  2. Congrats to Dex for coming in first place, and thanks to everyone for their entries and comments! I've gotta echo Dex's comments on your bonus entry, HoboKa - I loved those drums! --- As for mine: I kind of figured that I was really stretching rule #2 for MnP (slowing it down from 198 to 120 BPM), but I thought why not give it a go anyway. Still, I'm glad you all enjoyed it, and it was even compared to Metroid Prime's soundtrack. Heck, that alone made me ecstatic! So, thanks for the comments, Dextastic and HoboKa! Dex, you mentioned that you liked that echoing lead - if you have the Synth1 VST, check out Alfmeister's Magic Cracker soundbank (it's an 80s synth soundbank) - it's called Dreamer's Delight MW. The bass was from the Gecko Soundbank, and it was called Breakin' Bass. --- Once again, I enjoyed all of the entries this round, and I'm looking forward to the next.

  5. I forgot to submit my comment on the bonus entry when I voted so I'll just post it here now. hoboka - Damn, those are some epic drums and I thought you did a really good job with the drum part and the leads. I liked the rising part on the synth strings (?) you added about 2/3 of the way through.

    Castlevania Season 2 Cometh

So I watched the series (I think my fiancee and I binged it over two nights - not a long series, even at twice the length of the first season), and I'll say it's really good*. *The anime is both quite slow, focusing on political intruigue and the emotional turmoil of the protagonists and antagonists, and at the same time quite fast, once the characters had time to be established the crew runs through the castle at an alarming pace. The action is great, though, and the character moments were really something to behold - even got a little teary-eye'd at the end (no spoilerz, bois). But yeah, great season 2, and it's nice to see the anime gave some room for another season or two, if people really want it. At the same time, it could end at this point pretty comfortably - I'd be okay with it either way. Good stuff here, we can forget the haters.

  8. It'd probably be easier to mod a PSP to do that. That thing is the best PS1 emulator ever made, you can get one cheap and it's relatively easy to mod. I likely won't have a need for a PS Classic, but my mind could easily change under the right circumcisions.
