  1. My "report" yesterday: That wasn't a joke. That actually happened! I DO have a FF6 Terra remix WIP. I submitted it to JUDGANATOR just for a laugh, and when it not only accepted my remix, but mistook it for Chrono Trigger, that just made my day. I've been a fan of OCR for years, but I've never been able to contribute until recently. I've finally started chasing my dreams of becoming an indie artist. And even though I knew it was a joke, just seeing that big green "YES" made me feel strangely confident. The commuinty of artists here on OverClocked ReMix has been a HUGE inspiration to me and I can't wait to finally give back to you guys. And soon, hopefully.
  2. I just submitted a Terra remix and it got accepted! Unfortunately, JUDGANATOR thought it was from Chrono Trigger. Will you guys be able to correct that before it's posted?
  3. This was already one of my favorite tracks on NESteryears. Now I love it even more! Didn't even know that was possible. Awesome stuff. Can't wait to hear the Super Metroid album!
  4. BTW Dave and Dave, the Nostalgia Critic actually made a Halloween video years ago of himself fighting a Teddy Ruxpin. It's hilarious and somewhat creepy. Awesome remix, of course. I loved BadAss V1 and I am now devilishly digging V2.
  5. No way that's the same tenor from "Dies, Nox, et Omnia"! Ryan, you've got a great voice, bro. This is easily one of my favorite cuts from the new album. I'd love to see you two star in a music video for this and put it up on OCR's youtube channel. I can already see Josh in a durag!
  6. OCR does the best April Fools pranks! I always make it an event every year to see what you guys do. And now that it's over, I want names. Who are Octopus Lime, Orgasmic Alliance, and who are the members of Block Party? Did I hear Jill in there? Also, did anyone else notice the screen-cap for the TMNT4 Quad City mashup read "Teenage Mutant HERO Turtles"?
  7. Man, this album came out of nowhere. It kicked down the door, stormed into my room, threw what I was currently listening to to the curb, and thusly began raping my eardrums. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I am truly digging the kick-assery over here; soaking in the myriad of malevolence. Nostalgia flooded as I beheld the visages of foes long since felled and I steeled myself as I looked into the eyes of evils I've yet to vanquish. I always enjoy album projects just for that reason; they reaquaint me with tunes I know by heart and introduce ones I've never heard before. Bad ass indeed. You guys put together one hell of an album. Can't wait for Vol.2! On that note, might I suggest Tabuu's theme from Super Smash Bros Brawl? I know he's not an iconic villain (not yet at least), but his music is loaded with kick-assery and I'd love to hear it remixed. Great work guys! Keep it up!
  8. Seeing the source tune and remixer, I thought I was in for some kick-ass Mega Man metal. Imagine my surprise. Pleasant surprise, that is. We already know L99 can rock hard, now we get to see his softer more accoustic side. Like I said, pleasantly surprised. And loving it! Keep up the good guit work.
  9. That was the most fun that I've had while listening to a remix in a long time. Dr. M, I truly think this is your best yet. And I just know I'm gonna be replaying this cut for the rest of the week. Ride'em, cowboy!
  10. This is the best thing to happen to OC ReMix EVER!!!! I've always wanted to create a VG remix for the site, but never had the time. Now it just takes four clicks! This is awesome! Thank you OCR. Thank you for making my dream of being a remixer a near effortless reality.
  11. Oh yes, PrototypeRaptor! Please give us more Kirby 64 remix goodness! I love the game and am so glad to see a remix of it finally on the site. You said it wonderfully in the submission email, Miracle Matter was the toughest part of the whole game. And he wasn't even the final boss! Every time I absorbed the correct power, he'd turn into something else. Grrr! He's actually more like Sybil than Dr. Lecter. I love this. The original theme was already enough to get my adrenaline racing, but you've taken it to 11. And I recognized the Vincent Price laughter at the end as well. So yes, if you've got more Kirby 64 in the works, then I can't wait to hear them. I've actually got a few ideas myself. I'd love to remix the Shiver Star levels 2 and 4 and Neo Star level 4. Also, love the Kirby "game over" sample at the very VERY end. Cheers!
  12. "Hop in the damn car!" LOVE IT! Great prank guys! I really should've perpetuated it. Next year, I promise. I missed out on the "EARemix" prank. I DO remember the "Sonic: Recapitated" project. That had me fooled for so long. Probably because I hadn't yet listened to djp's "Love Hurts" remix. If I had, I would've known in a heartbeat. One more time! "D-D-D-Damn! Damn car! D-D-D-Damn! Damn car!"
