  1. God, no, please. The less smileys, the better. The more smileys you add, the more people use them instead of actually writing something, and before you know it, this forum'll look like an anime forum for 12 year olds where smileys make up 50% of each post.
  2. "Crunchy" is the right word for this song. So much raw, untamed badassery. If OCR were a schoolyard, this remix would be taking the other remixes' lunch money away. And I agree with Mazedude; this theme (as well as the rest of the SMW music) doesn't get enough attention (anymore).
  3. Catchy is the right word. Once you listen to this mix, you won't get it out of your head anytime soon. Very nice. The vocals could use more effects/filters/etc, though. Maybe I'm spoiled by all the French House from the 90s (and current J-House), but I think that this song would've benefitted from more effects like the one at ~1:02 and 3:37. Anyway, this is a great song, and I hope we'll get to hear more of this kind of music here.
  4. Hellz yeah downloading now
  5. Genesis is still huge in Brazil, so I'm not really surprised.
  6. The beginning of the song, to be more specific 0:36 to 1:07, really succeeds in establishing that this, in fact, is a FF remix. While the sax is a little too exposed and doesn't gel with the rest of the orchestra that well, I really don't mind that, since sax is awesome, and so is your playing. Good job.
  7. Very chilled track with a nice mood. Could've benefitted from some soloing, though; both when it comes to variation as well as length.
  8. No matter how many remixes of this track I listen to, it never becomes boring. And despite this being about 6 minutes long, it never gets repetitve. Good work, guys.
  9. Proof that you don't need the newest tools to make good music. Almost hypnotic chiptune-esque goodnees. Well done.
  10. Well, I just love the smooth jazz the OneUps always manage to come up, so I of course like this song, too. Digging the flute big time. Acoustic guitar is very nice, too. The rocking guitar was certainly a surprising addition, but works really well. Though I can totally see a version without it being awesome, too.
  11. I concur. Also, the bells are great. Very interesting mood mazedude creates here; somewhere between creepy and plain weird. Very unique. Keep on rockin'
  12. God yes, get rid of that. Very fat low-end here, and I (and my subwoofer) love it. Two things I'd like you to do with this mix: 1:07 is a little, how should I say it, hard. The "instrument" playing until 1:18 can get really, really grating and annoying. It's not as bad later on when it's part of a fuller soundscape, but it's pretty annoying when it first comes in. Second, I think this could benefit from a very basic breakdown. No extras at all, just the Brinstar melody playing. Though, maybe some ambient noises would go well with that, too.
  13. Exactly my thoughts when I read your post.
  14. I don't think I've ever heard a remix that's so relaxing and peaceful. Really, you can't think about anything bad when listening to this. It's perfect food for your nerves on a stressful day. Well done. Really, really well done.
  15. It's still 320 if you download it. The bassline/drums are a little too booming; maybe there's too much reverb on it or something. The laid-back feeling of the song is typical for your work, and while I like the style, I think that this song could use a little more variation, both arrangement- and sound-wise. Add in a countermelody, preferable one that uses an instrument in the higher end of the sonic spectrum. As is, this piece is just too low-end heavy. Keep workin' on it.
  16. Very nice bassline, and the Metroid cry adds a lot to the atmosphere. Personally, I think that this remix is a little too long. Some parts of it, e.g. the intro, overstay their welcome a bit and make the remix borderline repetitive. However, this is something you only hear if you focus on listening to this remix and don't do something else; if you have it playing while doing anything else, you won't realize this at all. Nevertheless, nice remix.
  17. Retronauts ("Podcast for old people") released an insanely long episode about the DC just last week. Go check it out. http://www.1up.com/do/minisite?cId=3156908
  18. Big Suikoden fan. Which makes him win by default.
  19. Very interesting piece. Using two pianos makes the soundscape so wonderfully filled; not one part of this remixes seems empty and underwhelming. However, I agree with what was said in the write-up; the pianos sound a little too similar. Making them sound more differentiated would have added to the "battle" feeling of this song. Nice work.
  20. FFS, use some better hosting. Youtube is acting gay right now, and we've already talked about hosting at myspace. I want to listen to your song, but I'm not going to wait until freakin' youtube loads all of it.
  21. Everyone knows that Sixto is able to make rockin' remixes, but this piece here goes beyond that. The electronica influences really add a lot to the song, taking it closer to VGM territory (especially 1:12 onwards). The piano is a very nice touch, too.
  22. East bound and down loaded up and truckin' we're gonna do what they say can't be done we've got a long way to go and a short time to get there I'm east bound, just watch ol' Bandit run Smokey and the Bandit was my very first crash movie; saw it first when I was 4 or 5. Good times.
  23. Very intriguing. As was said before, chamber music isn't exactly something you'd find on OCR very often, so it's all the better to be able to listen to something as unusual as this. Very nice song where it really pays off if you listen to it closely instead of just having it play in the background. Also, the ending is fun.
  24. Can't say that I'm really fond of the piano playing in the first and last, i.e. the CT parts. The sound of it rubs me the wrong way. However, the piano in the Prelude section is really nice, as is the guitar. Vox works well, too. I don't think I need to comment on percussion; the posters above me already said anything there is to say. Overall, nice work. There's room for improvement, but there some really nice things about this remix.
