Now I'm getting interested. Is there a "Canyon Oasis" map? Anyone who's played JK1 will know all about this water physics defying built-in map that was so overused online that it's a complete classic (for those who HAVEN'T played JK .. Me playing JK without a Canyon Oasis map is like a Counterstrike player who can't play de_dust2). I can accept the lack of a concussion rifle if there's a similar enough boom gun like the Rail (JK Rail is completely different from Quake Rail). Boom. Though At first I may want to play NF ("No Force") games, it has been years since I've played JK.

Sonic Adventure 1&2 & Sonic Gems Collection on PS2 Petition
Drack replied to SpiDoL's topic in General Discussion
Sure, if GC could get some PS2/XBOX games that didn't quite go all the way cross platform. -
Saying pop music "sucks" is just an immature way of showing your tastes are not considered "normal" I dislike most of what's popular. But it does not "suck" simply because it is popular. Counterculture just for the sake of being counterculture is idiocy.

That is a Tetris Attack clone, right? And online? If it integrates the touch as well as Meteos did, I can see this becoming quite popular. I've added it to the ClanOCR database in my sig.

Planet Puzzle League support added to database. Edit: Icon up, everything works -
I've played about 5 mixes worth of those. There are like 4 Bloody Tears remixes in there and they all have terrible steps (not syncing, etc). There are some gems in there though, But I've played em all to hell and back and am looking for other sources

I'm a modder. No, you can't add RAM to a Wii, or change the hardware much. Even if you could, the Wii browser KNOWS how much ram the Wii has, it doesn't just fill up what's available. Don't think of the Wii as a computer, the hardware is FIXED, so even if you did change it and it somehow worked, you'd realize no benefit. Also, homebrew on the Wii is still limited to the homebrew that ran on the Gamecube. You can run emulators and such, but not much else. There is DVD homebrew available, I believe, though I haven't tried it. It requires a somewhat elaborate GC-Linux setup where you network it to a computer using the ethernet adapter addon and use the computer's hard drive to store the linux OS and software, as you can't use the DVD drive for that when you want to play a DVD. Oh, and you'd need to casemod a GC to fit full size DVDs. All in all, hacking media player stuff to a Wii or GC is not worth it. 360 and PS3 do it out of the box. Once *True* Wii homebrew software is able to be hacked onto the console, when an exploit is found, then we can get things rolling. You have an SD slot or 512MB of flash to store software on (Or even use as psuedo RAM through a system that works like Windows Vista's ReadyBoost), a fullsize DVD slot which could read movies (with appropriate player homebrew) or perhaps play all that anime you're sure to have in some weird codec. I see great possibilities. But current wii mods only allow for GC homebrew so thats a ways off yet. Web browsing with long youtube vids? Probably never.

Are there many OCRemixes with stepfiles for StepMania available?

If this game is as good as Jedi Knight (1): Dark Forces II, I may be interested. Has anyone played both and can shed light on this? Do they still have a Concussion Rifle?

The mental image of surfing on top of a pikachu is disturbing. I guess Pika has to carry around and share a surf board to make this possible.

I have noticed some unstable behavior since the 2.0.0.4 upgrade as well. Mozilla needs better beta testing before pushing this update automatically to all users. I may have to downgrade and turn auto update off because of this. I think that will fix your problem.

Jump Ultimate Stars added to the database. Edit: Icon up, everything works If ever you want a game added, let me know. It takes like 5 minutes to do, aside from the icon. -
Twilight Princess is being voted on? Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - YES! Intricate dungeons, new story, you get to be a WOLF, classic gameplay, OoT reminiscent style, great characterization, massive world. This is a masterpiece. It's not perfect, but it's fantastic. Definitely a must have. I'll have a Metroid Prime 2 vote to add soon, I'm playing through it this weekend. Currently undecided.

http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20070530-what-lurks-below-microsofts-surface-a-qa-with-microsoft.html Whoa, some interesting information there: -It's *NOT* a touch sceeen, it uses 5 "near-infrared" CAMERAS. -Most of the hardware is consumer-grade by today's standards -lol

Lazy Arek. http://drack.1111mb.com/browse.php?game=Wii+Console just64helpin 3150-6979-6178-7146 And on a related note. The database was intended to replace the forum post. Does the first post still need to be maintained? If so, you may want to import the codes from the db If not, why is it there? -
Team OverClocked ReMix - Folding@Home

The SMP version didn't work for me. On my quad core I just installed the regular version in 4 different directories and gave them unique machine IDs in the config files. Since they aren't threaded each one gets a core, so using 4 of them maxes the cpu of the entire system. -
Ergonomics, that's an interesting argument. I find it much more comfortable to type on a flat surface and look at a vertical one. Bending over to see the screen is not very effective. Perhaps some sort of dual screen setup where the bottom screen is the touch screen and the top screen would be a more traditional, vertical screen that's just used for output. A giant Nintendo DS.

