Guitar Hero: World Tour Song Creation Demo Video
Malaki-LEGEND.sys replied to Murmeli Walan's topic in General Discussion
Maybe because I actually play drums IRL... I never said RB2 sucked, I said I preferred GH: WT. The burden of proof isn't on me. A) I've always preferred my GH guitars over Rockband's, and I'm sure Red Octane is gonna make a good set of drums. I'm actually pretty interested in the song creation option. C) I like the songset in GH. I guess the real thing is gonna be to see whether or not Activision puts out an insane amount of DLC support for GH4(and I'm somewhat afraid that the song creation mode is gonna be a copout for that). So far all Rockband 2 has managed to show me is a new songset and somewhat better instruments. Tell me why Rockband 2 is the better of the two. -

for a GAME, the creation mode is pretty good. Also, $300 for just the drum set that I know I'll be wanting later down the road? No. I've always preferred the GH instruments anyway. The RB guitar drives me batshit. The drums are nice, but I trust Red Octane can make better ones. Also yeah I saw the songset, and I like it. -

Oh I wasn't responding to your post. I was just saying that the actual Rockband 2 instruments leave much to be desired IMO compared to the GH: World Tour stuff, and since I never actually grabbed the RB bundle the first time around, I'm gonna stick with GH and just grab a used copy of Rockband 1. If all the upcoming DLC will still work with RB1, then there's no point in upgrading. My verdict? Guitar hero: World Tour wins. -

GH World Tour has the better default drum set. That deluxe RB2 set? Yeah, $300, and it's clunky and heavy as shit apparently. -

I'm actually very impressed with this song creation mode, and I know I'll be picking this up as opposed to the Rockband 2 bundle. I might still pick up a stand alone copy of RB2 along with renting RB1 to transfer all the songs, just cause I love the library of songs up as DLC for it, but I'm going back to Guitar Hero now. -
Crystal Sword? If you mean Ragnarok, then I totally missed it. It was half because I forgot where I was and half I just wanted to get through the final boss since I was at lvl.70. As for taking down Zeromus(which is apparently pronounced Ze-RO-mus), I just had Edge throw EVERYTHING, Rydia hasted and casting Bahamut, Rosa slowing him down, and on standby heal, Kain was in the air at all times, and Cecil used focus and attacked every other turn. The real trick was knowing when he was going to use big bang, which pretty much kills your party. The trick is that he always rumbles before using it, so right then, cease and desist your assault and start defending pronto, or you're gone. At one point in the battle he uses Meteor, which is a clear sign that he's about to bite it. I don't think anyone other than Rosa(high SPR) and Kain(in air) survived that blast.

Microsoft is fixing that in an update coming soon, so the 360 will be able to output 1080p just fine in 16:10.

Berserk and slow the fuckers, then wail on 'em. The thing about that is that since I considered support magic all but irrelevant in the original FFIV, I never even thought to use 'em 'til yesterday. I was stuck in the final dungeon for about a week because of that, but last night I beat the game and it was worth it. I just wish they had mixed up the ending a bit. Got the limit break augment and I'm probably going to start another playthrough this week

I have but one thing to say: Fuck Zeromus. That is all.
-
Give him the protect ring. That'll lower the magic damage considerably.

if I could find a decent monitor size as opposed to a 32 HD set to save some green, that's what I'd go for.

I thought that Twilight Princess was great, but I'm a bigger fan of the side story-esque Zelda games like Majora's Mask, the Oracle games, and Link's Awakening. I'd like to see another Zelda game unrelated to the Link, Zelda, Gannon story. I don't think any Zelda game has given me that same eerie, ethnic, somewhat dissonant feel the way Majora's Mask did.

