  1. More like 6. Super Mario RPG Paper Mario Paper Mario TTYD Super Paper Mario (debatable, but RPG doesn't necessarily imply turn-based) Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga Mario & Luigi Partners in Time
  2. The reason I asked was because Fox's blaster is a zero knockback move. I don't think other zero-knockback effects like Lip's Stick flowers stole KOs in Melee.
  3. Nope. Computer Science major at Georgia Tech. I love music, but I don't like the way it's institutionalized. Music remains a hobby for me.
  4. Did Fox's blaster steal KO credit in Melee? Never had anyone use that strat against me. EDIT: Looks like Zero Suit Samus will shoot in addition to that melee beam we saw in the E3 video. Perhaps we will see the stun pistol used in Metroid ZM.
  5. I believe the term you (and possibly Retro) were looking for is hectocycle. This would make U-Mos 215 cycles old. Still very young if cycles = months (18 years) and pitifully so if cycles = weeks or days lol. No idea about Luminoth lifespans, but years or multiple months are looking a lot more likely.
  6. Failure. Centi = hundredth. Kilo = Thousand. Is 2.15 centimeters (one inch...) = 2150 meters?! This makes me lean toward a much longer cycle time period than I thought previously.
  7. Now, it's pretty ambiguous but I don't think cycles refer to days OR years, but somewhere in between. Consider the Luminoth corpse scans in Prime 2. Years seem unlikely. Do you think corpses wouldn't decay over more than a dozen years? Do you think that the Luminoth could hold off the Ing from completely destroying them for that long, given the state of the world and the lore in Prime 2? Days seem unlikely. Do you think Torvus, Agon, the Sanctuary, most of Temple Grounds, and the humans could all fall to the Ing within a fortnight? Are some of the corpses you scan that read something like "died 0.6 cycles ago" really only a couple hours old? It does seem that Samus arrived in the nick of time, within days of the most recent conflict, but by the time you get to U-Mos, all is said and done and all the surviving Luminoth have been sealed. My thoughts? One cycle should equate to a week or two. Between one and 3 months sounds about right for the conquest of Aether. Most recent corpse being a few days old seems to fit the best.
  8. As in, a video? Not possible, too much processor time and memory would be consumed into encoding and storing it. Unless it just stores controller input and any other nondeterministic info, that is. Then it COULD work, but is still unlikely imo.
  9. There's a significant difference between midi and module. Conversion from a module file to a midi file isn't trivial.
  10. It looks like you're logged in as a different user. Go to control panel, users, and see what the valid logins are. Log off, then try logging in to each of them. One of them should have all your stuff on it, including the application that starts your wireless.
  11. Link to the Past Hyrule Castle, by a longshot (lol longshot).
  12. Imo it should be interruptible, but for something like Link's the interrupting blow would have to be from someone other than the guy stuck in it. Also we don't know about the item that activates it. It could be that their next forward smash becomes a final smash. KOing them before they do one could be considered an "interrupt" perhaps.
  13. I don't think it will stop the flow. Too much is going on in a 4 player fighter to do that, for the reasons you described above. For a 1v1 fighter it works, but I think they're just making it dominate the camera because either 1) The camera is only set to be as wide as it needs to be and these are the only players active or 2) They hardwired it to do that to show more detail on the screenshots and trailer.
  14. Ok, I finally beat it. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes YES Everyone needs to play Metroid Prime. Everyone who enjoyed it - and this should be the VAST majority - should play Prime 2. So many folks say it's not as good as the original. I don't object to this attitude, but it's still well above average and an excellent Gamecube game that no Metroid fan should be without. The bosses were very interesting and diverse. "Fun" weapons that usually go never get used on bosses, see a lot of use in this game. I thought the Seeker Missiles, for example, would just be a gimmick weapon to open certain colored doors, but when it helped tremendously in a boss fight (Chykka) I was pleasantly surprised. The parallel worlds give you vast territory, more than Prime 1, and the game is a bit longer and harder than Prime 1 as well - It took me 19:03 to conquer with 76% items and no FAQs, well above my 16:48 68% for my first stab at Prime 1. While the Ing don't provide the same classic story as the Space Pirates, it's an interesting game in its own right. The visors you get weren't expected, but the beams were a bit of a rehash. At first I didn't like the idea of beams having ammo, but it adds an element, especially as you get the opposite ammo as the beam you're using, adding some elements of strategy. A lot of enemies went beyond the lock on and shoot mechanism. You have sheegoth equivilents you have to shoot in the back, you have bloggs you have to wait until it's about to hit you, you have the robots you have to boost into, numerous Ing forms. There are more kinds of enemies, and if I'm not mistaken, many more bosses in Prime 2 than there was in the original. It's a nice twist on the same game engine and basic theme put forth by Prime, and makes for an excellent game. Looking at some of the other entries that made the list, I don't see a reason to deny this very solid game a spot on the list.
