LuketheXjesse Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 He has always been badass, but... they ruined him in Sonic Heroes. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA What the fuck was that, Sega? Yeah I heard he was going to be in Sonic Heroes, but not in giant Metal Dinosaur form. Quote
FuriousFure Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 http://www.newgrounds.com/collection/supermariobrosz.html although, both mario and sonic have been partially redeemed by the animator, Alvin Earthworm. Check out the link for the most awesome action scenes done with sprites. Quote
JCvgluvr Posted February 27, 2009 Author Posted February 27, 2009 Oh man, that series is sweeter than chocolate covered sugar cubes. Episode 6 is especially amazing. Yet episode gets special mention for the best 8-bit fighting scene ever created. People who check that out ought to give this a view as well: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/342356 Not only does it have a contribution from the creator of Super Mario Bros Z., but it's just an enjoyable/thrilling flash in general. cobaltstarfire Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 He's pretty much the only guy that did a great sprite animation in that lot too. He's got a really good sense of rhythm. Also, holed cows a new episode finally came out! Quote
FR Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 How come no one has mentioned these yet? http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/427405 http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/436074 http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/441881 http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/452173 http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/484130 Quote
Toadofsky Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 You ought to see the real legend 3 on newgrounds.... Makes fun of Ocarina of Time, but in a good way. Quote
JCvgluvr Posted February 27, 2009 Author Posted February 27, 2009 Only the first 3 Sonic Shorts were lol worthy. The others only give the occasional chuckle. Quote
Elex Synn Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 How come no one has mentioned these yet?http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/427405 http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/436074 http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/441881 http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/452173 http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/484130 These were mentioned in another thread a while ago... It's where I first discovered the series. Quite entertaining. I love what this guy does with fight scenes. Quote
Nekofrog Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Well, IGN review is up. http://wii.ign.com/articles/958/958855p1.html 3.9 Probably one of the worst Sonic games since Sonic Adventure. Quote
LuketheXjesse Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 From the sound of the review, it's a giant Werehog game. With a sword. Quote
Murmeli Walan Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 http://wii.ign.com/articles/958/958855p1.html Oh well. Back to waiting for the next Sonic game to be announced. Maybe it'll be the series' return to form. EDIT: Oh, wait. The next announced Sonic game is "Mario & Sonic At The Winter Olympic Games". Never mind. Quote
cobaltstarfire Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Sonic is dead, they need to just take him out back and put him out of his misery. Or sell him to a game house that knows what the heck they're doing. Quote
Bleck Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 no way i dont believe it thats impossible I laughed so hard at this Quote
LuketheXjesse Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 sell him to a game house that knows what the heck they're doing. Everyone start naming good developers who could do this. I like Ubisoft personally. I could say Nintendo but that would be horrible irony Quote
The Coop Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Dimps, the good people behind the Advance games, and the apparently well received Rush. That team is far more in tune with what people are wanting than Sega is. Quote
FR Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Sega wouldn't sell off Sonic unless they were desperate for cash. Speaking of cash, Sega needing cash could explain why Sonic team pumps out these turds. Unsuspecting kids are lured into a trap that no kid can escape: The colorful Sonic cover! The end result, as we all know, is many :c Quote
XZero Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Sonic is dead ... and Sonic Team's eating his innards. Quote
cobaltstarfire Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 ... and Sonic Team's eating his innards. So that's where the best part went! Quote
JCvgluvr Posted March 5, 2009 Author Posted March 5, 2009 Don't tell me people are actually taking IGN's review scores seriously? I would hope we're all smarter than that! Quote
FR Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Why not take them seriously? You think the score can go even lower? Quote