The dungeon's in all the Zelda games before Link's Awakening all had the same music and it never bugged me. Yeah you wanna talk about an awesome Zelda game, you've gotta mention the Gameboy Zeldas. I like the ideas the guy came up with. In terms of sword combat though, I don't think total freedom is the way to go as that could just lead to more awkward waggling. What they should do is build a certain amount of sword strikes(horizontal, vertical, etc.) as well as parrying and blocking mechanics. I think a key thing to do would make sure that the controls for each weapon or item be significantly different from one another so that they're all mostly engaging and fun to use for the player. I love his idea for the hookshot as well. Since we both came up with some similar ideas, I'm sure that someone at Nintendo must be thinking along the same lines, and might be doing all this. If anything though, Nintendo really has to give it to Square for bringing back my confidence in the Wii and the DS by creating a little game called The World Ends With You that manages to use almost every feature on the DS to make an explosion of awesome in game form. I believe that Nintendo can do the same for the Wii, and I'm just waiting to see it happen.

I do however, and this was my biggest gripe with Wind Waker other than poor overworld design and sailing that didn't have enough going for it. Someone said that they scrapped two dungeons from the final game earlier in the thread. Last I heard, it was more around four or six. That kind of annoyed me since I thought Wind Waker was a pretty solid game even with my complaints. What I wanna see in a new Zelda game? Expanded use of the 1:1 Wii Motion+ attachment. Imagine if you would the potential for the Hero's Bow. Hold down the trigger button on the Wiimote while pulling it back from the nunchuck, then releasing the trigger and hear a "thwip!" from the little speaker and based on distance from the nunchuck, the arrow would fly farther or nearer. Wanna move around while targeting? Just move the analogue stick on the nunchuck. Sword combat? Imagine being surrounded on all sides by about 7 or 8 moblins. One behind you decides to go in for an easy swipe. You anticipate this and fling your wiimote behind your back and parry his attack, one of the others from the frontside sees your sword hand is occupied, the nunchuck handles the shield and you give him a quick shield bashing straight to the face. back to the one behind you, you spin around with the analogue stick and thrust the wiimote, which thrusts right into his chest. Stuff like that. Riding Epona would be awesome, as you could use two control schemes for movement, either handling her with the wiimote like the reins of an actual horse and pulling back to stop, pressing the trigger to boost, etc. When using a weapon on horseback, it switches to analogue mode so you have complete control(or at least moderate) over her movement while using a sword or bow. Whoo... Got a bit off-topic there, but seriously, if Nintendo did even HALF of this shit or shit like it, I'd be all over the Wii. Since they developed the Wii M+ and thus knew about it, they could totally do it.

Trust me, it's even more annoying when you're competing in a tournament. And Olympic Taekwondo is still easier than a regular tournament that's done by belt level range as opposed to weight class. Being 150 lbs. and 5'10 and having to fight a big dude who's at least 250 lbs. and is about 6'5? Yeah that's no fun.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed demo on Live and PSN

Wasn't this assuming that all exterior factors such as air resistance were removed from the equation and both objects were in freefall? -
Funny thing is that I made it through those behemoths with relative ease, but once I got to Bahamut and saw the timer counting down that bloody fast, I proceeded to do what I always did when facing off Bahamut in FFIV: I reflected everyone at lightning speed. It just turns out that doesn't work as well... It was the equivalent of a sucker punch.

I hope you saved that fuma shuriken, because taking down that attacker in less than 4 hits with slow in the first 15 seconds is crucial.

This post is a god damned wellspring of helpful information.

Well that's cool with me since I never really got around to hacking it and I'm still enjoying my system. I'm sure the hacking community will find a way. If they can't and still bitch about being stuck with their fats, well nobody's stopping them from upgrading. If they're still bitching about it, well you can't have your cake and eat it too.

I don't really think games would need to use it beyond menu interface. I mean we're not dealing with a dual-screen system like the DS here. It would just make the PSP more iPhone-like.
-
Yeah, so I was fighting Bahamut, thinking that I could reflect as usual and hit him back with his own stuff. I should have known SE would have changed that...
-
Maybe it's possible that they have the touch-screen technology on the system, although it isn't quite ready yet and would be released for use on a later firmware update. I also thought the mic was just a rumor.

Or, we could see the stories of Ulic Qeldroma and the great Sith Wars