  13. Awesome stuff AnSo, as always. Great tech mix of the cave theme. And I agree. There's not enough DKC3 love out there. We need more! We've had an album project for DKC1, there needs to be a DKC2 and 3 album as well. Those are still two of my favorite game soundtracks. Hey wait a sec... ATTENTION REMIXERS!! PLEASE MAKE A DKC2 AND DKC3 ALBUM!! I can see it now. Sixto could rock out the rock-climbing theme. Sephfire could do a killer tech/industrial revamp of the factory. BGC could pump some serious adrenaline into the boss themes. CotMM could make the beehive as dark and ominous as Hell. zircon could do a tech/new age forrest interpretation. Malcos or DJP could jazz up Funky's themes. And bLiNd could trance out the rollercoaster! It would be AWESOME!! But those are just my ideas. Sorry for going off on a tangent. Great work AnSo. Can't wait for the next. Seriously, though. We'd love to see a DKC2 and 3 album. Pleeeeeeeeeeease.
  14. Awesome! Kick ass kudos to the both of yoos! Love the part at 0:24, sounds like guitars on a sugar binge. And at 2:33, always love a good synth solo. This is one hell of a first sub. I don't know how you're going to surpass it, but good luck with that. Welcome to the fold, Theory of Nonexistence. (Or as you shall now be known, ToN. As in... ToN of fun! Oh god, that was terrible. Don't look at me!)
  15. While I can understand why this wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, I just can't stop listening to it! This remix is just plain fun. And I always love hearing first subs. Hope to hear more soon. The sound fx are my favorite parts. "Yippee!"
  16. This is awesome stuff; both this and the final version on the album. Thanks for the insight into the creative process. And congrats to everyone featured on the album! Great work!
  17. I love this! The scratching kinda reminds me of Linkin Park. Great work Grammar Club. I look forward to hearing more in the future.
  18. Man, we're getting some awesome Zangief remixes lately. Always been a big fan of your work BGC. Can't wait to see what you'll come out with next.
  19. Very nice! Always glad to hear a great start from some new blood. Keep it up!
  20. Great first contribution, my friend. Very promising indeed. But don't worry. We're not going to set our expectations of you ridiculously high now because of this. Right guys? ...... I said right guys!? ...... Eh. Awesome stuff. I love John Williams and I without a doubt hear his influence in the low strings at the beginning and end. This is really nice work. We don't get much symphonic sound around here that's this good. Kudos to you friend. May you future artistic endevors be met with the same apraisal.
  21. Awesome! I already put my name on the waiting list. Is there anywhere else we can buy "Phasma Elementum"? The site says it's no longer available.
  22. Love it! I caught word of this project back when they were still looking for artists. (If I were good enough, I SO would've jumped on this!) The first two tracks perfectly capture the classic arcade feel of the game. As soon as I heard those guitar riffs, I was taken back to those days of challenging complete strangers at a Pizza Hut. Ahh. Good times. While Joshua Morse and Richter's "Wallstreet Monster" wasn't what I'd expect for Blanka, it's still really good. It's very mellow, but it's actually very reflective of Blanka's character after the series. Tamed and adjusted to society but there's still an echo of the beast within. "I Don't Fight Boys" is great! Red Tailed Fox and Malcos made a refreshing take on the theme. They kept the original melody but incorporated a completely different baseline. I love the piano and organ solos and all the other elements that made Chun Li "jazztastic". (I don't care how gay that sounds.) Oh yes! Definitley one of my faves! Vurez's "New Mexican Thunderbird" is one of the best on the whole album. The instrumentation and style are perfect! The guitars, the brass, the strings, even the whistles and chants! Hot damn! This track transported me and filled my head with images from "Tombstone", "Silverado", and the Alamo. (The place, not the movie. That thing was a piece of shit.) OCR's first remix of T. Hawk's theme is going to be impossible to beat! Thank you Jose. How else can you make a remix that's a tribute to Dee Jay? Rap, stupid! I must say, you could not have picked a better was to convey the character's essence. Not bad for one of the sites first rasta style mixes. In a word, iree mon! (Sorry. Two words.) "Tokyo Slapdown" is mostly just the original theme and a heavy baseline, but I like that minimalistic approach. After all, they say genius is in simplicity. I think the heavy base reflects our character very well. By the way V, what's he saying at 2:25? Like "New Mexican Thunderbird", the instrumentation of "Reaching for Nirudha" is a perfect representation for Dhalsim. Along