  1. Since I got my studio computer last year I've decided to donate a big pile of money instead of getting a christmas gift from my family each year. This gave me some great options. Thanks.

  7. *anso totally bumps this* so, first off props for making a katamari remix. I was planning on getting a first-posted on that eventually but you will def beat me to it I guess I'll do We <3 Katamari instead. So, for the constructive critcism: The bass synth is really the only thing that's giving away this as an Angels Gift-remix. While it's VERY important that it's there, the bass doesn't sound all that good. It's too harsh to fit in the overall soundscape, use a softer bass and layer it with some mid-synth lead maybe? Try different things until you feel it fits. Maybe it's just my personal opinion though. The drums during that part is very muddy even though they are interesting, MCLass EQ is your friend As always with EQ, REMOVE unwanted frequencies, never add. Everything that isn't crucial for the sound can with great success be lowered or removed. After this part the drum work is just top-class. Great work on that. It's groovy like hell. To make this pass arrangement wise you need some more easy-to-notice references to the original. Try adapting the guitar arpeggio from the beginning of the song but with another instrument. Since Angels Gift is a song that mostly is about the general sound of the instruments it's important to catch every aspect of the actual melodies. Also, more automated-filter-freq-synths please ) Good work, keep it up man
  8. Awesome for them. I've been following the developement of Assasin's Creed in the Swedish magazine Super PLAY. They featured a monthly article and interviews directly from Ubisoft. Some exclusive funky thing. It was interesting to follow the game being shaped
  9. Well all you said is "they were lame". I think it was bold of square to try something new! The whole concept of distorting time was imho very interesting and so was the fact that all characters you joined up with had previously met. It might've been a bit patchy I'll give you that, but so was FF7. Honestly though, the gameplay kicked serious ass. this was the first RPG that I know of that really made items count. The same with the mini-game of cards. Every item you got could be made useful and be used to make magic or skills. Every card you won could later be made to items. Sure, this game isn't as focused on the leveling part and that might not be everyones cup of tea. Instead the Junction systems allow for insane combinations and customizing. GF's were lame as an attack but instead the skill-concept made Gf's a crucial part of the game. FFVIII also offers a large ammount of secrets and sidequests including Omega Weapon, many hidden GF's, Weapon creating, finding Popo the UFO, collecting magazines and so on. It feels to me like you didn't play this game the way I did. Agree to disagree?
  10. BardicKnowledge, check your piclinks also, bump for my sig-request!
  11. VOTE PROGRESS Just filling in some gaps. Need More Votes (fewer than two YES votes or tied) Playstation Tekken 3 (2-2) YES - The best Beat 'em up on the playstation. WipeOut (1-0) YES - A machine-selling game. With a fresh design, sweet soundtrack and great gameplay this is a keeper. Majority NO Playstation Final Fantasy VIII (0-3) YES - come on don't be like that. This game just does something new and imho FFVIII is one helluva game. The battle system is highly customizable, the story is twisted but engaging, the graphics were SWEEET and it's a blast to play. There's NOTHING wrong with this game. Even though FFVII and FFIX was better, this game was nowhere near bad. It's still VERY much worth having. Grandia (0-0) YES - A great port and a great game. With loads of charm, the fastest battles you've seen and a fantastic story this is a must for everyone with an interest in RPGs. The Legend of Dragoon (1-2) NO - Just making sure this doesn't pass. While it seems sony worked like dogs on this, they just didn't know what they were doing. It's a clone but sadly a bad one. The battle system is never really evolving, the story is cliché and the whole package is very so-so. Valkyrie Profile (0-0)
