  1. I think it's safe to say that we've all had that dream where djp floats in through the bedroom window like Peter Pan clothed only in a single ribbon of silk. Don't worry about it, it's natural.
  2. ^^^ I don't think you're the only one. G Gundam, anyone? Man that show was silly. Damn, actually both these shows were silly, though Battlebots was kind of awesome for a little while. Two ramming/lifting bots versus each other was usually interesting, as was anything with just one harsh attack, like the ones that struck downwards.
  3. I may very well be down for that. I haven't got to work the next day until 2:00, so I could even be down for chillin Friday night.
  4. HAHAHAHa that is freakin' sigged. Nice. As for blurring the line, this has happened to me on more than one occasion. After playing either Need for Speed or Burnout for a while (I can't remember which,) I was driving by our local mall and saw a line of tractor trailers. I considered, in all seriousness, that if I swerved over and plowed into them, I wouldn't do that much damage to my car, and could keep going, back to my house. Then I thought about it for a second, and slapped my forehead strongly. By far the worst instance of this, though, was while I was playing through Chrono Trigger to get all the endings. Taking a break from the game for a bit, I thought to myself that I should go outside since it was such a nice day. Thinking about what I could do that would be out in the sun, I figured playing in traffic might be fun, but that I would have to save my game beforehand in case I got killed. After a full minute, it occurred to me that you CAN'T SAVE YOUR GAME IN REAL LIFE. That was sketchy. Other than that, though, I do small things like say "Flawless Victory" and roflcopter on occasion. Meh. English is a mutt of a language anyway.
  5. Holy crap, I just thought of something that is either brilliant or retarded. A NinGage that would integrate with the Wii, particularly for mobile titles or vice versa. Imagine playing a game, possibly on the Nintendo network, then receiving a call as part of the gameplay. I dunno, I at least see some minigame potential here. Hmm.
  6. Hurray, Secret Rings doesn't suck! Interesting factoid; the review sites are averaging a 7.6 rating, but the user rating is a considerably higher 9.0. Hrmm. source; http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/932811.asp
  7. In nerd style; WOOT GRATZ POP DING For real though, way to get engaged, man. I swear, everybody's doing that lately.
  8. "A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever." A bit of an oversimplification, but generally games that get rushed out to meet a deadline pay the toll. ET, anyone?
  9. A couple of additions to the N64 list; Perfect Dark and Jet Force Gemini. Back when Rare was good, they were great. Love these two games.
  10. Also, if you like heavy metal, you ought to check out the Black Mages. That's Nobuo's metal band, and they freaking rock bells.
  11. ZX was pretty solid, though good God did I get tired of the aforementioned problems with the mission system/map. Also, I was borrowing the game from a friend, and so did not have the manual, thus making the different Biometals' various moves all completely trial and error for me. Very irritating. Hopefully they'll explain things a little better this time around.
  12. Triad's pretty much got the idea, though I was actually thinking somewhat of SSR and the racing sequences in previous games. Personally, I'm looking forward to Secret Rings.
  13. The "scene" idea I was referring to is part of why people call certain games cinematic. Essentially, when the view of the action forces your eye to follow a certain path, the game's creator leaves you with a particular impression of that scene's mood, theme, etc. For instance, if the protagonist is walking towards the main villain's fortress, and the camera comes from directly behind his feet, pointed sharply upwards to encompass the whole castle, we get a sense of awe at how big the coming challenge is, how foreboding and dark and so on. This kind of thing is done to notable effect in the Devil May Cry and Onimusha games. It was actually used in Sonic before, way back in Sonic Adventure 1, when Sonic is running from that whale and the camera is fixed in front of him.
  14. Agreed. I think they might have to tone down the fantastic elements (vampires in F4's, anyone?) but otherwise this has a decent chance of not sucking. 'Bout damned time.
  15. Hmmm, I just had an interesting idea, and wonder what you guys think of it. Imagine a 3-d Sonic that places the emphasis back on speed and platforming, but does it through a simplified, maybe cel-shaded graphical style with some really cool blur effects and a good predetermined camera. The self-controlled camera of the last few games has been crap, often coming from a poor angle or pulled in too close, and I think a non-controlled camera, when done correctly, can create a terrific "scene" kind of experience. Comments/questions/flames?
  16. http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01108/ Mario and beach music=good. http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR00408/ Spekkio and beach music=weird but good. http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR00478/ Perhaps a bit techno, but McVaffe, and thus, all good. Also, JIMMY BUFFETT. EDIT: You're a tricky one, Murmeli.
  17. "Aeris Lives" is absolutely beautiful.
  18. http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/929718.asp?q=sonic%20the%20hedgehog That's pretty consistent, too. Ouch, SEGA. And people wonder why they're not making consoles anymore.
  19. It really wasn't spelled out; you feel like you just made everything dandy and ushered in a new age of collaboration between the two realms, then that idea just gets vetoed with a single action.
  20. Yeah that confused me a bit as well. Best I could come up with was that she didn't want the events of TP to repeat if someone else were to start some shit.
  21. Obviously, this is a matter of opinion, but how could you not get some strong emotion from Link running to find Midna, or for that matter, her breaking the mirror with her tear as she nearly tells Link something important. Hell, even the scene with the Zora queen looking over her son had me choked up a little. Beautiful. I would probably rank the endings as equal. At the end of both, I just sat there for a second in a stunned silence.
  22. So guys, it's come to my attention that Link wasn't actually left-handed in Ocarina and Majora's. True, he wielded his sword and various other melee items (Deku sticks, Megaton hammer, etc.) with his left hand, but a friend of mine brought up the very valid point that he aims the slingshot and bow with his right. It's rather difficult to aim either of these weapons with your off hand, so that pretty much makes him ambidextrous. What a badass.
  23. Way of the Samurai I and II. I frickin' love those games, and there are MANY problems with them, especially the first one. I'm a sucker for most samurai though, so they do play to my weakness.
  24. Aye. That having been said, as much as mere graphical upscaling irritates me, that's not going to slow down any time soon. Moore's law, anyone? As for a lot of the predicted peripherals and so on, the surrounding screen is a little too baller for most people. To do it as a headset is possible, but that would probably bring back some bad memories of R-zones and Virtua Boys. I tend to think that motion sensing will become as standard as analog controls and wireless have in recent years. Beyond that, I'm not too sure. It's a tad early.
