply to my own works, since there's so much power there. I've also been thinking about applying it to a Remix, to get a better feel on writing music, to work on arranging, to work on production/mixing/mastering, and to simply get the creative juices flowing. Finally, I decided on taking the Undersea Palace and Lavos themes and create an Attack on Titan-inspired Remix https://soundcloud.com/user-913553678/attack-on-mammon-wip-chrono-trigger-undersea-palace-lavos Of course, it's in the WiP stage at the moment, and I'm having one major difficulty: the arrangement is just too conservative for me at the moment, and while I would have some more wiggle room in transitioning to the theme of Lavos, I haven't gotten there yet, and I believe I should expand on the Undersea Palace theme somehow, but I'm not quite sure how to approach it. If you have any thoughts in that regards, or anything else in general, please let me know. Thank you for listening! 9. Hey there! I need some advice. I'm working on an orchestral arrangement of Asgore's theme and the main theme from Undertale. It's pretty long, and I don't know if I should cut some of it or not. Any thoughts on length, instrumentation, etc? The only thing left I have to add is the ending.
  10. Hi everyone, this is the work in progress that I've been focusing on mainly for the past month or so. I've taken the palace theme from Zelda II (known more widely as the Hyrule Temple theme from Super Smash Bros Melee) and the Hyrule Castle theme from Link to the Past and created a heavy surf rock remix focusing mainly on the Zelda II palace theme. My biggest concern is the production of the recordings, such as whether I've EQed my instruments in a way that you can hear them all, whether one instrument's volume is too low, etc. Feedback on drums is welcome as well, as this is the first time that I have used a MIDI instrument (in this case, Sennheiser and NI's Drummic'A). Any feedback would be more than welcome. Thank you! Remix: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3oA-7V8SI0mVG1SbXo3Njk5LWM/view?usp=sharing Source materials: Feedback scale PRODUCTION [ ] Too loud [ ] Too quiet [ ] Low-quality samples [ ] Unrealistic sequencing (particularly acoustic instrumentation, e.g. notes use the same velocities, mechanical timing) [ ] Generic/cliche sound choices [ ] Drums have no energy [ ] Overcompressed (pumping/no dynamics) [ ] Mixing is muddy (e.g. too many sounds in bass, middle or treble) PERFORMANCE (live recorded audio/MIDI parts) [ ] Timing not tight enough [ ] Wrong notes, general sloppiness [ ] Poorly recorded [ ] Bad intonation WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THE TRACK [ ] Creative arrangement ideas [ ] Good production quality [ ] Good live performances [ ] Instrument choices [ ] Improvement from previous submission(s) [ ] Source tune choice(s) PERSONAL COMMENTS (positive feedback, specifics on checklist criticisms, any other thoughts) [write here]
  11. Hello! Today, I've got a definitely relevant and hip, new song for a hip, new game, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. I don't know what happened but I woke up and started humming the melody and sat down afterwards and hammered this out. Unfortunately, like other one-shots I do, I have no idea where I want this to go. The original song repeats the melody four times or something then fades out so that's kind of all I did. I'm unsure right now but I like this a lot! Original: My thing:
  12. http://tindeck.com/listen/jvcrn Even more Undertale! Is there anyway to lower the volume on all instruments at the same time in FL? It might be noticeable that the volume is going over the limiter by a lot during the loud parts.
  13. Just started a project that I have been thinking about for a while. This is not so much of a remix as it is a cover of the song, however, this has all been done by ear so far. I hope that you all think that it may be sounding alright, although I do need to figure out what to do about repeating the song/ the key change at the end. Not sure yet how to work that out. But nonetheless, here is the song: And here is the original music from the game for comparison:
  14. Hey guys!! So I made this flute + piano cover of Goodbye Geno from Super Mario RPG. It's finished, but I'm not completely satisfied with it yet, so I might make a remake of it. Fun fact, this is already the 3rd remake. I'm a bit worried that it might be too hard to detect the source, and there are a few wrong notes in the piano. The flute playing isn't flawless as well. But since I might remake it anyway I didn't want to bother with the minor details too much. A few things I'm not sure about is the recording quality, the source appearance, the length, the tempo swing, the abstractism. The cover is inspired by GENTLE LOVE, as they are totally awesome. Any feedback or opinions regarding the things I pointed out, some things I didn't point out and even things that were already quite okay anyway is greatly appreciated and will earn my eternal gratitude!! 15. Hello OCRemix world. It's been quite some time since my last mix. I found this half-finished Storm Owl remix buried among my other files, so I cleaned it up and figured I'd get some feedback. Really appreciate any thoughts you have! https://www.dropbox.com/s/mjzabxucqi91ppe/mrjoshuamclean_mmx4_stormowl.ogg?dl=0
  16. This is the theme from Mega Man 3, Wily 3 (&4) done with synths, loops and Celtic harp. First submission to OC, thanks for any input! Thanks! https://soundcloud.com/crystacular/wily-persons
  17. https://soundcloud.com/killing-pepsi/dk64-crystal-caves-liquid-dnb-track-wip-1 Original: This is a little chunk of a Chill liquid DnB remix of Crystal Caves from the game I can't believe still hasn't had a remix on OCR since I started visiting 10 years ago. I posted this to Soundcloud a little over a month ago now, and I've actually added about another minute of content to it since. But, I wanted to get this here now before I keep forgetting and I'll wait to update until the track is pretty much finished.
  18. Hey, This is my pianocover of Rainbow Road, from MarioKart 7. I'm pretty happy with it, but if there is any feedback, then I'd be happy with that as well. If not, then I'll change the post to Mod Review and then I'll try to get it submissioned. It's like 100% source, so that shouldn't be a problem, but if anyone has anything to say about the arranging, audio quality, performance and/or other stuff then it would be great to share it. https://soundcloud.com/jorik-bergman/route-de-art-en-ciel Source: Thanks!!
  19. Remix: https://soundcloud.com/killing-pepsi/delphino-plaza-remix-whip-1 Original: Any and all criticism welcome! Notes: -Around 53s in, will tweak bass sound (might remove altogether) ; it sounded empty in this section so I wanted something to very temporarily fill the hole - There is more coming at the end, a sort of outro vamp that isn't finished yet
