  1. The production kinda lacks energy, imo. The elements are all there, but there's something bland in the execution. I'm not sure what would be needed to improve it... more automation, EQ work, layering drum sounds, different synth choices, etc. I'm not sold on the lead synth sound and the bass. Also I would say there doesn't seem to be quite enough top end in the mix, but I could put that down to these headphones, so, yeah.
  2. Maybe it's these headphones but the beats seem kind of muffled/not bright enough. I always liked this song but could never figure out how it would translate to any kind of remix, so kudos for making the attempt.
  3. I did that for years with a voice recorder, only to accumulate hundreds of vocal snippets that I never did anything with.
  4. Im not entirely sure I understand where Eevee fits into the grand scheme of things vis a vis these mixes, which are random Pokemon songs, but ok. Tunes sound good.
  5. yeah it's a pretty strange concept to me. If you look at me you wouldn't think anything but "thin". I have skinny arms and legs, although working out has made some progress that area. yet from my mid 20s onward I've been getting fat buildup in my belly, boobs, and butt. I just put it down to getting older, but it could definitely be food related. I'm already aware of the negative potential of food, having grown up with a ton of food allergies.
  6. I was reading over the weekend about "skinny fat". I had honestly never heard of this term before, but it seems to apply to me a bit. Probably less so these days cuz I'm regularly exercising. But eating a quart of ice cream for lunch probably isn't the smartest move.
  7. Yeah, I'm thinking thats the problem. I fluctuate between eating pretty healthy and giving into the dark side. I need to work on controlling the food demons. Just cause I metabolize things fast doesn't give me carte blanche to eat horrible shit. I have one of those scales that measures body fat and stuff. It's almost never above 10% body fat, usually in the 9-10.5 range. But, yeah, that could be off for sure.
  8. Took long enough to be released. hb
  9. So you want the benefits of an expensive guitar, without the pesky paying for it thing that most folks do. Got it. I certainly hope the salespeople are on the lookout for cheapskates with laptops.
  10. That is awesome. I love his work on WoT, and the Way of Kings.
  11. Jeez, you young punks. I started in my early 20s. I'm a doddering old man now.
  12. So, yeah, I've been wondering about this for awhile. I'm pretty thin, <= 10 percent body fat I reckon. Metabolism is quite fast, always has been. Yet I still have a bit of a pouch going on my belly. Its quite perturbing. All these crunches and stuff I'm doing are for naught if belly fat is covering it up. Yet I'm not a fatass, so what's up with this? Harrumph.
  13. This song is almost to the point of adorable. I can't get the idea of an 80s sitcom out of my head now. Yes. Yes. Super fun track.
  14. Doesn't look like there are all that many ethnic instruments. RA and Silk have a lot more, or Garritan World Instruments (barf). These are more like, good niche items to round out your existing collection. That being said, the Qanun sounds very tasty, my credit card is tempted by the sweet siren song.
  15. fuck me, I remember when they released Mallets awhile ago and I thought, I want this, will wait for a sale though. Then I forgot the name of the company and the product entirely, until just now thanks to your post.
  16. +1, I've never heard this either. I would assume a store could sell it above teh MSRP, and simply no one would buy it.
  17. This is some crazy shit. It falls under the "complete subversion of the original" category of arrangement. Hope to hear more of this stuff.
  18. Yeah man this is nice. And the fact you're a new member of the Reaper family makes me feel a connection with you.
  19. Just an FYI, for the comments they took two separate comments from me (from my OCR sub & the album) and mashed them together. So if it reads a bit... incoherent... that is the reason!
  20. I like music that sounds good. I used to be really into shred guitar, but got bored with that after awhile. I find it difficult to listen to Dream Theater these days, while a band like Vanden Plas that writes simpler, more melodic songs is still satisfying to me after all the years.
  21. This was a great deviation from the usual Narshe-jazz arrangements (not that there's anything wrong with that). Sounds like you're lost in an ethereal dream. It makes me want to do an ambient arrangement of something.
  22. to me the concept of a "guilty pleasure" is pretty sad. if you like something you shouldn't have to justify it to others.