  15. Configure CUPS once and it's seamless?More on topic, I agree that the Windows prices nowadays are outrageous. Even shopping around it's difficult to get xp professional for less than $230 or so.
  16. A few ideas: -That OMG HUEG beam she fired in the E3 trailer -a power bomb -5x seeker missile -Some missile combo. Super missile maybe -I like the idea of her Gunship coming, but have we ever seen it shoot in any of the games though?
  17. From a purely physics point of view, it would be better to look at the collision from a force point of view than a momentum one. Say Bowser gets smacked and is falling down and to the left at a perfect 45 degree angle at a crate. If bowser's mass * |velocity| > the force it takes to break a box, the box should simply break, and the items should fall out in the direction of Bowser's pre-collision motion and with the total force of (Bowser's mass * |bowser's initial velocity|) - force to break the box. If the force of the impact is NOT enough to break the box, should it move, and how much? You have to take into account the forces at hand. The downward force of Bowser's motion will not push the crate anywhere - indeed, it will increase the friction's force by increasing the crate's normal force. Assuming an inelastic collision (which is a big assumption, but elasticity isn't what I'm worried about here) Bowser would be stopped by the collision and transfer all the force into the crate. So the forces on the crate would be: (Bowser's mass * |bowser's initial velocity|) \ sqrt(2) in the down and left directions. The frictional force would be Coefficient of Friction between the box and surface * [(Mass of crate * acceleration due to gravity) + (Bowser's mass * |Bowser's initial velocity| \ sqrt(2))] And the force of motion in the left direction would be (Bowser's mass * |bowser's initial velocity|) \ sqrt(2) For a wooden box on a somewhat rough metal surface, the coefficient of friction should be around 0.3 Assuming that the crate has much less mass than Bowser, the impact should send it flying, despite a large frictional force.
  18. Costumes changing skin (models) in addition to color (texture) is natural. I'd be surprised if it weren't going to be in Brawl. After all, Wario's headgear differs significantly between his Yellow/purple outfit and his WarioWare outfit. Even the sliding crates have skins.
  19. WTF people, isn't Zero Suit's tight fit revealing enough? This is Smash Bros, not Dead or Alive.
  20. And as far as getting the installers: http://oldversion.com/program.php?n=itunes
  21. I predict that there's an adventure mode Metroid stage that involves a Ridley fight. Or some random Metroid themed map that has this in the background. I don't think Ridley will be playable, that would be lol.
  22. Your best post ever. This looks tight. AND kills the sidebar. Awesome.
  23. It's a pain. There are a few ways to beat it though. Here are some facts: -Aura Sphere and Aerial Ace cannot miss, despite evasiveness. Shock wave also cannot miss but quagsire is ground type. Use one of these moves on a turn it's not protecting. I pack one of these on all my teams because of stallers like this. -That Quagsire's moves, aside from protect and double team, are Dig and Sandstorm. Skarmory, Aerodactyl, and Gliscor are immune to both if you have one, and can learn Aerial Ace too. Anything flying or levitating only needs to worry about sandstorm, any rock, ground, steel just needs to worry about dig. Levitating Bronzong also works. And solrock/lunatone. lol -If you absolutely have no recourse, and have a lot of time to kill, switch pokemon every turn and let it run out of PP, and it will kill itself with struggle. -The first couple of Double teams are the most effective. For a move that does not normally miss, the accuracy goes as follows after double teams: 67% 50% 40% 33% 29% 25% "Quagsire's evasiveness won't go any higher!" This means kill it quick. Since Quagsire is the FIRST pokemon Bertha uses, have your counter for it come out first as well.
  24. I'm an expert on flashcarts. Ask ANYONE in ClanOCR Do you have a DS, or just a GBA? My recommendation hinges upon your response.
  25. I'm playing through it right now. As you can see from my previous votes I'm pretty tough to get a YES out of, though I'm undecided until I beat it, but I don't think that will be long from now - I finally have the power bombs Expect a vote soon.
