DarkeSword Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 That's not really a guideline. Plus those URLs work if you copy and paste them.
ladyspritzy Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 okays, noob here asking a quesiton: if the song in question is on youtube, you can make a link to it and it'd be fine, right?
SoloGamer Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 okays, noob here asking a quesiton: if the song in question is on youtube, you can make a link to it and it'd be fine, right? Youtube links are fine as far as I know. If they weren't I don't think this thread would've lasted very long.

OrzelBialey Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 i have the mp3s of the original songs that i would like to request. what site should i use to host them? any sites i find with google seem sketchy or require subscription.
Constromlie Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 If I posted a request for a parody of a real song with the melody changed to match that of music from a video game....erm...I just wanna know if ReMixes such as this are meeting the requirements. I've never heard it done, and it is not specifically mentioned in the submission rules. I'm just wondering. Would I be wrong to request it? Sounds like such a noob question, but I am just dying to know D:>
GTAHater836 Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Do the rules of ReMix requests say anything about asking for new album projects to be established (from entire games)?
Rozovian Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Do the rules of ReMix requests say anything about asking for new album projects to be established (from entire games)? No, but they're more likely to not result in any remixes. There's already a lot of projects going on, many usually interested in working on projects are already busy with the projects already in projects. And someone needs to coordinate the project. Remixes come from ppl liking the source material, so games remixers are familiar with (and have good, accessible music) are more likely to get projects than more obscure titles. After all, remixers remix what they want to. But do get ppl interested in the soundtrack of the game you're interested in hearing remixed. Nothing wrong with requesting albums, just don't have too high expectations.
Somaru Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Um, I found two sites that provide a lot of video game music for free without any signing up or anything: [links removed] I primarily use these for my purposes, so yeah.
DarkeSword Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 OCR doesn't allow links to sites that feature commercial soundtrack downloads.

Dj Mokram Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 4. Other things you might include in your request: [...] link to original track. Seeing as many requests still get posted without so much of a YT link, how about making this a requirement instead of a suggestion?
Arkl1te Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 As for the "genre" part, you ask for the genre of the original track, or the remix itself? What if I don't know in which category the original track falls in, can't be enough by just listening to the track ? Another question: what if I'd like a remix of multiple tracks, or does it have to be from just one? As I read my own questions, they may sound pretentious, when I'm actually just curious in how this exactly works, as I listened to the radio and heard a remix of two tracks. Not sure if this is done voluntarily by the remixer or if it can be actually requested.
timaeus222 Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Genre of the remix. Make multiple topics, within reason. two-source remixes are fair game, but they might be harder to write for some people.

"Hey can someone make a remix of Super Mario Bros. Overworld mixed with Sonic's Green Hill Zone? Here are the sources." Done. I've made a new Guidelines thread. Old one is a bit outdated. timaeus222 and Arkl1te 2
