MechaFone Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 This makes for an interesting listen. The beat is solid throughout, yet still managed to keep me interested with some changes here and there. It's good stuff, definitely worth a listen and a download Quote
SuperiorX Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Enjoyable song. I like the progression through the theme over the 4-minute run time. I agree with Shariq; I'm digging the sort-of menacing vibe this gives off. The semi-dubstep section caught me off guard, but I think it fits well, and the transition to the exposed piano section directly afterward was well done. It's cool to see more "obscure" Sonic tracks get covered more often! Quote
Kanohi Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Laid back, varied and definitely has some great progression! Loving this, great work Quote
Esperado Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 this has such a nice groove, im not a huge dubstep fan, but i really enjoyed this! Quote
Black_Doom Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Pretty nice take on the original. Love when electronica blends with piano. Great job, man! Quote
timaeus222 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Am I the only one who noticed djp's two recent Star Wars references? "In a galaxy..." and "the force is strong with this one." xD Dat percussion. Mixing some clicky 8-bit sounds into the percussion and incorporating some light wubs was a good way to mix things up a bit in the middle of the track. In general, it is a bit slow, IMO, but not terribly so. Good change-ups, and overall some alright sound design. Good work dude. "Magically bluesome." he said with a straight face. Quote
Crulex Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 This is the kind of dance track that I can really get behind. Starts off with a nice beat and a relaxing vibe to it and opens up to a bit of a dub section, before breaking back into the slow electronica. Love the piano that plays over the beat. Quote
WesternZypher Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I've liked all of BlueMagic's submissions to OCR; some musicians work within a genre they're comfortable with, but Panic Attack is distinctly different from his previous work - less chill/downbeat jazzy...it's got a refreshing "drive" to it.
