Quiet, you! No arguing! Yeah well my TV back home is a TV from like '95. I'd be fine with just upgrading to a 480p set for component as the picture is still pretty, but I'd might as well upgrade to HD.

It's too long for me to watch the whole thing because I immediately got the gist of what you're trying to say here. You think I'm trying to bash the PS3 out of some sort of fanboyism. This could not be further from the truth, and you are ignorant for thinking this. Notice how I didn't say anything about sales of the PS3. Number of sales are irrelevant when a company wants to make more money. Yeah, MGS4 might have sold fine on the PS3(from what I heard, it hadn't but maybe that info's wrong. I don't care either way), but if Konami says we want to tap into the potentially HUEG MGS audience on the 360, well then that's that, isn't it? Hell, when I bought my 360 I took a huge risk, but I wanted to play Halo 3, Dead or Alive 4 and Ninja Gaiden 2. I also wanted to play FFXIII and KH3, but the PS3's initial 500 price tag was too much for me, so I made a choice, and even though I risked big buying a system I thought I'd use minutely, I haven''t looked back since. I'm loving the hell out of it and FFXIII coming to the 360 proves 2 things. Good things come to those who wait and game publishers are quite fickle. If the PS3 manages to put out stuff I like and gives me another price cut, then I'll eat it up. As is, LBP interests me quite a bit. Quit being dumb. Also Tekken 6 isn't an exclusive anymore. Edit: Wow I actually went back to watch the video again... Most of its points are now rendered post-2008 irrelevant.

This says differently. Although yes, it's time to upgrade to an HD set, people!

So I've finally finished Infinite Undiscoevry and wow what a ride it was. Loved it from beginning to end. Let's get into it, shall we? For starters, it's a Tri-Ace game so that should give you an idea of its pedigree. The plot is rather unique(at least to me) in the sense that it doesn't really on the same elemental schtick like so many other JRPGs tend to do. The characters are all very likable and believable, and I think it has some of the better voice acting jobs I've heard in awhile. Nothing stellar like FFXII's work, but still a nice job nonetheless. I actually found the protagonist, Capell to be very endearing and Aya, the female lead, to be very different than your standard fare in a good way Although there is one drawback to the characters being that there are just too many of them. I think the total was around 18, and while they do have motives and such for being in there, it just seems like a lot. What's worse is that several of them can only be used as secondary party members, which means that you never actually get to use them. Oh well... At least I get to use my samurai and ninja. The graphics are nothing like anything using the unreal 3 engine, and yes the character animations seem like they're straight out of last gen, but some environments are simply stunning and nice to look at, and complaints withstanding, it's still a nice looking game. On to the nitty gritty of it. The entire game is in real time. There are no pauses between anything including the main menu other than during cutscenes or by actually pressing the pause button. combat as thus is real time as well. Enemies appear onscreen and can be attacked or avoided at will. However, be careful as if you're surprised, you'll lose certain things such as AP which is used for tossing enemies up for aerial combos or down to the ground for ground combos. You can also surprise enemies yourself to gain xp bonuses as well as critical damage boosts. You can only totally control Capell in battle and have full use of his combos, finishers and skills, however you can "connect" with other characters in order to use certain abilities in battle. Certain skills also have uses outside of battle like Aya can shoot down far away objects, you can ride Gustav, and Komachi can pull inaccessible items to her and open locked chests.. You can also give your characters generalized commands such as save MP, spread out, or wait. As to be expected with most Tri-Ace games, there's a pretty decent crafting system and plenty of secrets and side-quests tossed about here and there. If you are an avid fan of JRPGs and RPGs in general and can look through the minor faults of the game, I'm sure you'd be able to enjoy it as much as I have. Happy gaming.

If I'm not mistaken, both original models of the PS3(the 20 gig and the 60 gig models I think) both have actual hardware emulation, as in the original PS2 components are actually built into the PS3. You'd wanna look around for anything that says that it's a 2006 model or so. As for eBay, not so sure. Hope you find one.

Neko, you still have Mass Effect? What's the condition?

That, Star Ocean 4, and Tales of Vesperia are what effectively killed the prospect of a PS3 to me. If those games on the 360, then there's nothing to say anything else won't be either. Of course that isn't to say we won't see a lot of 360 games on the PS3. Bioshock is there, and I'm pretty sure Star Ocean 4 and Last Remnant are at least getting Japanese releases eventually. Also mark my words, FFVersusXIII WILL be heading to the 360.
-
It'll be hitting the 360 eventually. This IS Sega we're talking about. In fact it was originally slated to be on the 360. When questioned, Sega responded with "we don't want to close any doors". And you can't trust a damned word out of Kojima's mouth ever since he said MGS2 would be his final game, so this'll be hitting the 360 one day or another. If Konami says we wants moar munny, then it'll happen.

