I would still like an audio podcast. I listen to podcasts throughout the day on my phone, whereas I don't always have access or the inclination to listen to Youtube for an hour or two. To me this makes a fine podcast, I don't really watch the video much. It's just people sitting around.

Fit Club ahoy! Where men are bros and women are also bros!
Argle replied to OceansAndrew's topic in General Discussion
With weights, I would say a month or more? It's hard to remember. The pain kind of crept up on me. Some days I don't have it at all, other days it's noticeable right when I get out of bed. It goes away when I'm walking for a little bit. It's more like, when I get up from a chair or out of bed. Then I feel the pain. It happens the most when I point my toes towards my head. When I point them away I don't feel any pain. So there must be something about that range of movement that is significant. One thing that has occurred to me - when I sit at a computer chair (large portion of the day), I tend to tuck my feet under the chair with my feet pointed in the uncomfortable direction. Sometimes I have to force myself to stretch my legs and feet out rather than keep them scrunched up. -

Hey, has anyone had tendonitis in their ankles? For the last few+ weeks I've had chronic pain in my ankles, but it waxes and wanes. Somewhat random in occurrence. At first I thought it was arthritis. But I don't have it anywhere else.. the ankles would be a weird place to get it. So I did a search and tendonitis popped up. And now that I am really paying attention to the pain, it's toward the outside of my ankles, not in the joint. The only thing I can think of is I'm doing weighted calf raises. I wonder if those are making it flare up, doing ankle movements with a lot more than my bodyweight. I'm going to lay off them for a week or two and see what happens. It's pretty annoying pain, not hobbling or anything but I definitely didn't have this in the past. -
finished Chrono Trigger - Secret of the Forest [ambient]
Argle replied to Argle's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Yep I have Omnisphere. What I would really like is some rustling in the leaves, like the enemies in the forest in Chrono Trigger. Also some more creature sounds. I wonder if I could work in a ringing bell.... -

Ah, you made me remember! I DID want to put in chimes. I need to dig thru my samples and try to find ones that fit. As for FX, I want the overall feel to be ethereal, yet with an undercurrent of menace. Like, who knows what the dappled light of the ancient forest hides. -
finished FFIII "Go Above The Clouds" Chiptune Punk remix
Argle replied to PixelPanic's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
It's really weird, for something hard panned (the rhythm guitars), it sounds very narrow. Whereas the lead gtr, I would definitely prefer it to be center than the right channel. -

I would like to add some more FX. I'm trying to think of what other animals or sounds would make sense. It's definitely something I am going to work on. -
finished Chrono Trigger - Secret of the Forest [ambient]
Argle replied to Argle's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Yep, it's already subbed. And actually, I had to repeatedly resist the urge to add anything percussive... I wanted just atmosphere, washed out melody, and light pulsing of the repeated motif. I want to test the limits of the judges patience. Oh and the voice is from Forest Kingdom, which got a lot of use for obvious reasons. -

In the Green Gloom You won't find a more boring rendition of this . Six minutes of your life you can never get back. -
wip Mario Kart 64 Ending Theme Piano Arrangement
Argle replied to Sauraen's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
That's a pretty shitty thing to ask someone, TBH. If you did any research you would know that EastWest uses iLok, which is generally piracy-safe. Also that they constantly have sales, so it's easy to get a good deal on their stuff. -
I don't agree that the judges are biased against ambient stuff. Patrick Burns track from Balance and Ruin, which was posted, is a perfect example of an ambient and mellow track with great execution.

"Moving on" from OC ReMix (split from BGC apology)
Argle replied to djpretzel's topic in General Discussion
For my own part I have come to the point where I'm not interested in writing original music anymore. I haven't written a track in years. So OCR gives me an outlet to keep making music rather than quitting, which I was considering last year. I don't mind abiding by their standards because it's still lots of fun to rearrange video game themes I grew up with. Of the tracks I've had passed, I don't feel that I had to compromise my vision on any of them. idk, that's just my view. -
Wow that's a great trailer, both the visuals and audio. Sounds like everyone brought their A game!

Domain Registration Email: is this legit?
Argle replied to Patrick Burns's topic in General Discussion
Were you the one who looked these people up for the purpose of buying the domain name, or did they come to you? If the latter, it looks like an obvious scam. The escrow and direct wire payment options are an extreme giveaway. -
Agreed with ACO. Also, everything sounds super lo-fi, which I don't think works for an atmospheric soundscape. There's an abrupt transition at 1:42 that's pretty jarring. Some of your resonant sweeps are distorting, which I don't think is a good sound for ambient.

"Moving on" from OC ReMix (split from BGC apology)
Argle replied to djpretzel's topic in General Discussion
I can't count the number of times I've read something to the effect of, "I don't know how you keep releasing so many awesome remixes!" As if OCR is a single entity that is producing all the mixes. -

I don't have hair loss in my direct family, so it'd be a damn shame to ruin that with creatine. -

For my part I'm extremely jealous of BGC's success. -

@creatine, hmm, I tend not to drink enough water as it is, so maybe I should avoid it. -

Figure I'll share some progress... I actually have some semi-abs going on. Nothing to write home about, but I've never had anything approaching visible abs in my entire life, even during my teenage years when I didn't have a belly pouch. Course I never exercised regularly before. I'm a classic ectomorph/hardgainer, so this is pretty cool for me, and makes me want to go even further. -

Does anyone here take creatine? Seems like it just provides you with some extra energy during a workout after you've ingested enough of it. Wondering if it's worth it, or are there side effects.
