  1. Just been crying and eating ice cream for the last two years. But really ive just been taking loads of pictures, Getting sucked into the Souls games, trying to straighten my life out (is that even a thing?) and putting game music on the back burner. If im being honest, i also got pretty discouraged by my lack of skill and inability to follow project deadlines so i left for a while out of shame. But, sometimes you just cant walk away, and the community just has so many wonderful people in it. Plus theres all the music, compos and the magfest festivities.

  3. So keen to hear all the mixes from this round. I love how brilliant these compos are for getting better in such a short period of time.

  4. Heh, somehow missed this. Dig the concept! I'm a bit too busy atm to make a claim and join, but I do have a question. I'm oldskool and an MSX home computer fan so I'd be interested in doing a King's Valley 2 remix. Does it qualify? It's an 8 bit puzzle game by Konami with an archeologist exploring pyramids in Egypt and features some cool Egyptian music that just begs for a remix. Here's a video with some gameplay and music:

  6. Yes. It's a simple tremolo. But y'know, the real thing would be less machine-gun.

  8. Greetings everyone! This is my one and only OCRemix, and I wanted to thank everyone for the many positive comments and constructive criticisms. I've done very little music composition (roughly 7 complete works between 1999-2002), so I consider it a huge privilege to even be here. Tetris has always been a favorite game of mine, and I was extremely pleased with how 'Techtris Type Z' turned out (at the time). Most notably, with the completely original, ambient/piano composition between the main theme (especially since I never learned to read music). Unfortunately, as many others have observed, it hasn't aged well. Featuring the sound fidelity of a 1990's techno track, it pales in comparison to the countless examples of amazing talent featured on OCRemix. Nevertheless, considering that it was created in 2000, using nothing more than a Gravis Ultrasound sound-card (that had a 4Mb memory stick for samples), and Cakewalk Studio -- I'm still somewhat impressed at what I was able to accomplish, and extremely honored to be here. Thank you.

  10. I had chills beginning at 0:12, and when 1:58 hit, it's like the temperature dropped twenty degrees. The arrangement is glorious and oozes of unbridled energy.

  11. I come and go at times. I was working a lot earlier this year, and had a pretty busy summer, but I'm posting a bit more here and working on more music again. Notably in the SFRG thinger, but I'm looking to finish up all my project commitments in the near future and work on some more original stuff to release.

  12. I know! It's a joke and so funny to us regulars. But ask anyone who has been to the site and left why they did so. I was just pointing it out to be constructive, not to hurt anyone's feelings. For what it's worth I honestly don't know how to fix it. I know the choosing process takes a long time to get new judges, and even if there were 50 of them it wouldn't guarantee that they'd all judge often enough that the panel wasn't so far behind. And I don't know what it's like on the back end, maybe the way the inbox or updating the text-based stuff slows it down too. I'm sure the uphill battle of it makes it unappealing right now.

  13. You know how much more active OCR would be if the panel was fast? Just saying, if it took a bit less than a year to get a "NO" vote I could see people being a little more active here It'd be nice to have a lot of new people. I like remixing a lot but I've been stuck doing pro jobs (i call them that cause it includes money) and playing video games, mostly Destiny, but I just got Until Dawn.