Rare made a statement that they're going to be fixing the font size as soon as they can.

I want this game, I want this game, I want this game, I want this game. Is the full version out yet? No? Fuck.

And there goes population control down the toilet...

So I got a chance to play the demo of the game earlier tonight on Xbox Live. What can I say? The game is awesome. At first I played a little bit by myself(which I promptly realized I could not do), then I went online with my best bud(yeah the demo has online coop), and we had a blast with it. One thing about the game though is that it is mentally taxing(at least to us it was). With zombie hordes running straight at you in massive amounts after getting hurled on by a boomer(fat zombie), you start getting wiped. More so when you've had this experience several times in two levels. We were both pretty tense and jumpy the whole time which I find to be a good thing. We also really tried to coordinate our movements so as never to be left behind and always be ready to bail one another out. The graphics are pretty much an upgraded TF2 set with smoke effects on weapons, etc. Nothing too fancy, but the graphics do the feel of the game well. I can't say much about the sound other than it gets the job done flawlessly. The game's a blast, go check out the demo. Happy gaming.

Why is this site so scared of actually reviewing songs?
Malaki-LEGEND.sys replied to jfs_87's topic in General Discussion
Constructive praise can be as necessary as constructive criticism. And conversely, nobody has to take their time to tell you why they thought your song sucked, just like nobody has to tell you why your song was great. The only difference is that one satisfies your ego more than the other. -

Wait... So are there actually multiple endings?

They make fun of the Love Boat. This is quite possibly the greatest game ever made.
-
...As if this game wasn't making me happy enough, this info just caused me to cream my pants. So far 20 hours into the game about to return to Nordopolica and still loving the hell out of it.

How is the OST? I must know!

From what I understand, it's pretty much a stand alone version of Portal for the 360 along with some extra missions here and there, although the extras don't include Glados' voiceovers and I think they're based on some flash version of the game or something. I'd grab it for 15 bucks if I didn't already have The Orange Box.
-
I cannot stress enough how good the game is. You won't regret it if you do grab it sometime. It's no wonder this game sold 360s in Japan like crazy. I think Shane Bettenhausen of 1up said the game's combat played a lot like a fighting game, and like I said before, I keep wanting to instinctively hit the Y button ala SCIV. The combat is pretty engaging to say the least. It's fun times.

With all the 360 shit I'm getting this year, my PSP and DS are gonna be taking the backseat until March or so... And even then I'm gonna have RE5 and Star Ocean 4 to tackle, but damnit I want this game so hard.
-
Infinite Undiscovery is also a great game. I was a bit turned off at first due to the mixed reviews, but when I saw the TRU buy 2 get 1 free deal last week, I caved and grabbed it along with Tales of Vesperia and Ninja Gaiden 2. I'm currently busy with ToV right now so I won't dive further into IU than the 4 hours I have thus far(which have been awesome), but once I finish Vesperia(in which I keep wanting to press Y for my vertical attack ala Soul Calibur for some reason...) which is also amazing, I'll get right on it. As for Ninja Gaiden 2, it's pretty much the same as the first, but multiplied by 10 to the power of awesome. I'll give some decent impressions soon(whatever happened to our game reviews thread btw?). Hurray for post dyslexia.

You could also try connecting your laptop to your 360 via USB, set your laptop's net to bridged connections and have it connect to the router via WiFi. Not sure if that actually works though.

This day is won by Truth and Justice. No matter what anyone wants to call it, the whole debacle was bullshit to begin with. Could the game have gone without the track? Yes. Could they have used something else instead of quotes from the Qu'ran? You betcha, and nobody would have been the wiser. But guess what? They DID use quotes from the Qu'ran, and it's within their goddamn rights to not have to change it. Being PC and tolerant is great and all, but when it affects something that is in no way harmful to anyone in a negative fashion, it should not fly with anyone. My comment might have been brash, but it still pertains true to the fact that there is a high level of hypocritical intolerance among many hardline muslims. Of course Sony is probably still gonna wuss out and switch it simply because the arab gaming community is(apparently) a huge Sony fanbase. What with all their missteps, they can't afford to lose that audience or something or other.
-
Ahh... Muslims. Reminding us all what hundreds of years of severe indoctrination does to a people. Sucks for everyone wanting to play LBP.
