  1. As promised, I have moved the ClanOCR database to a NEW and BETTER host. Please update your links. Also, the full restore is complete. 1111mb's mysql server came up at 8pm so I was able to snag ALL of the information off of it. Let me know of any problems with the new server. Edit: This host let me down. Current location is http://ocr.anticlan.net/index.php
  2. Try boostballing into Ridley's foot during its first phase. And wavebustering it the second phase.
  3. It took me about 5 tries for that sucker. The main problem I had was that you got less energy powerups as the fight wore on, as the pillars had already been destroyed and those ing things that shot stuff at you didn't give much. It wasn't terribly hard for me to avoid the boosts, you could just space jump over it a lot of the time. I think the hardest part was how you had to get him into a damageable state and it's a waiting game with time against you as you rot away in Dark Aether. And for those curious, m2k2 has utterly trivialized this fight. Whoa.
  4. Major props. Your music is amazing. It always had that *great* Konami-style feel to it, and the fact that you're getting noticed, appreciated, and hired to compose music for Contra 4 is pure awesome. I am so looking forward to this game. Planned September release? Noted. Let's get this info wiki'd.
  5. The site providing me and my database with hosting - http://www.1111mb.com - went down again today. I have a week-old full backup of the database though - I'm moving it over to another host today, and getting the current database moved over as soon as 1111mb comes back up. 1111mb just lost any shred of credibility they had left. 2 days of unexplained downtime, fine. I can cope, perhaps there was some hardware issue. It happening again after a couple weeks? You gotta be kidding me. I'm at work atm and my backup is at home, so I can't put the database back up until about 6pm eastern today. Over my lunch break I'm going to look for other hosts. My requirements are: -Free -PHP -MySQL -PHPMyAdmin -No Ads -Fast -99+% uptime -Don't care about bandwidth limits as my database website only has those icons (and my sig) as images. There are about 5 hosts that provide that. I'll try one of them out and hope they don't screw up their uptime like 1111mb did.
  6. This game is gonna rock. It's GONNA rock!
  7. Just saw ep36. This is getting intense. Can't wait for the finale. I didn't read the manga or anything, but I have a prediction for what's gonna happen on the finale. Spoilertagging it for those who haven't gotten close to the end. *My prediction is .. Mikami kills all the investigators. Light "wins" but his perfect world isn't so perfect. With no one left to oppose Light, the Shinigami kill him.* Looking forward to ep37, the finale, which aired in Japan today.
  8. Interesting that you say that. I'm tall but the first thing I noticed when I played PIU is how big the pad was. Mathematically, with the steps in the corners you need to move sqrt(2)x the distance. I think a smaller pad would help this game a lot.
  9. Nostalgia has a lot to do with it. Sure, the SNES has a much better sound chip than the genesis, but I grew up with the Genesis version in all its FM glory and the SNES sounds seem odd to me. Extra modes are nice, and 6 face buttons fits the 6 attacks SF2 gave the player extremely well. Of course, the controller is irrelevant on the Wii. There's something about the FM music on the Genesis that has a distinctive sound. The SNES can produce some great music (and Capcom proved this themselves with Mega Man X, for example) but I didn't like how they did it for Street Fighter for SNES. But mostly it's nostalgia.
  10. The Boost Guardian was the one in a small room that behaved like a warrior Ing, then oozed around, then boosted around. There were no light crystals. It was either in Dark Agon or Dark Torvus, I forget. The Spider Guardian is the one on the spiderball tracks. You had to fight it in morphball and bomb switches that made it run into stuff that shocked it. Pain in the ass but didn't give me that much trouble. It was in Sanctuary Fortress/Hive.
  11. Highlight for the puzzle *The first puzzle is to write down the number of trees on the island.* Highlight for the solution *Write a 7 with the touch screen.* But you're gonna need help like that every step of the way if you don't get the text. Forget it until there's at least a minimal fan translation. If you've got your heart set on going further, highlight for more solutions, but this is all you're gonna get. *Say hello into the mic in the house. English "Hello" works* *You need to mark the map with the locations of the fires to open the door.* I'm sure GameFAQs will have all the spoilers required to get a decent amount into the game by now.
  12. Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is AWESOME. But you CANNOT play it without a good knowledge of Japanese. Way too much depends on the text to wing it. It's a good thing I have a fluent friend I can spend weekends with.
  13. WW link would be pretty cool. I really like how his eyes were drawn. Also, Phantom Hourglass Link is the exact same style, so it's definitely a possibility, though nothing has been announced about this style of Link's appearance in brawl.
  14. http://realitylapse.com/videos/death-note.php You don't even need to P2P or use the lowass quality YouTube to get eps.
  15. I played Pump It Up over the weekend. It's an interesting take on the DDR style of games. The game and pad have 5 places to step, one in every corner and one in the center. On top of that, the game's selection is very cool, including an album of remixed classical songs.
  16. Heh, Kusabi is a friend of mine. He's not even a member of the OCR forums (yet). He's folding at a ridiculous rate with 2 PS3s, a Powermac G5, at least one ATi GPU, and a few other computers all folding pretty much all the time. Beats my quad core beast pretty badly, but we're all on the same team here Think I'll sneak F@H onto my work computer
  17. I didn't have much trouble with it. MP2 bosses as a whole weren't terribly hard, just tedious. Chykka and Quadraxis were both more annoying for me. Emperor Ing was pretty easy for me though, took 2 tries. The MP2 boss that gave me THE most trouble though, was Boost Guardian
  18. I wonder why they didn't choose Super Street Fighter II instead - It was the better game, though I preferred the Genesis version of it.
  19. It would be interesting if Zelda could use the sword she had in the cinematic in Twilight Princess.
  20. Look at what the other characters are doing. Fox is teetering on the edge of the platform like an idiot, Samus looks to be recovering from an attempted grapple beam grab, Kirby is falling. None of them could have hit Wario the last second or two. I do believe Wario is doing an aerial attack, a body slam.
  21. The presence or lack of On-Rails levels was not what made SF64 a spectacular game and Assault a lackluster one. SF64 had quite a bit of All Range Mode, and Assault had a decent amount of on-rails missions. What ruined Assault was the story, voice acting, characterization, and controls. It had the look (to an extent) but not the spirit of a Star Fox game.
  22. Fox, Wario, Samus, Kirby = 4 players.
  23. <obligatory></obligatory>
  24. What's wrong with an AO game that's clearly marked as such? Bad laws do not fix bad parenting.
  25. Of the people who have expressed interest, could you bold the ones who have sent in pokémon lists? I fear the list of participants may be a lot shorter than the first post makes it seem.
