OCR TF2: New Server forthcoming - new server IPs and other stuff

Dunno, I've been playing TF2 on the OCR server with the Adidas vs. Nike skins for months now, and I don't have any issues. I also just tried out the Master Sword model (replaces the Scout's bat) and it works fine on the OCR server. :|

Last night was just...oh my.

We went through every class except Soldier. And lost. Every time.

At least we'll be prepared for the next free weekend!

This was a great night, spy rush FTW! The all engie low grav round was awesome too. I hope every night is going to be as fun as that now.

Also, we should have the current rotation listed in the topic post :razz:.

The thing about mach4 is it's too small for typical fully-loaded pubs. It's ideal for match play, where you're typically looking at between 5 and 9 players per team, usually 6 or 8.

It seems too many people don't like Steel or haven't downloaded it... we went from 20+ players on the stage before it (Dustbowl?) to 8 players on it, then back up to 20+ players on the stage after it (2Fort).

I don't know - I'm loving the design of steel, but we need more people for that map to be viable. Even 12 people wasn't enough IMO.

Should I change the rotation for tomorrow or no? Currently it is:

I think you should leave the custom maps in there a bit longer than a day so people can get a chance to get used to them. (Then again it's not like they're going anywhere, I guess they can get added back in later if popularity requires it.)

@ Bahamut: To answer your question...

I really REALLY started to hate Granary today after the first round, and I'm pretty sure most other people (or at least everyone on my team) felt similarly.

I'd love to see 2fort replaced with turbine.

Keep Steel. It was a ton of fun. Put back in Toy Fort. It's a blast too.

So...my ideal rotation would be something like this:

cp_well

pl_goldrush

tc_hydro

cp_dustbowl

cp_toy_fort_elite

cp_steel_b4

cp_dustbowl

ctf_turbine

Given, that's 3 custom maps...but eh. Do what you feel is right, in your heart.

Steel's not something you just pop your head in on and can effectively evaluate as a map. It's so big that it takes a long time to figure out strategies and techniques. I still don't think I've played it enough to know whether I like it or not. But I do want to try it again and see if I do better next time.

We also need more people to test it effectively.

However, our team nearly took point E once with two Scouts and a Soldier.

It seems odd having a point that can instantly end the match like that, but only reachable by a few classes (Scout, Soldier, Demoman).

Also, my opinion of Granary has gone way, way down as of late.

P.S. I happen to like 2Fort.

Granary and dustbowl can lick my sack. They are like the teamjungle of TF2. Id rather see more custom maps to stop the "beating of a dead horse" feeling of the maps that Ive played for a year now almost.
