  1. You guys have screwed yourselves because now I know who to pester if I need some rap vocals.
  2. yes, this is an open offer until further notice.
  3. Luckily for you, Valhalla DSP plugins are 50 a piece, and they're all awesome.
  4. As I get older I prefer games at take 10 to 15 hours to complete. There are many games that i simply don't finish anymore. I don't have as much patience for 50+ hour slogs as I used to. That said, I recently clocked up a ridiculous 85 hours in Tactics Ogre LUCT. I probably could have written a few songs in that time. I spent probably 200 hours in Oblivion, and have only finished it once. I honestly view that time as wasted. Not sure if any of this answers the OP. I think as gamers age their time becomes more valuable to them, and they're more likely to want games they can finish in a reasonable amount of time.
  5. Did you turn the drums down? Things sound more balanced than I remember the last time. I like it, sounds nice. The arrangement is simple but gets the job done. Sounds are good quality, nothing lofi or fake sounding. The key changes at 1:25, 2:40 and 3:44 still don't sit well with me. In each case it feels that you change a beat too soon and there's some clashing. Other than that, not sure I can come up with any reasons why it wouldn't pass the panel.
  6. Less than a year is a fair number. Within the next 365 days you will have your album.
  7. Refresh my memory, where does this track play in the game? I played SotN partway through like 6 months ago, but I forgot what area this music is in.
  8. Well you certainly chose an iconic theme. Tough act to follow. Right off the bat I noticed that the guitar part kinda sticks out. I think if it was doubletrack and panned out it would sound better. Drums are pretty weak. Snare sounds like someone tapping on a door. Not sure if there is a bass guitar? The orchestral layers are overwhelming the rock parts. Nice guitar solo. At first I thought it was too close to the original, but you mixed it up later. So yeah, I think it has promise but you need to add balls to the rock aspect.
  9. I don't mind violence. That said, I don't seek out first person shooters or GTA-style games. The violent games I tend to play are more along the lines of Resident Evil 4 or Dead Space. And of course the cartoonish splatters of the likes of Diablo 2. I'm not convinced that violence has zero effect on gamers, though.
  10. This is a good idea and all, but aren't there only like 2 workshop mods?
  11. Let me guess, this is another event on one of the coasts.
  12. If only they removed the requires constant internet connection thing, I might actually play it. Oh well. I have a zillion other games to play.
  13. I didn't find the drums that hard to work with. Being a sampled kit they all were well recorded. If you thought this was hard, try mixing a live kit that has been recorded poorly.
  14. Does anyone have a game theme that they want me to do in a winter/Christmas style? I'm open to suggestions.
  15. I've been doing some experimenting with ReaSamplomatic (which I never use), and it seems that you have to set Pitch@start to whatever makes the sample play at the correct pitch. It doesn't seem to detect the root pitch automatically. -60 works for a sample that's at C4.
  16. When you say you loaded a track into ReaSamplomatic, is it something you could have just dragged and dropped right onto a track instead? Or is it an instrument sample you played with MIDI?
  17. Doing some necro bumpage here, because this game has been a real surprise for me. it's the opposite of games that I was excited to play but disappointed me. I wasn't sure what to make of this game, but it turned out to be really addictive. the weirdest thing is, I don't get pissed off when I die repeatedly. its like, oh, I'll get a completely new random experience next time... cool.
  18. Hmm, doing a mix in a week still doesn't really appeal to me, but getting two weeks off is better then having to crank out one per week. and its not Sonic or Mega Man, so that's a point in its favor. put me down as tentatively interested.
  19. I bet I could finish FF9, which I own but have never played, before this is released.