Flashcarts don't allow savestates for DS games. Off topic, I know, but the only "savestate module" would be an emulator. Unless you count downloading a SAVE (as opposed to a save STATE). As for Mario Kart DS. I'm going to say NO on this one. The AI is too annoying, the mechanics are way too focused around mini turbos and ultimately "snaking" the online has died and gone to hell (Only noobs and leets online, nothing in between), no online battle mode, only some tracks available online unless you hack it like I did (requires flashcart), cars are completely unbalanced (Only yoshi, drybones, SOMETIMES luigi, and similar cars are ever used competitively), items are unbalanced (CPUs get blue shells WAAAY too frequently)

Obviously you don't know me very well. I'm not lacking in bandwidth in the least. Color me old-fashioned, but a site requiring flash, and quite honestly flash itself, is "made of fail" for several reasons. -The fact that flash is by definition animated. It's a distraction from any textual content. On websites, animation should be used sparingly if at all. -Nonstandard navigation interface. I yearn for the good old underlined hyperlink to navigate through a website. -Obstruction of content. Ever try to get an mp3 out of a flash interface? Not even "view HTML source" will let you get at it. Ability to watch/listen but not save is an abomination. -Not work friendly. Textual web page surfing at work is a guilty pleasure many netizens indulge in. Flash destroys any illusion of productivity to overlooking bosses. -System resources. I'd like a webpage to minimize the strain put on my hardware, not maximize it, my computer's VERY fast speed is no excuse for inefficient software design. On topic, I've read about Microsoft's "Surface" in the newspaper. I don't think it will be able to do all it claims to. The touch screen technology it depends on isn't advanced enough to differentiate what's being placed on the surface to a fine enough degree. The touch screen interface proves to be cumbersome for a lot of tasks. While it's well suited to some functions, it's highly impractical for others. Having played many, MANY DS games, and having used a tablet PC with a light pen, I feel I'm qualified to make such a claim. There are just some things that are annoying to do with a touch screen, and I don't see Microsoft's surface having a keyboard and mouse hooked up to it as it would totally defeat the purpose. It's interesting to see that Microsoft is branching out and thinking up new and interesting ideas, but I don't think this "surface" will be practical for anything, given its cost. It will be a cool gadget, though, but I don't think that's what Microsoft was aiming for.

Site requires flash and is therefore made of fail.

Pokémon Diamond/Pearl *FRIEND CODES IN CLANOCR THREAD*
Drack replied to The Damned's topic in General Discussion
Nice! I've been playing through Emerald so I can get the ones you can't get on D/P alone. It may take a while because I only have about 270 of the 493 now, heh -
ClanOCR: DS/Wii Friendcode Database

I'm not trying to rain on your parade, honestly. If this takes off I'd like to see how it turns out. As far as themes go, by far the most flexible is Dragon. You have "Dragon-like" Pokémon with completely different typing like Gyarados or Charizard that could easily fit into the theme, plus diversity between dragons (Salamence and Garchomp can be played very differently ... they and Dragonite get some interesting and diverse movesets). Would Legendaries be allowed? Rayquaza would finish off the dragon set for a pretty godlike team. There are so many psychic legendaries that even under strict typing requirements a psychic team could be powerful. Cresselia, Mewtwo, Jirachi are played completely differently, and Mew is unpredictible. All but Jirachi share a dark weakness, to counter some pretty amazing stats. I think this can be very cool, depending on where you go with it. -

A few things: -With that stringent a type constraint, a challenger can just use weakness to trivialize the challenge. -Would a challenger have to use the same team against all the gym leaders? -If so, would a challenger becoming a leader have to use the team he used to beat them? As in, do the challenger teams have to follow the same conventions as the leaders? -Flint's team had 3 of his 5 pokémon not have fire type at all - Lopunny, Drifblim, Steelix though they did have one fire move apiece. Cynthia's team was totally mixed. -
Do you want us to talk about it here instead of in the ClanOCR thread? Might wanna move the rules and have a moderator move the posts here then...
