  2. Finally some ska on OCRemix, and it's good ska. The arrangement is good, the organ is an absolutely wonderful addition, and the whole thing is just so much fun to listen to. Nice work.
  3. The beginning sounds like an OST to some 90's Jerry Bruckheimer movie, so it was quite the surprise when the rocking guitar came in, and a very positive one at that. Nice breakdown at ~1:40, and the synth has an awesomely cheesy 80's vibe to it. Awesome guitar playing between 3:08 and 3:10. Nice work.
  4. Lack of reverb is unfortunate, but the arrangement is great. Good job.
  5. Very nice choice of instruments, and a very interesting arrangement. I feel that the voice clips are somewhat out of place; however, they're all "classics" and don't really stick out negatively or even annoyingly. It's strange that they are there, but that's not a bad thing.
  6. I like the piano and the violin (especially around 4:15), and how the song picks up speed at ~3:00. The breakdown around 5:00 is nice, too. It's a little too long, though.
  7. Correctly timed sweeps.
  8. Amazing. When I first listened to this, I thought "this is as close as you can get to professional production and singing." After repeated listening, I do hear some of the problems that have been mentioned in this thread (guitar etc), but damn if I care. At all. I hope to see both of you on the front page again soon.
  9. When it comes to character design, Seth is the new Necrid.
  10. When I read something about ELP in djp's write-up, I got my hopes up high, but ultimately, I was let down. The organ and the piano are great, but most of the rest of the song doesn't really do it for me. And I guess it doesn't help that I think the source-tune has been remixed to death already.
  11. So it sucks living in the country where the game was released about one week earlier than in the rest of the world, to be precise on Feb 12th? Dude, you're doing something wrong.
  12. Definitely a song that needs to be played loud, since it loses all its appeal when just playing in the background. The transitions were handled very well and don't make this feel like a medley at all.
  13. Great, just like everything else on Hybridism.
  14. Surprisingly laid-back track; fairly different from what BGC did some years ago. Still really good. And I do hope you make some more music; I still listen to your Lifeforce remix regularly.
  15. Three phases of listening to this song: First, at the very beginning of this song: Hmm, very atmospheric. Second, about 50 seconds in: Oh neat, this has a certain Blade Runner-esque quality about it. He should have put it on his Cyberpunk album Third, about 1:30 into the song: Holy fucking balls to the wall awesome.
  16. This remix has a certain space-ish quality to it. If I didn't know it was from DKC3, I'd assume it's from some SciFi game. Especially the first few seconds would fit into a Metroid game perfectly. Very enjoyable.
  17. Diggin' the vocal sample at ~0:34/1:05; more of that, please. I still think you need to vary the source tune playing in the background a little more, especially in the first half of the remix. Your own work that plays over it is absolutely amazing and very interesting to listen to, but the constant, identical background drags this remix down a bit. And if you add in some rap, for gods sake, keep it free of name-drops. No Alan Greenspan in this one. The lyrics still in place at 3:50 sound good, btw.
  18. Really well done remix. Despite being almost 7 minutes long, it never becomes boring, simply because there is so much variation going on. Good use of SFX, too. I would've liked to see some more source tune, though, or at least it being more prominent, similar too 5:15 and beyond.
  19. Upbeat, fun, and, as djp mentioned in the write-up, definitely quirky. Reminds me of his Plok remix, which happens to be one of my favourites. Just like this one. Amazing stuff.
  20. How is that surprising? It has always been like that. Just check the Free Music Thread.
  21. Solid trance remix. Nothing out of the ordinary, although it does have a most wonderful breakdown.
  22. The piano playing is so good, it makes me forget that I'm listening to one of the most overused sources ever. Nice work.
  23. The sound of the guitar(s) isn't exactly my cup of coffee. However, the arrangement is very nice, and the fast sections (i.e. 2:00 and 3:15 onwards) are awesome.
