  1. All right, the epic conclusion, as promised! The Final Battle This battle will be between OA, representing Simon Belmont, and Jorito, representing Dracula. As for the sources: You must use your own stage source (Dracula's Castle or Wicked Child). You may use your opponent's source. You must use at least two of the following: Castlevania: Black Night (https://youtu.be/E-OC2iDwMT4) Castlevania II: Simon's Quest: Last Boss (https://youtu.be/Qdb0B2XbM_Q) Castlevania: The Adventure: Evil Devil (https://youtu.be/M0Mjf5-2qXU) Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge: Sons of Satan (https://youtu.be/NHDIIme-Vdw) Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse: Big Battle (https://youtu.be/-Zmb2KGJcow) Castlevania Chronicles: You Goddamn Bathead (https://youtu.be/WZ9OsWNLUOg) Castlevania: Rondo of Blood: Illusionary Dance (https://youtu.be/Jpizm9ZYYZc) Castlevania Bloodlines: The Vampire's Stomach (https://youtu.be/HFbUgpwxRaw) Castlevania: Symphony of the Night: Black Banquet (https://youtu.be/GXcJ80jueM8) Castlevania Legends: Count Dracula Battle (https://youtu.be/fZxzOOk_EXU) Castlevania Legends: Vampire Killer (https://youtu.be/PgmkCme5wLg) Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness: Concert of Another Dimension (https://youtu.be/54p86oi2xgg) Castlevania: Circle of the Moon: Proof of Blood (https://youtu.be/1UezwYEC6uI) Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance: Old Enemy (https://youtu.be/PZ2Go8EkLNY) Castlevania: Curse of Darkness: Metamorphosis to the Black Abyss of Death (https://youtu.be/HJ5-jOtBbJ4) Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin: Banquet of Madness (https://youtu.be/9qcOtuw7qBI) Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia: Order of the Demon (https://youtu.be/y5HD1Onj0qw) The file name of your mix should end in (Dracula in the Entrance, 1797) or (Dracula in the Crumbling Tower, 1691). The deadline is 3 weeks from now: April 20 at 12:00 PDT. Epilogue Anyone is welcome to participate in this round. Current participants should use the same source they've been using all along. Anyone who wants to join in for just this round may do so; just post the source you'd like to use, using the same rules as the beginning of the tournament, so I can make sure it follows those rules. The other source you'll be remixing your chosen source with is Evergreen. Your title should use "Evergreen, 1476" as the source name. Again, the deadline is 3 weeks from now: April 20 at 12:00 PDT. Good luck!

  2. I do not recommend buying small things from Komplete, because unless it is Kontakt, you can't crossgrade reasonably. You'll pay full price for Komplete eventually, then have duplicate licenses of those other products and be at a net loss of a couple hundred dollars. If you want to be frugal in the long run about this, pick up Kontakt on Black Friday for $200, then crossgrade next year for $200 (during the half off upgrades sale). That's $400, so net savings of $100.

  3. We still have some time. NWM is at the end of April. Would like to get things done asap.

  4. @HoboKa I did some digging for you on the Crossgrade options for Komplete 10. Here's their disclaimer: This crossgrade only works for users of KOMPLETE KONTROL S25-88, MASCHINE 2 software (included with MASCHINE STUDIO, and new purchases of MASCHINE and MASCHINE MIKRO), KONTAKT 1-5, REAKTOR 2-5, GUITAR RIG KONTROL 1-5 (but not LE, GO, XE, SESSION or other versions of GUITAR RIG). You won't be able to install and activate this version unless you own one of the required products listed above!

  5. I'm gonna pay good money to see Michael Fassbender fall 300 feet into an assassination target, get up like he didn't even feel it, and say "requiescat in pace" I imagine in this scenario the audience would go insane, popcorn and sodas would be flying everywhere. Women would begin weeping. Three more sequels would be announced, and the blu-ray pre-orders would go platinum

  6. *Waves hand* Sorry I haven't been able to contribute to the Dracula bracket. Honestly it was kind of a relief to get knocked out because I've been struggling with school enough as it is. Too bad everyone else seems to have had similar problems...

  7. Hey so, planning to get on this really soon and getting you a WIP asap, Darke. I have a question though. I know that OC Remix has some pretty strict guidelines on sampling but in this regard, how in trouble would I be if I used the very beginning of the intro song for Smash 64 as the beginning of this track? I have a neat idea but it entirely revolves around the idea of using a soundbite of the Smash 64 intro song.

  8. If Komplete is out of your price range then Absynth isn't really something to consider either, great synthesizer but $200 isn't trivial when $500 is completely out of the question. Komplete is a good deal and you'll wind up spending more in the long run on small purchases anyway. I think NI does some kind of discount if you have an included product like Massive too, you could look into that

  9. This is where sympathetic and creative scriptwriting and plot development should come in - spend the money on this, and not the AAA stars. Comicbooks, which you also quoted me on, and I reply to below, are consistently well written and drawn, but make it to movies and TV shows. So games are no exemption from this. Perhaps in the past 5-10 years, because as I said, they've upped their game- especially in TV. but certainly not the entirety of the 21st century. A few flops that spring to mind are Hulk, Fantastic 4, Daredevil, Xmen Origins: Wolverine, Green Lantern. Also, when you say critically acclaimed, which critics? I'm not picking a fight, but a lot of how this conversation is turning out is speculative and opinion-based. Sorry if I misread your reply and wrongly interpreted it as hostile. EDIT: Also apologies Thin Crust for diverting the course of the topic, I was compelled to elaborate/explain myself.

  10. It's not a movie per-se but here's a fantastically realised short of Metroid for those who've not seen it: If film companies were to be more sympathetic to the IP rather than following the money, I expect there would be a whole swathe of feature films of the above's calibre. The closest similarity to "Game Movies" I can think of is "Comicbook" movies, and look how hit-and-miss they can be. They seem to have sorted themselves out in recent years, but that seems to be because they've realised you just shouldn't anger comicbook fans. I doubt gamefans would get the same respect, so I consider it a blessing there are very few game films, all said.

  11. Hey Winning. I need you to do something for me. I need you to start making some music and posting those tracks in the "Post Your Remixes" forum. You're asking a ton of really general questions one after the other in this thread. What you need to do is actually start making music and posting those tracks in their own threads and start getting specific feedback about things you're trying to do. A lot of your questions are also really general. "How do I make dubstep?" "How do I use East West?" This thread was originally about Guitar Settings in FLStudio, but at this point you're just using it as a personal question dump. Stop asking questions and start making tracks. Post your tracks and get feedback. Ask specific questions about specific things you're doing in the tracks that you're working on. This is the best way to learn how to produce music.

  12. I agree with almost all of Mike's vote. I think the deal-breaker is indeed about the vocals, but I personally don't think the performance is the main problem. It may not be *the perfect match* for that track, but that's asking for a lot. My problem is with the mixing of the voice. The backing track is beautiful and well-executed on its own, but it feels like the lead vocal wasn't given nearly as much attention in the mixing efforts. It's not blending in the rest of the track at all. I feel like some EQ work could be done to help with that, and I'd suggest taking a look at the low-mids particularly, seems to me like that's where most of the weird stuff is happening. I also think the vocals could use a bit of reverb to blend in more. Reworking the overall levels by putting more consideration in the vocals could also be a good idea to try and blend them in better. Maybe Mike and Kris are right, and what this needs is a different voice, but I do think it might not be the case, and that it's definitely worth trying to rework the mix with the current voice. NO (resubmit)
