I have a decent 1:15 in my track so far... I'm feeling a lot better about this round than I did with my Round 1 track though. The style is a bit more of a return to form for me too Hah, yeah that's what I had meant. Nice job on your track this round too GLL! I love Rainy Turtloid and the lyrics in your song were very relatable1 point -

Got Destiny on PS4 a few months ago, getting ttk when it comes out. Haven't done much and I don't have the dlc (yet), but I'm always down to raid or do strikes if anyone wants to. EDIT: Got a 20 Warlock, 24 Titan and 32 Hunter (main, levelling warlock tho). Have a few exotics including Gjallarhorn. Need a group to raid with on PS4 since all my friends have it on xb1 point -
Even better idea: let's have a SFRG Bonus Round where every participant raps/sings over wildfire's instrumental. It'd be like the old vocal VOCR compos haha.1 point

Brandon sent me a few things. His track will be very good and heavy, as always I wrote my notes for VV1 and VV2, as a quick track-by-track retrospective. I'm waiting on Brandon's track to finish the album's art (back tracklist) and my own notes. It WILL be sent to eval this week-end or when I get a good connexion during a lunch break or evening.1 point -
Lacking inspiration and motivation lately
Eino Keskitalo reacted to Brandon Strader for a topic
Listen to a song you really like, then try to write a song just like it with similar elements and structure but change it all just enough that it is your own. That's basically the gist of making music anyway, but to specifically do THAT and then just have a little fun with it can be a great thing. Alternatively find an output for the music where you can get instant gratification in the form of feedback or comments, such as Youtube or somewhere not governed by a panel Maybe even the workshop forums if it's a remix. Lastly you could listen to this and just give up1 point -

Definitely agree with what some of y'all said regarding my track. It was pretty safe, I wish I had more time to work on it, I think I only got to spend about 5 hours or so on it. My dog got sick unexpectedly so I had my hands full for a while, but hey things happen! The guitar was a last minute addition and it wasn't too great of a take. I'll definitely try to expand on it before I try to submit it.Thanks for all the comments so far! Gonna give the tracks a listen some time tomorrow Also, I don't think I ever did metal WillRock though I've done a couple rock remixes here and there. Maybe I'll attempt that next time!1 point -

Other than this contest, will there be any opportunities to purchase a physical copy? I must say I was extremely disappointed when I missed out during the kickstarter, and would love to have the opportunity.1 point -
Dark Souls 3
Sam Ascher-Weiss reacted to RoeTaKa for a topic
One of my favourite things about Dark Souls is its story. Comparing it to a painting is an interesting analogy because you can come up with your own interpretations and everyone can question it a bit differently. This is what Miyazaki wants from players because he had to do the same thing when reading Western books when he was younger with limited understanding of the English language -- which led him to do the very same thing. What is more important about Dark Souls is purpose, nearly everything in that world has a reason and a why. If someone was to say they didn't like how Dark Souls portrays its story or it just wasn't for them I can completely understand that, but to say it's not a good story or there is no story that is just ignorant. I am not taking into account Dark Souls 2 by the way, it's a good game but it does not have anywhere near the depth and meaning of the first game. I'll admit that in my first playthrough of Dark Souls I didn't really observe as closely as I should have or piece up the dialogues and item descriptions because I just wasn't used to that from a game. Then when I did that in my second playthrough, it was like a whole new world opened and I was understanding how wonderful the world and its characters were. It's a very rare thing and I hope that Dark Souls 3 offers this again. I really liked Bloodborne, it's a fantastic game. I don't think it has the depth of a Dark Souls game story wise and I think there are things about that world which could have been embelished more. However it does have depth, if you haven't finished it there is quite a lot to it you probably still don't understand. I really hope the DLC adds to this and isn't just more gameplay. Artorias of the Abyss for Dark Souls I think is possibly the greatest DLC ever made and it added so much more to the lore of the game that was worth every penny.1 point -

All in good fun Gar But yes, I think 8 basses would have sealed the deal. Eights of Bass. And yeah, all of your more recent stuff I've heard (SZRC 2014, your one track from this compo) has been sounding even better!1 point -

haha. jack as... i mean, excellently awesome former boss. that wasn't layering that was just piling sound on sound until it started to sound good. I think i was roughly 3 more basses short of it working too. really tho once i got through that remix things started clicking production wise for me like crazy.1 point -

Music will go up later tonight folks. Sorry, got caught up with some other things last night. Also, remember guys, if you're having trouble coming up with an idea for your remix this week, you have team members you can bounce ideas off of. Get on Skype or something and start brainstorming. There's nothing wrong with having your team members come up with the seed of your arrangement, so long as you're the one expanding it out into a full piece.1 point -
