  2. The ones from the golden age? EA remix. Schala's THEME. etc. Wondering if the files are still in the archives - sent from my ipod at the senior's residence
  3. Haha, nah, man, people can join in on this from now until, like...the second to last week in October. X'D It doesn't officially start until June 1st, but starting early is cool with me! It'd be an absolute honour to have you be a part of this. Should poke some of the AOCC regulars, as well, and Dyne! But seriously, I'm humbled and welcome you on-board. :) I'll update the first post with your claim shortly. ♡
  4. Huh. I missed this somehow. Well, assuming people are still allowed to join in, I've been thinking about updating my song "Revenant's Waltz" to see if I can spruce it up over the original I did back in 2016.
  5. Wow! And to think I have been coming here since 2003! Congrats to all! One of my most favorite songs from here was, and still is, "For You", from MegaMan 2, by AkumajoBelmont: https://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02121 Scrolling back to look at it, it was the first remix that made me actually *sign up* just to leave a comment because it moved me so much. Still sing along to it to this day! Thanks for the great memories OCRemix! Here's to another 25 years! <3

  7. Dunno, when I saw the new dark theme the first times, I thought that some kind of apocalyptic Kefka cult must have raided the peaceful OCR platform - just to plunge the colourful world of video game music into chaos, darkness and depression. But then I thought you're just following the legendary Japanese prophecy, aren't you? O_O ... Nah, just thought that the world could need much more light 'cause of the annoying weather (c'mon - only writing about it and it's just already raining like in late autumn again) and because the world got already dark enough for many people. But maybe I'll just hang up a bright and sunny picture with a really nice tropical motif in my living room next to my studio environment. This one has a really stunning paradisiacal ambience: Or maybe this one? I'm not really a designer with an addional degree in psychology. But I think you understand how strongly certain colors and motifs can influence people's thoughts and feelings. This was perhaps one of the reasons why the painter Vincent van Gogh, in a mentally unstable phase of his life, longed for much more light, sun and colors to capture them in his works and even moved his place of residence to the sunny south. So if you want to have a few ambient-heavy Chrono Cross and Star Tropics remixes again, or if you want to tempt all the remixers on OC to make some of these, you can use the picture motifs as a new (tropical sun) light theme after the prophesied battle against darkness is over. ))
  8. The build-up of intensity and passion is just wonderful; I felt it in my heart, just an absolutely beautiful track to sit with for the near five-minute runtime. Unique and emotionally moving, a thoroughly pleasant arrangement.

  10. What a great vibe! Cozy and warm feeling. Great accordion playing and appreciate the flute in the background to add the extra warmth of the piece.
  11. Such a fun piece to listen to. With the accordion and background music makes me feel that I am in a actual pub. Well done!
  12. Yffish does not disappoint! Same energy as their "Rum Barrel" remix. Makes me feel "Argh, matey"!
  13. When this song release I was instantly hooked! I have never played the game but by listening to this remix I would love to play this game. The tune is catchy, fun, and makes you feel that you are a pirate. Arr!

  17. Still a good song to this day from start to finish. I love the ending when the tempo speeds up reminding you that the time is almost up. Timeless mix!
  18. Such a fun song! This captures the zaniness when you play EarthBound. The remix plays tricks with your ears which is exactly Mr. Saturn's intentions when you see him and his village. 😄
  19. Where'd the onions come from? 😭Beautifully remixed and the singing in the end spoke to me. Bravo!
  20. Thank you for this lovely remix! 😀
  21. I feel that I'm back watching my husband as he grinds through the game. Such a nostalgia piece!
  22. Beautifully done remix. Has the same soothing vibe of the original with a nice guitar riff.
  23. Yeah, things got quieter for djp on the site because…*checks notes*…some guy who posted on PPR a lot decided to leave. Sure. The ego you have to have to come back to OCR, comment on a year-and-a-half old goodbye thread from our site’s founder, and somehow make it about yourself and your dumb grievances is astounding.
  24. Such an organic vibe. Makes me feel like I'm watching a Pixar-Ghibli-esc movie. The guitar playing is very crisp and clear. Bravo!
  25. This arrangement is cute and charming. It starts with a subtraction on the A section, only focusing on the piano and occasionally some strings - then at 0:33 the drums and bass join, and the strings become more lively. From there, the structure is A into a variation on A and then B, and the second set at 1:31 also differs. The A section allowed the whole band to play the source straight, the variation added a square synth and some double-time chord use, then the B section went into four-on-the-floor drums, fast-moving piano climbs, and the eventual writer-stated anime cameo that I can not pinpoint. And then it ends with adapting the A section into a sudden minor key finish, with hardly any fanfare. As things stand, you've understood how to interpret the source to make it feel like yourself, and yet it still echoes a lot of the original's bounce and playfulness, which is a good thing. Looking at the prior critique of the "silence" at 1:05, I see that you're trying to go for a fun reverse effect, though it sounded like it didn't start properly until the end of that measure and sharply rose for the end of the following one. Try experimenting with an earlier start for the reverse fade to fill in more audio space. It's not essential, but it's nice to have as a change, so go with what you feel sounds right. As for the production side, the soundscape is drier than Lake Valor during the Team Galactic takeover. Combined with the choice of more techno-sounding percussion and mechanical piano writing, the overall presentation of the track feels cheap and inorganic. I'm in favor of experimenting with different types of reverb to shape up the stage, particularly on anything that isn't a kick drum or bass, and looking into the velocity shaping on the keys to give them a more convincing performance. The nature of the source and the overall adaptation mean I don't have problems with the strict timings of your notation. But any other type of humanization, whether changing velocities, note lengths, or anything else, can go a long way. This track is one of those that I'd like to see resubmitted with more focus on humanization and some reverb sound shaping. I see potential here, and if this does become a debut posted work with revision, that would be a great first impression. Keep at it. NO (resubmit)
  26. It got quieter at that moment because I left. No, actually I left because it got way too toxic. At that point I finally discovered that my self worth isn't based on if I can get the unpleasent individuals on OCR to like me so I up and left. No regrets.
