  1. Ack, I forgot to listen to the bonus entry! I'll get right on that. Thanks for the votes everyone - I was afraid I was pushing the boundaries of mnp a little too far, but I had an idea and just decided to roll with it. I've got some ideas for next time and I should be able to submit my choice for that tomorrow.

  2. Piano was Kontakt factory library Concert Grand which usually sounds pretty good, but I having a tougher time getting a good sound out of the lower notes, probably just need to EQ it better

  4. Hi SlapMagic, the sounds are crisp and clear and song is all in all, like from some anime series(thats a good thing)! I like the riffs and basslines. I'd like though, if you'd go a little lower on volume on the 'passing by' sounds at 56 seconds, 1min 56s and 3min 10s. I think they clip some of the song too when they're played Also I tend to find overall bassness a lil low on drums, and that's just my personal taste ofc. Hope this helps!

  5. Thanks for the reply and feedback of the song! We'll be correcting some of the vocals and instruments when we get the time for it. It is really good to hear opinion about the song, because what I think is, that when doing a song, you'll listen it as a composer+singer so much, that you come 'deaf' to some things, like vocals sounding off, instruments etc. That is why criticism is always welcome, and while doing same stuffs again it might be involving some arm hair/hair pulling, I don't really see that as a negative. When some of our friends listened the song, they were like "-yea it sounds nice"-, so we didnt really get any good criticism from them. Gotta ask them to be more precise I guess! And yeah, we'll need to keep more breaks of doing the song, so we can listen it with "fresh ears"! But anyway, thanks again for the feedback SlapMagic! I'll be posting the song again when it is redone

  6. Soooooo cool!!!!!! It's as if you dove into the water in Erana's Garden and found a space ocean under it. XD That's what it made me picture anyway... Ahhhhhh yaaaaaaay. I'm going to listen to it a bunch more times now. Thank you!!!!!

  7. We must be kindred spirits. Really like the minimalism approach on the piano and the ever-so-slight detuned effect on the guitar. Totally enjoying this track from both a compositional and pure auditory perspective.

  8. I'm with MindWanderer. The arrangement's strong, but the mixing's too cluttered. I've tried giving it the benefit of the doubt, but I ultimately agreed that it's not mixed well. I'm not against power in a rock track, but every section with the source melody or the backing chugs in play was too cluttered, and that's a dealbreaker. The synth at 2:42 & 3:21 did step over the guitar, and the sequencing was really stilted there as well. Dustin's usually got things on pretty solid ground, but there are just too many sections where the mixing is sloppy. NO (resubmit)

  9. So we've sent the album off to OCR staff for evaluation last week. Now it's a matter of waiting for their feedback In the background we're hard at work finishing off the track order, the artwork and miscellaneous bits 'n bobs. so that we can make the release as smooth as can be. No final confirmed release date as of yet, just stay tuned for any updates on the regular OCR channels!

  10. The remixer may have been sky high when writing this, but this is super grounded to me; while there's some play around 1:45-2:15, it's still a calming, enjoyable float on a lazy river with a cool drink in your hand. Super enjoyable. Well done!
