I thought it was a really handy way of finding similar mixes. We do those in the actual site database now, which isn't visible to users yet. It's a work in progress. Quote
djpretzel Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 We just upgraded to 4.1.9 - please let us know if you experience any issues! Embeds are now undoable, which is nice Full list of changes for 4.1.9 is @ https://invisionpower.com/release-notes/ Quote

The calendar events seem to have dropped off the front page. At least, the CCoI voting events did--not sure if that's because they've already started and are ongoing now, or because they're in the competitions calendar, or what. But previously they showed during the event. Quote

So it's possible this is a known bug that will be fixed in the next release. Quote

There are generally two possibilities: It was something specific to the content you were posting, which triggered a mod_security outside of IPS It was an environmental thing and/or a bug in the software So far most of the 500 errors we've seen fall into the first category, but we've tweaked the rule that was causing most issues... if it happens again & you can get me a screenshot + time/date stamp, appreciated. Yes, it was a first version of my "Frequent BSOD/crashes" thread. Just plain text, no pics or links. Quote
Chernabogue Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Another error while PMing 2 other members. Attached a screenshot of the error. Quote
Brandon Strader Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 same error, just making a reply. Tried again, cant reply Quote
djpretzel Posted April 25, 2016 Author Posted April 25, 2016 @Brandon Strader, @Chernabogue It's definitely mod_security.... again. Can you see if you can figure out the text that's triggering it? Quote

djpretzel Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 @Brandon Strader, @Chernabogue Thanks for your assistance on this - SHOULD be fixed now, please let us know if it persists or you see a similar error in the future! Chernabogue 1 Quote
Brandon Strader Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 So was it because of the word "update"? I had no way to confirm cause apparently I wrote the post on my work laptop and not at home, and I won't be back there until tonight. I am able to confirm that I did say update in the post I tried to post that didn't work. Quote
DusK Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 Honestly, I think it makes everything look kinda silly. Titles, profiles, posts, all of it. Was the line-wrapping intentional? Quote
DusK Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Here's one example. I'll amend when I see more. EDIT: Here's a second. Quote
timaeus222 Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 I don't entirely remember, but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with having "word-wrap: break-word" (or maybe "overflow-wrap: break-word", which is more recent) in the CSS. Might want to experiment with that. Perhaps switch between the two variations to see what happens. And maybe try experimenting with "display: inline/inline-block/block/etc" for the container? Quote
Brandon Strader Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Oh man, I notice that stuff on my phone all the time, not so much on a computer. It drives me nuts, especially when it starts doing it to a post I'm trying to write on my phone and it starts dashing the heck out of it like that. You using an iPhone? I assumed it was either specifically a phone thing or the forum software for phones. Quote
DusK Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 I'm using my PC. It's happening on the desktop version of the site. Quote
Brandon Strader Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 I just checked on my laptop and it does not do that.. It wraps the text, but it doesn't do it with dashes, it just does it normally.. Even if I make the window smaller it just adjusts the frames in a smart way. I'm using Chrome / Win 8.1... Otherwise no idea why it's doing that, but it seems Ok for me with laptop resolution here. Quote
timaeus222 Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Well, it's doing it for me on Firefox 42.0, and I have some pretty large resolution... (1920 x 1080) So it's not a screen size or resolution issue. I'm pretty sure it involves the word-wrap (or word-break, or overflow-wrap) or display commands in the CSS, and maybe the width specs on the container, though I'm not entirely sure how. It's a bit hard to tell, because I haven't been able to replicate this. Quote

timaeus222 Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Well... I'm definitely not getting it on Google Chrome. Quote
djpretzel Posted May 25, 2016 Author Posted May 25, 2016 Just following up on this... it's the default IPS4 theme CSS, not something we did, so we aren't necessarily fans either. SO far we haven't really tinkered much with the IPS4 theme, but that will certainly change, and as we make modifications, I'll look into this. timaeus222 1 Quote
