I-n-j-i-n Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 So I just got through the first 5ive episodes of 07-Ghost. And I'm loving it. It has the animation style as Code Geass, with the feel of Trinity Blood. Anyone else see this one yet? I do. It has a great atmosphere, even if it feels a bit too shonen-ish. There's a LOT of training for the Bishop exam and all... Otherwise it's a pretty good watch. Though it's one of like 40 anime I'm following.. Quote
Native Jovian Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 It has the animation style as Code Geass, with the feel of Trinity Blood. I think this is the worst compliment I've ever heard in reference to an anime. Quote
duskvstweak Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 I just watched Outlaw Star and Samurai Champloo this summer. I liked them both (Champloo preferred). Right now, I'm watching Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood on Hulu and I'm loving it. Quote
Kinslayer Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Anime still sucks.Unless it was Speed Grapher. :tomatoface:Take that Brushfire... Blue Gender freaked me out more about the humanity of it, and the main character...and the truth about the sleepers...I didn't like Blue Gender after the Blood changed from red to purple Quote
Brushfire Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 I really wish anime had some sorta Quality Control to prevent terrible pans of a single loop of animation. The reason I bring this up, is because I was rewatching Air Gear, and it's animation is horrid. I rember it being decent back in the day. But now, it is garbage. Like most anime. Quote
Kinslayer Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Oh Brushfire!!! Anyway, Anime doesn't need quality control, you just have to get used to the idea that it is alot simpler than Western Style animation, and yet more complex at the same time, anime uses roughly 1/3 of the frames used in a Western animation, and yet can do so much more...Anime just acts more realistic, most cartoons are out there, strange, crazy, meant to be diverse, most animes act as though they were filmed...kinda like a movie or TV show...and there are some great animation styles in anime, you just haven't found one that you like, or you let your creative side die...besides, anime characters are fun to imitate...I'd like to get angry someday and have my head take up an entire frame... TheSnowStorm Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Gotta question: Why is that oh-so-popular song "God Knows"...is titled that? Something my friend asked me which I had to bullshit through. Quote
Malaki-LEGEND.sys Posted September 16, 2009 Author Posted September 16, 2009 It has to do with the actual song lyrics. And the fact that they say it a few times in the actual song. Subete wo God knows literally means God knows everything. Quote
TheSnowStorm Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Okay, that's good to know, I guess. My theory was gonna be seeing the main character is god-like, I assume it was about Haruhi. Quote
Kinslayer Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 well, than there's a falling then, Haruhi, while God-like, definitely is not omniscient... Quote
TheSnowStorm Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 I wonder, seeing Haruhi (unknowing) wraps reality to an extreme, I wonder what would to happen to the world if she die a violent death by something who wanted to cause chaos or some shit. Quote
Kinslayer Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 I dunno, go kill her and lets see Quote
TheSnowStorm Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 I dunno, go kill her and lets see Okay, so as we can see here, she's gonna have a closed casket funeral. Quote
OverCoat Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Oh Brushfire!!! :tomatoface:Anyway, Anime doesn't need quality control Quote
Kinslayer Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 And we have here the first stills of the New Season of Shin-Chan!!! As you can see, our hero has had himself a sex change and some facial modification, but at least we can tell it's human now... Okay, SOME quality control...XD Quote

Anime just acts more realistic, most cartoons are out there, strange, crazy, meant to be diverse, Realistic eh? Is that why physics are all poopy in every anime. Also all anime has those stupid freakout things where d00ds get punched really far and stuff. Totally realistic. How about that anime where d00ds fight at redicualously high power levels never seen before. Totally realistic. I know I am splitting hairs but still. Anime needs quality visuals, a coherent plot, and three dimensional characters. Most only get 1 of 3 right. And it usually isn't #2. Quote
Malaki-LEGEND.sys Posted September 17, 2009 Author Posted September 17, 2009 That's from the first Kanon, isn't it? Quote

Anime needs quality visuals, a coherent plot, and three dimensional characters. Most only get 1 of 3 right. And it usually isn't #2. I was talking style, not anywhere in that did I mention storyline, plot, or action sequences, anime is more linear in the fact that it produces realistic looking backdrops, buildings, places, and in some instances, normal people...it also adds texture, and regardless of your opinion of it, it's everywhere, most RPG's these days follow Anime storylines, or use Anime for the cutscenes and such, you cannot deny it's popularity, if you don't agree with it, than you don't have to watch it. Plain as that, I'm not holding a gun to your head and turning Sy Fy on Monday nights so you can watch it. Quote
cobaltstarfire Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Most anime does not have realistic looking people by any stretch of the imagination. And if you think it does, I have a few figure drawing classes full of nudes you should attend so you can learn the concept of correct human proportion among other things. Quote
Kinslayer Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 um, hence the reasoning behind the word "SOME" Quote
cobaltstarfire Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 If by "some" you mean a small handfull that is extremely negligible and has little baring on the majority of anime. Quote
relyanCe Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 who hijacked the anime thread to talk about realism I wanna know who Quote
cobaltstarfire Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 I dunno, I like anime, but it's a little silly to tell someone they should like anime just because of it's stylistic elements (be they realistic or otherwise). Quote