with the sitar, all the other classic Indian sounds are in here. But they're not overplayed or overdone until it's unbearable and just sounds like noise. I love the non-deterrent keychange too. Nice job Malcos! Ehhhh. This is the only character theme that truely disappointed me. And I think the title's trying to compensate. The baseline and the synth are good, but what's up with the main melody being played by flutes? Did Guile visit Hobbiton or something? It's just not at all what I was expecting for the great Major. And only at 2:18 does the real army muscle I was waiting for come in. When listening, I literally screamed, "That's what I'm talkin' about!" But it's just some little solo that lasts less than a minute! Guile might be an army of one, but this time, he wasn't all that he could be. (Again, I don't care how gay that sounds.) One more thing. Would someone please explain to me that little 8-bit diddy at the very end? "It's like a jungle sometimes!" It certainly is. Oh man. As soon as that ritalin-due snare kicked in on "Communist Jungle", I was reminded of the classic Toonami themes by Joe Vigil. Good times. Nice work, nesper. And I actually like the distorted flourish at the end. Aw hells yeah! Another one of my faves! From his earlier contributions, I expected zircon to rock my socks and blast me to the back of my room. Zircon, you did not disappoint. You delivered in spades! Never has Fei Long rocked so hard. I love that beautiful breakdown at 1:36. When that came on, my mind instantly recalled images from "Memoirs of a Geisha". Yes, I know Fei Long's Chinese! This truley is a "Flying Heaven." Listen. Can you hear it? There's somethin' funky goin' on here. Cammy always had one of my favorite themes. Once again, love the piano solos. Love the distorted synth during the main theme as well. Very psychadelic. Heck! I love everything about this track! Woo! Shake that ass, Cammy! Sixto Sound's "Made in USA." Two words: wicked sick! That's all I can say! This is what "Guile's Mile Long Dong" was missing! Just one complaint though. You faded out! Never fade out on something that rocks that hard! It should've had a boom ending. One final "POW" on the guitar. Other than that, kick ass. Rock on, Mr. Masters! "Overdrive" indeed. I got no complaints. This does rock hard and solid, but there's something about it. I can't quite put my finger on it, but at some point I was tempted to yell out "Go Speed Racer!" Great job guys! Go Ryu, go! "Mecenary Boxing". I love the title alone. I like how it goes from the piano and brass to a darker electronic sound. It's like night has fallen and Balrog's hidden agenda becomes revealed. The choir is an awesome touch too. Very nice. Someone said they didn't like "Spittin' Narcissism" cuz it was more hip-hop instead of latin. But I like it! Sure, for Vega, the style and the genre fit like a square peg into a round hole. But the lyrics are perfect. Jose, you did an awesome job of bringing Vega's voice to rap. "Urban Uppercut" is really good. That's all I'm gonna say about it. Not that I don't like it, it's just that besides that it's two different takes on the theme, nothing really stands out. And they do get kinda repetitive. I can so see "Tribute to the Master" in a movie soundtrack. Great symphonic sound with a some eletronic elements dashed in for ornimentation. Good work. Everything about "Murder Instinct" says bad-ass. Especially the teeth rattling base. One listen, and you can tell this is for the big boss. Props to Eternal Testament. Nice. The last five tracks I'm not even going to mention. In my opinion, none of them really need to be there at all. The "Blood on the Asphalt" songs sound really trite and I just plain didn't like the last two. The "16-bit-esque" electronic element was way overdone. Malcos's "Home At Last" is OK. It's just too short to really bring attention to. At most it's just an extension of the previous character theme. But despite these shortcommings, I'd say the main body of the album more than compensates. Overall, this is a kick ass project and I'm so glad it's finally up. Great job to all of you who worked on it. I'm gonna go listen to "Flying Heaven" for the 15th time now.
  23. Hey, I noticed that Felicia from Darkstalkers isn't on the mascot list. I thought for sure I'd seen her in that corner before. If you just forgot to list her, I'd be honored to write her bio. If it's just my imagination and she never was a mascot,... well, just ignore me then.
  24. Woof! Two words: KICK ASS. Love the strings at the begining and the fake ending at 3:34. If I could classify the genre, I'd slide it under "industrialectronic". Sugoi. Daisuki. I'm lurvin' it.
  25. OK, I feel like an idiot now. I asked where the lyrics are and they're RIGHT THERE below the forum link. (knock's on their head) *donk!* xp Er.... thanks for pointing that out, Mike. L8R!
